Worst customer service ever!!!! Waited 20 minutes just for someone to take our drink order for breakfast. We are not the only ones lots of other customers were also waiting. Most customers said they waited 45 minutes for food. Breakfast! This is breakfast we are talking about. The simplest meal to make and what should be the most affordable. As we were getting up to leave the waitress offered the buffet because we were on a time schedule. The buffet was $18.00!!! For A breakfast buffet!!! In a hotel!!! WTF!?!?! read more

Bartender was completely inept and unaccommodating even though we were the ONLY people in the restaurant. No Blue cheese olives really your just a lazy bartender when you have no customers ...literally no wonder why ...stuff them it takes 2 seconds Not enough staff and although she tried to please there was no guidance from the chef .... The appetizers come out first and should be hot !!!! Then main entree ...next !Food was cold and came out all at once . Paid the bill in full but really would not recommend . Pre-Pandemic Eleven Waters was a terrific place for breakfast. Unfortunately, the food and service is lacking. No effort put into important details. Egg cookery, potatoes, plating, all mediocre. The service was poor with the tables overflowing with sugar packets and creamers, which suggests a lack of attention guest needs. Coffee was watery as well. Weak dark roast coffee isn't ideal with poached eggs drowned in paprika. We were never offered water despite the appearance of water cups on the tables. Just overall not good. The dining room is beautiful, full of natural light, too bad the staff does not honor where they work. read more

We were here for dinner the Saturday of Syracuse graduation weekend, but I guess it's far enough away from the center of things that it wasn't too crazy. I found everything to be at least pretty good, if mostly a bit overpriced (but I wasn't paying, thankfully). I had zero complaints about the service at any point - we had no trouble getting a table in a timely fashion, got all our food out quickly and correctly, everything went fine from start to finish. One thing I was happy to see here was the long list of local wines (though I wished they had more than a few open for glasses, as opposed to only full bottles - like at least one cab franc, maybe?), and thought it was especially cool that they also make a point to use local spirits in their cocktails, too. I tried their updated take on an old fashioned, which used local bourbon and local maple syrup, and it was indeed quite delicious. We started with a pork cheek flatbread for the table (off their daily specials menu - sadly, since I'd highly recommend it). It was fairly large, and quite good. I tried their burger for the entree, which was pretty good and pretty substantial - not the best burger I'd ever had in my life, but solid. Their fries were also great - I love fries that use truffle oil. I also tried a bite of my wife's steak, which was perfectly cooked and of clearly high quality. I was quite full after the burger, but I got to try a bite of someone else's dessert - they ordered the olive oil cake, and it was quite good as well. Dense, but not *too* dense, and bursting with flavor (I especially liked the citrus in the whipped cream). So yeah. I wouldn't go super far out of my way to eat here again if I were back in NY, but I had no complaints about any of it, either, other than it was a bit pricey for what you get. I'd totally come back to the bar to try more of their cocktails if I were in the area, though - I love supporting local distilleries, and that was a great old fashioned. I do also want to mention one extra unexpected expense (though, again, I wasn't paying for it, but I'd have been annoyed if I had been) - at least when we were there, there was no street parking anywhere around, and the cheapest lot parking was $7. I don't know if that's only because it was graduation weekend, though, or if that's all the time. edit: apparently it was indeed only for graduation weekend, according to the comment; that's reasonable enough. read more

Since I was checking out of the Marriott I decided to have a quick bite here in the hotel. The menu looked inviting and the ambiance was bright and cheerful. This is where it stopped. We were seated in a corner booth/table and noticed a thick layer of dust on the ledge. The server came over to take our beverage order and returned a few minutes later (the restaurant was empty). After bringing beverages we ordered breakfast, only to return a few minutes later to ask my dining partner for his order, again. He added a side of ham to the order. The server completely disappeared. The busboy brought out the food, provided us with additional coffee, and had to put the order in for the ham. No server at all. In this same time, a family of 4 was seated, and ignored, they left; as did a business man. The other poor guy when he finally got the attention of the server asked 3x for his food, "oh it should be out soon." When I asked for the check, she disappeared started running around which is when I got up and asked other staff where she disappeared to. It's obvious she is over her head with this job, our breakfast was comped. Oh, and btw for the kitchen if you're going to put field greens in a plate, they should not be dead. The food here is prepared decently. However, it is not substantial. Nor is it very flavorful. I would say it's basic with portions erring on the small side, and service is also about as basic as it comes. The ambience, depending on where you are seated, is pleasant. But Not rushing back. read more

