On Monday, June 15 2020 I took my GMC Sierra in for a recall repair. NOT A SINGLE employee wore a mask, not even service department person who took my key. Nor did the person who worked on my vehicle and who drove it outside for me upon completion. There was no attempt to wipe down etc. There was an elderly gentleman ahead of me who brought to their attention of the service manager the lack of PPE and all I saw the serviceman do was merely shrugged his shoulders. Hopefully this gentleman voiced a formal complaint as well. This, after receiving an email from Elhart president in April that said the dealership was taking "proactive action for the safety of staff and customers" but that appears to be merely lip service. Since Elhart doesn't wish to actually practice safely during this time, I have no desire to return. I had a part ordered for replacement, and now they're telling me that the only way it can be installed is to bring it in. It is a very simple piece that could simply be shipped to and installed by me, but instead they are making it difficult. They do not seem to understand or respect customers health so I am addressing with corporate Update: 7/8/20 It has been three weeks now and still no one from Elhart or GM has contacted me about this issue. It is abundantly clear they do not care about their customers' Concerns or safety. I have emailed Jim Elhart himself, I guess I will wait and see if he takes any action. For now, I would advise all to avoid this dealership. The part in question was shipped and arrived unknowingly at my door a few days later. It is ironic that the dealerships' motto is "Be Nice." Mr Elhart, it would be nice If your general manager Simon Jones had a better knowledge of his products. It would be nice if Mike Hazelwood had returned my call regarding the service issue that day. It would be nice if your dealership practiced proper Covid protections for the health and safety not only of your customers, but your employees as well. read more

I bought a 2007 Nissan Altima from Elhart a year back and on the first day driving it noticed some clanging noise coming from under the hood. It was quiet enough that I didn't think too much of it. When I brought it in for an oil change a few weeks back they came back out with a large part of the suspension that had been bouncing around inside the car. When I looked back at the records, no surprise: the assembly had been inspected and was "in good condition." Now I'm looking at over $1000 of repair costs. The eagerness of the salesman to offer the car at a lower price would additionally suggest Elhart was aware of the condition of the car as being broken. Perhaps this was merely a one-time incident, but it should speak to the company's negligence and disinterest in their customers. I would highly recommend shopping elsewhere. read more

Elhart was wonderful to work with for our first-time car buying experience from a dealer. After having an awful experience at another dealer prior, Elhart redeemed everything for us. Jeff Schaap was our salesman and was fantastic. He listened to our needs, let us test drive a few vehicles, and was super friendly and informative. I visited the dealership to purchase an Equinox. I called earlier and was told it was on the lot. When I arrived I was informed that the car was being used by an employee. Since I already knew how the car handled I only needed to see it before I purchased the vehicle. Later that day the sales associate, Tim Davis sent me photos while I was at work and I said it "Looks good" and I want to purchase the car. I did, however, need to wait a day for the bank and insurance company to offically finalize the paperwork as I was replacing another vehicle that was totalled a week earlier. Tim said if I gave him a 500 dollar deposit he would hold the vehicle. I then gave him my credit card number with the deposit to hold. A few hours later I got the paperwork completed from bank and was heading into the dealership when Tim texted me and said he sold the car. I called Tim, Rich and the manager and they all avoided my call. I was informed by two other separate people that Elhart is a dishonest dealership and not to ever purchase a car there. I was proven correct. I am only writing this to you so you can handle this internally as I don't want any other person to have to deal with this type of customer service.
