We were in Big Bear in February for a family getaway weekend. Three of us girls headed to Elevations and got Swedish massages. While the place is small, the service was really great! We were offered tea or water when we arrived (the Aveda tea they serve is delicious). Each of us had incredible massages. When were done, we were led to a small waiting room and given a heated pad for our shoulder and allowed to relax for as long as we wanted. It wasn't anything fancy, but it was very relaxing and pleasant. The $85 price tag is more than fair. It will be a tradition for us to go back each year. So glad we found Elevations! read more

Shitty gel nail polish. Very sloppy and I was so unhappy! I I've been to other places in big bear that are way better. Gel didn't even last a week- I think it was 4 days later it was chipping and within a week it all was off. 35.00 and not even a manicure, not a nail trim, nothing just the polish and all up on the cuticles. Terrible! Won't be going there again. I will return to Sunny's which is local in big bear. Thought a day spa would do much better and it totally failed! read more

I've had massages, facial, and the vischy (not sure on spelling) shower at Elevations. Also treated my neices to massages there as well. We were all very pleased with the quality of service, timeliness and professionalism. I've had many massages in my life which spanned the spectrum of not so good to excellent. I'd give Elevations a very good to excellent. I had a vischy shower at Qua at Ceasar's Palace in LV, Nev. and it was not as good (freezing cold room) and more expensive. I go back to Elevations whenever I'm up here at my cabin to relax and get away from the stress of beach city life. read more

The only Spa to visit while in Big Bear! All of my visits have been amazing. I have had facials, eye brow tinting, pedicures, and massages at Elevations. When you arrive they put a warm body wrap around your shoulders and offer you tea. The front desk is friendly and the therapists are awesome. I came in with my cousin's bridal party for the bachelorette weekend. I chose to get a custom facial which was done by Linda. Normally, the idea of a spa day would not really appeal to me because it feels like it doesn't do much for my skin, but because of the wedding coming up, I decided to give it a shot. The whole treatment felt like it did something to help my skin, and Linda went above and beyond to make me feel relaxed. She explained each part of the routine so I knew that could remain comfortable with whatever she was doing. I even fell asleep! (Which, based on how hard it can be for me to relax in places like this) It just goes to show how much the staff at Elevation Day Spa puts in effort to ensure their clients receive the best treatment possible. One of the best spa experiences I've ever had!! My daughter and I chose a girls day while my husband and sons were skiing. Elevations was able to get us in within a couple hours on a holiday. I received a 4-hour session at Elevations for a Christmas gift. Four treatments and a great lunch. Could not be happier. The staff was amazing and knew what they were doing. No one rushed me from treatment to treatment. Lots of time to relax and enjoy. I highly recommend this lovely haven in Big Bear. Shout out to the staff that was so good to me. My husband got me a half hour massage and a pedicure as an anniversary gift. As soon as I walked in, they greeted me with hot tea and a warm shoulder pack. The waiting and retail area is nice and they offer a nice selection of products. The massage was very relaxing, the masseuse made me feel comfortable and focused on the areas that I requested. After the massage, I was led into a room to wait a moment with a fish tank, blanket, massage chair and a glass of water which I also found relaxing. The pedicure was nice and the woman was very professional. All areas were clean and I felt very welcomed by the staff. My husband and I have been coming here for several years almost every time we're up in Big Bear. We get hour and a half massages each time. Like another reviewer, I think the rooms could be darker, which could be solved by black out blinds. Other than that, my experience has been perfect each time. Deborah is amazing! And Rita, who I had today is just as amazing if you like more pressure, which I do. It's a resort area which means you'll pay more than those Chinese places that do your massages on the cheap, but really, you get what you pay for. Who wants to feel frustrated during a massage, even if you're only paying $45 for an hour. It defeats the purpose of relaxation! The management hires the therapists, so when you get consistently great massages, you know they care about their client's experience. The spa is clean and quiet. I've gotten a lot of massages over the years, and I don't believe you can do better than Elevations while up in Big Bear. read more

Amazing massage! My wife and I have been to most of the spas in town, and Elevations is by far our favorite. We've seen Chelsea and Patricia multiple times and we won't use anyone else now. The new location is easy to get to (just behind Walgreens), super clean, and very relaxing (obviously a huge step up from their last digs at the beat up gym). ABSOLUTE WORST SPA EXPERIENCE EVER! First off I don't understand how they call themselves a day spa when there literally IS NOT EVEN A SHOWER there, there is no place to even undress and put on robe, which by the way was covered in stains, you undress in the room you get service in. After my facial, was not relaxed as she talked the entire time and my face hurt and was covered in big red spots where she attempted to perform extractions, she told me that they would be gone soon. When I arrived back to my hotel room and got a chance to look in a mirror with proper lighting, my face was extremely red and I noticed that some of the places shes tried to extract, we actually bleeding. I attempted to called Elevations Day Spa multiple times with no answer. I called back and left detailed message, and no one returned my call. I continued to call for 2 hours and no one answered nor returned any of the multiple messages I had left, even explaining that I was from the East Coast and was leaving on a flight the following morning. The decided to return my call the following afternoon while I was so conveniently flying back home, to which I was starting college full time the following day. My face has broken out consistently since I got a facial there & in addition I have scars on my face where the woman squeezed so hard she left scratches that literally scabbed over! Now it has been 2 months and they refuse to even send me a list of products they used, as requested by MY DERMATOLOGIST!! EVERY TIME I call the manager Madison is extremely rude and refuses to do anything to help! ALL I WANTED WAS A FACIAL, NOW I HATE MY FACE!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE GO HERE!! I've been going to elevations for many years now, as a full time Big Bear resident. In the past I've done the facial, and was very happy. The esthitician was very friendly, knowledgeable and skilled. Most recently I have my hair done there by Liz. She's not just good, she's gifted. I've been to 10 other places, they don't know cut, they don't know natural looking color. EVERYTIME I have my hair done with Liz I get 5 compliments before I get home. She trains, studies, participates in fashion hair shows in LA, constantly learning, not the same "we know how to do one big bear hair style". I like the Aveda products, and whenever I need a great quick gift I go get the gorgeous neck wraps they sell in all different scents. They are polite, efficient, it's a very calming environment, offering water, tea, or a heated neck wrap as you wait. It's very competitive as far as facials, and they offer several kinds, to fit your skin type and preferences/needs. I have many friends that are addicted to Elevations Day spa! read more
