This review is for Raffi -- his son was on vacation, but if the other reviews are any indication, it's clear he's also fantastic. Anyway, I walked into Elf Motors on my lunch break around noon on a Monday, with brakes on my 2013 Honda Fit that were grinding so loudly other motorists had commented on them while stopped in traffic (I know, I'm an idiot -- but a broke idiot who had to wait for a check to clear before doing anything about it). Raffi was straightforward and honestly just so pleasant, not to mention communicative throughout the day; when he told me he had to order parts, I was ready to leave my car overnight, because even though brake pad / rotor replacements are a lot simpler than full brake repairs, I've been in LA for six years and had yet to find a mechanic I felt wasn't ripping me off or doubling labor time because I didn't know any better. He was done before 5pm and the whole thing cost a bit more than $330 (before tax). Painless. And, bonus, his office is wallpapered with dozens of family pictures including MANY insanely cute babies. I hate to be this person but I feel like I have to share my experience. I came here because other people recommended it and place has great reviews. Owners very extremely friendly, I felt safe leaving car there. A few hours later they told me everything is good with my car and I'm overreacting, I can keep driving it without any worry. I did what they told me and because of that whole engine is now ruined, i have to pay 5k to replace it. They missed a leak that caused so much damage, I have to pull all of my savings out to repair it. I believe that other people had good experience with these guys, unfortunately not me and it's an expensive lesson to learn. read more

What can I say? Family owned business, honest, fabulous Mechanics. They always find the best solution and are super reasonably priced. We have referred several of our friends to them and they will never go anywhere else. We have been using them for over 2 years. They take excellent care of our older model BMWs. Amazing! I have an '09 Scion tC, and the "maintenance required" light came on as it neared 40k miles. Brought the car to Elf, and the first thing Raz did was commend me on driving stick. Awesome. He then pulled out my cabin and air filters, showed me them, and said they don't need to be replaced for a while. This is the first time in my life that a mechanic hasn't tried to convince me that I need new filters. Double awesome. While he was putting my cabin filter back in, he noticed that I had the car title in my glovebox, and apparently that's a super idiotic thing to keep in your car...? I'm normally not an idiot, but man do I look like one when it comes to cars. Anyway, Raz suggested that I keep it somewhere else, and was not at all condescending about any of it. Triple awesome. About 30 minutes after I dropped my car off, they called to tell me it was all ready to go. So speedy! The total cost of an oil change plus a check of the tires/fluids/brakes/etc. was only $32. The car was low on coolant, which they topped off for me. Quadruple awesome. But seriously, the best parts were the amazingly friendly and kind service, and the complete lack of upselling. I just read Mrs T's review from 6/7/2019, and this is about the same timeframe I began taking my car for service w/ Elf Motors. No kidding, I have been multiple times for oil changes, Window regulators/registers whatever they're called, Fuel pump and filter... All this I could have done myself, but I don't enjoy working on cars so much anymore. In any event, Mrs T is spot on, and here in April 2020,I can say that every visit has been perfect. We actually live in Vegas but little errands like oil changes are things I'll take care of while my bf works in Burbank and I have time on my hands. They have squeezed us in last minute during lunch before our drive back to Vegas when we realized we really needed a service before that journey and they were really cool about it. Also they communicate with you about what they are doing, we got a new car and he looked it up and called me to tell me it calls for a cheaper oil than he priced me for and wanted to double check that i was ok with that and that I would be paying less... very cool. Last night my Passenger dock Lock assembly seized from the inside, on my 2018 Subaru, I tried for about 3 hours to unlock the door from the inside with no luck. My car door was locked and you couldn't get in or out. This morning I called up right when Elf Motors opened at 8am and the Mechanic which I believe was the owner was able to unlock my door in about 15 minutes. These guys are great. They will be my new mechanics in burbank going forward with all Mechanical components going forward in the future. I think the rest of the reviews speak for this place enough, but I'll add mine because I had a positive experience. As we all know, recently it's been insanely hot in California reaching temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. AC is pretty much a must if you plan to be driving in the middle of the day. With that being said, my 1994 BMW 325i had no cold blowing AC anymore. After a call to one shop who said they would hate me over $150 to refill the system with R-134, they then said I should call Elf Motors which I did. When I called I was given a much better price for the same thing, and so I headed over. While recharging my AC, Raz noticed coolant leaking from my car (these cars are notorious for cooling failures) and Raz even found the location of the leak. After finding the location, the repair was simple. I won't go into to much more detail, but Raz is great! I suggest you take your vehicle here, especially if it's German! read more

About five years ago my friend Nikki Nemzer introduced me to Elf motors in Burbank. They fix both my personal car and our company van. Nikki Nemzer had always called them, honest and nice. After hiring them for a number of years I pretty much agreed. As I'm sure everyone realizes it's really hard to really get a true reading on a mechanics honesty, However Elf is a family owned business father and son and It just felt good to work with them. Recently I totaled a convertible. Since I still have a need for a truck with a hitch, I decided to get back into my old expedition that I had kicking around. I wasn't in love with the idea however I really did not want to spend the money on a new car and a new truck. Other than mechanical issues which Elf handled very well The interior needed a new driver seat. After driving around for a little bit I asked them if they can recommend somebody that could repair the driver seat. They made a recommendation to get the car seat reupholstered. When I picked up the car I was less than happy. For a number reasons that I will not going to here, The car seat was not comfortable anymore. The car was not really drivable for long periods of time due to the nature of how the seat came out. Even though all they did is recommend a seat reupholster company, they treated the situation as if they're fixing one of their own personal cars. They told me to leave the car for a few days and then they would figure something out. When they called me to pick up the car, it had a like new beautiful leather drivers seat. Apparently the father went from junkyard to junkyard until he found the seat that was appropriate for my vehicle. Remember this is not even their issue, they have only made the referral but I was important to them to fix my issue. When I asked him what the price was they told me that all they wanted was 50% of the cost for them to buy the seat. The rest of the money I paid for the upholstery went to the referral company and they decided to eat 50% just to keep the customer happy.