Went here at 11am for brunch but they were only service a lunch menu, seemed odd. The service was great, she was prompt and attentive. We ordered the flatbread of the day which was pesto And tomatoes. It was on the small side in the event you wanted to share. Onion soup was also tasty! Would definitely go back! read more

Drinks and starters with my friend during a conference in the adjoining hotel. We were too impatient in between provided lunch and dinner, and to be honest, a tad on the tipsy side after our happy hour. We decided to try out Eleven Waters. Bartender was great, attentive and knowledgeable. Recommended popular and steadfast cocktails. I got and old fashioned with "New York style bourbon", not technically bourbon (as it is made in NY, not KY) but a great effort and definitely a skillful salute to the real stuff. Also, I chose to try the Clean Shave a cucumber-infused take on the Moscow Mule. So refreshing! Would highly recommend. Would be ideal on a summer day. Starters - tomato toast was my favorite of the two we ordered, feta cheese was fancy, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. Well merging of flavors, let's face it, put balsamic and feta on anything and I rave about it. I would order the toast again. Hummus with veggies and chips, a healthier option, though nothing to write home about. Good is all I got. Entrees looked great. Unfortunately, back to KY tomorrow. Maybe I can hit Eleven Waters up again when I am back in Syracuse. read more

We were staying at the Marriott and went down for breakfast... they had a buffet and you could also order from the menu. The buffet didn't offer much for vegan selection so we asked for a menu and that also did not have anything on it... I nicely asked the server Brianna (I think) if they had anything vegan... she promptly went to the kitchen and came back offering up a vegetable medley from the chef which sounded great... we were even more impressed when it came out and it was a full skillet of veggies and potatoes.. it was very tasteful and well but together.. the chef even made sure to just use olive oil! I thought it was so nice of them to go out of their way to make us such a breakfast.. the staff was very attentive and nice. read more

I was late to the party for brunch, and for that I am grateful, as there was a large bridal shower or something like that leaving, as I was coming in. They told me "no more brunch buffet- these girls ate all the food." I kind of chuckled and ordered a sandwich and a Bloody Mary instead. It was pretty good. The ambiance and service were fine. I would recommend going to Eleven Waters because it is a quaint restaurant offering delicious food for a good price. I went to the restaurant with my girlfriend for Valentine's Day and it was absolutely delicious. To our surprise when we walked in, there was a jazz pianist playing at the restaurant. Our meals were beautifully presented and used fresh ingredients. The only issue we had was trying to locate the entrance to the restaurant because we came out of town to eat there. Once we found the entrance, we used the free valet to park our car and we walked in. I would recommend going there for anyone who had a special occasion. read more

We had a reservation for dinner on a Friday night before a show. There was one person on staff, who served as hostess, server, and busser. She had 7-8 tables. Ordering, getting drinks/food, etc. took way too long. She blamed it on the kitchen being "slammed." She also wondered aloud, "Is there something going on tonight?" A pricey restaurant like this should keep an eye on local events and staff accordingly. 1 out of 2 appetizers was wrong and took 15 more minutes to be corrected (on top of the original 45 minute wait). We visited this restaurant off of a FB post that we saw. We were expecting a live band with BBQ but ended up with salad and dessert. We inquired and found out it was every other Tuesday. We tried the Crab Cake...not a good choice at all. We requested it to be removed from our bill. The server explained they were using a different vender for that item that may not be up to par. We continued with the beet salad and chef salad that was great. The dessert choices were amazing. The strawberry cheesecake and the shooter variety were A+. I shouldn't have to say the beer was good and cold. I feel like we will have to try this spot one more time before I can have a solid review. Located on the ground floor of the Downtown Marriott, I've eaten here three different times and the breakfast buffet has been great every time. For $15, you really can't beat it. The coffee and juice are also fresh and tasty. The service is pretty good, then again, who really cares for a buffet? Inside the newly-renovated Hotel Syracuse (now the Marriott Syracuse Downtown) the white walls gave the restaurant a cold, austere feel with windows looking out to a construction mess. There were enough compelling items on the lunch menu, plus a couple of specials were announced. One of us tried the Turkey BLT, $11, which came on Italian toast with enough good turkey and a metal pail full of McDonald-like fries. The soup of the day was Tortilla Soup, $6. Not a lot of food which had a strong, spicy, tomatoey base that overshadowed the turkey and veggies. Next, came the Arancinis, $11. Just 3 flour & potato (?) deep-fried balls that were only drizzled with a little pesto sauce. A Chicken Cobb Salad, $12, had bacon, bleu cheese, tomato & egg, with a dill & buttermilk dressing. This one was pretty average. It's the only restaurant open here now and I didn't check out the dinner menu. read more

Staying here at the Marriott. Came in for breakfast. Was seated quickly. But noticed my table was filthy. You can see the water stains from glasses and even salt scattered across the table. There was also still water standing on parts of the table and food from the previous customer. The food is average at best. Sorry for an expensive hotel restaurant really not what you would expect. read more

I hate to even write this as I had really high hopes and expectations for this place but we were severely disappointed. Let me start out with the positives: The bartender was nice. You could tell she was overwhelmed as she was the only one working, but she never lost her cool, was nice and professional. The food overall was tasty. We ordered the smoked meatballs (which looked under cooked, but we didn't get sick, and assumed the lack of color was from the smoking technique), grilled caesar salad, steak and frites, and the scallop special over couscous. The meatballs we were a bit skeptical with the color and the taste, but they were just okay. Same with the grilled caesar, nothing special but still was good. The steak and frites again was good, nothing too fancy. The scallop special though was very good- the scallops were a little on the salty side but still edible and the mushroom pearled couscous was a great accompaniment. On to the negatives: Service, service, service!!! I waited a few days to write this review so I could think more about it. And the more I thought about it, maybe it was just the two servers we had, but our experience was just horrible. We did see other servers who appeared attentive, kind and professional. We were sat by the hostess and multiple servers passed us by, no hellos, i'll be with you, etc. Tables sat after us were greeted and tended to, but not us. Finally, a 'server in training' came by to take our drink order and we decide to place the order for meatballs at the time as well. She took it and explained she was in training and that the veteran server would come by. Another 5 or so minutes had passed, still no drinks, and the veteran server says hello and asks for our order. She was not warm or friendly and I was already put off as we didn't have our drinks nor did she tell us the specials- I had to ask. After that our appetizer came, still no drinks. We were told the bar was very busy and that we'd get them soon. The bar was busy, but I'm not sure if that was true or they just forgot, as we had come from the bar before and she was doing just fine- 2 glasses of wine isn't that hard to pour? But we'll let that slide. After the appetizer (and drinks finally) came, our salad showed up and then our dinners- all within 5-7 minutes of each other. Clearly the kitchen wasn't busy, but we didn't like how rushed the food came out, we didn't finish the appetizer before the salad showed up and same with our dinners. Since taking our order we never saw our server(s) again. Another server dropped our food off and said she'd be back with a steak knife- which we never saw. Since no one came back to check, and we couldn't flag anyone down, we had to use a butter knife. While we were attempting to wait for the knife our server engaged in loud, inappropriate gestures and comments with other servers and customers at a nearby table- never once making eye contact with us to see if we needed anything. We had felt rushed and ignored all dinner but they had time for this!? We were just beyond upset at this point, I thought this was suppose to be a classy joint- not your neighborhood dive joint. Our server(s) didn't check back in until it was too late. At this point we just wanted to go. I did attempt to talk to a manager, but oddly enough he had left (wasn't even 10pm on a weekend evening yet), I did talk to the supervisor who was very nice and apologized, she did discount our bill. But sadly the experience we received from this one server was just unacceptable. And as far as I could tell we were one of two, maybe three of her tables in the whole place, it wasn't as if she was oversat and overwhelmed. Honestly, I'm not sure I'd be back for dinner. I really hope they work out these kinks and convey a fine establishment vibe that I feel this place was looking to embody. read more

Went to Eleven Waters for a holiday dinner with my parents. I was pleasantly surprised by the decor and the food. We ordered the lamb and WOW-it was good. My mom ordered the puttanesca + my father ordered the lobster bisque + the chicken dinner. Truly, the food here deserves more than 3 stars, so I encourage you to try it yourself. My only feedback is to have the staff increase the knowledge of the menu + the wine list. It would create a more elevated dining experience if they knew more about what they were serving. That said, the waitress we had was incredibly patient when looking into our questions and it was very much appreciated. read more

This restaurant can be hard to spot as it is inside the Marriott Hotel, and parking can be a bit rough. I was not quite sure which door to enter. It was somewhat confusing to tell whether I in the right place or not because the bar and table arrangement is a bit odd. My girlfriend and I went there for dinner and were not disappointed. Our hostess and server were great... extremely accommodating and friendly. The service was excellent, and we did not feel rushed at all. I had the pasta carbonara and it was delicious. The atmosphere inside is elegant and refined. I asked for a seat by the window which had a nice view. We shared a bottle the Josh Cabernet. I noticed the couple who were later sat next to us also ordered the same bottle! We had a great time, and I would definitely recommend this restaurant. We will be back! read more

eleven waters to the rescue for a thanksgiving dinner! came with my gal pal for eats for the holiday and skipped the prix fixe thanksgiving meal (although it did sound delicious.. a LOT of food) and opted to order a la carte. first things first- the venue is really beautiful with very pleasant, helpful servers. soup tonight was butternut squash- obviously couldn't turn that down, and then opted for their salmon entree. for drinks, we shared a carafe of the local chardonnay on tap (wine on tap... love the concept). the soup was delicious. creamy, flavorful, very decadent- tasted almost like a pie filling. my salmon entree was also very good- perhaps a tad too salted (especially the veggie puree) but otherwise a very fresh piece of salmon and generous amount of spinach. i left very full and very satisfied, and eager to come back to try more things! read more

This restaurant truly puzzles me. It was a Monday night and we arrived for dinner without reservations. The restaurant was 1/2 empty and we were told we would have to wait a half hour because they were booked. My sister had the same experience several months ago. While we waited in the bar, there were several other customers waiting for tables. I counted at least 15 that were empty! During our meal, we were surrounded by empty tables. Also the host station is clueless and was empty when we arrived. Pass on the mixed drinks - way too sweet. The food was good and at a decent price point. I would recommend the duck or the blistered chicken. Keep in mind, this is not a fat boy portions restaurant. Order an appetizer or you may leave hungry. My business colleague Andrea thoroughly enjoyed her meal and the pleasant waitress. read more

As a party of 2, we went there for a Saturday 7:00 pm dinner during the weekend of an SU football game. Other than a small private party happening inside near the outdoor fire place, we seemed to be the only diners there...should have been a signal! The Faroe Island Salmon came out raw. The sweet pea risotto underneath the salmon was cold. It was replaced with the roasted half chicken which came out loaded with a ton of glazed sauce on top which covered everything including the sweet potatoes and asparagus. It was an obvious rush job. The Rigatoni Bolognese was OK. The Bistro Caesar salads were very good. Our waitress was pleasant and quick with service. Someone from the back (not sure who) came out to apologize for the salmon which was appreciated. A very distracting thing during dinner...two wait staff (one male, one female) were constantly walking rapidly from one side of the restaurant to the other the entire dinner. Sometimes they would disappear to the back and out they came again in some obvious hurry. Then they would go outside and back inside and then out again! What the heck was so urgent?! No one was there! That was our entertainment for the night! I'll sum it up to a lack of professionalism. We were hoping for better. read more

My family and I went to this restaurant the other night. I loved the idea of having the ingredients be from the New York region. I got the chicken riggies, one of my favorite dishes and so I had high expectations. These did not disappoint. The sauce had a nice creamy cheese aspect to it and was not overpowering in the spice. The chicken and pancetta were nice additions as well. My dad ordered the puttanesca and wasn't a huge fan of it, but my mom enjoyed it. The dinner rolls were also delicious. read more

I have eaten a few times in the restaurant, but most of my experiences come from the bar area. The service was deserving of the Marriott brand and is always excellent. The staff is accommodating, friendly, and can usually make a decision without checking with anyone.Pricing is competitive if not on the low side of an in house Marriott restaurant. Unfortunately, the culinary experience is what made this a 4 and not a 5 star review. The menu is good, but very much needs to be tweaked to a higher end foodie. As of now this is their flagship restaurant in the Hotel, and it falls a little short. The food itself is well prepared, cooked, and seasoned properly... much some items come closer to thinking you are at Applebees when looking at the menu. read more

Inexcusably bad; cold rubbery steak (taken off our bill), cavatelli bologonese that consisted of repurposed Utica greens on top of pasta!?
