In the past decade, our family has lost many wonderful women, on both my and my husband's sides. I ended up with the jewelry from three to four different lines. Much of it was damaged and could have been put into scrap, but I have pictures of these women wearing the pieces when they were intact, so we've held onto a great deal of it. My gramma played jazz piano for twenty years on a bandstand, for example, and the awesome rhinestone and sterling pieces I've found can't be replaced. In comes Elie Jewelry Design and Repair. So far we have taken two sets of unique and antique scarab screw-on earrings to be switched to post, a one-of-a-kind sterling and rhinestone necklace from the thirties to have hinges replaced, watches to be repaired, and now are waiting on a sentimental rhinestone hinge-adjustable, triple-layer rhinestone bracelet to be mulled over for repair. What can we say? One of the most important things I'd like to say is that the sterling necklace had paste rhinestones from the thirties in it, and we've been told for years that it was impossible to repair the piece without ruining the stones. Elie Design has a laser machine that was able to do this without heat. The necklace, a one-in-a-million, is restored. Every piece I've received as fixed has also come back polished, and the prices have been reasonable. I have received a military discount. Worse for me, the jewelry in the store is amazing. I have my eye on two pieces, and Lord help me I will collect bottles to earn money for them. Worst yet, I really like the owners. Basically, I'm hooked, have more pieces to be repaired, and I am taking advantage of the craftsmanship of this couple to fulfill a dream of being able to pass down a restored armoire of history in original and sentimental pieces. I've been to a few places on this planet, and I have a few pieces of jewelry. I'm no expert, but I do know that this Yelm store is a treasure in the middle of where you might not expect to find one. And, I didn't even get the chance to go on about the frogs... you'll have to see those for yourself. Just leave the green and purple ring for me; I'm still saving up. EDIT: Yep. I've been here three times in a week! I loved the work on the ring and took my hubby here to look at the jewelry. We needed up getting a gorgeous necklace that is versatile. I can make it long, short double stranded, or a bracelet. It is very beautiful and simple. I have had many comments on it already. We went back to pick up my dress and I just dropped by the store to see some earrings. I ended up with a unique gold huggie earrings. I love the earring because like the necklace, I can wear it two different ways and they look different. The price range is from inexpensive to pricey. So, if you don't want to spend a lot you can get cubic zirconia that look like the real thing, gemstones, silver, or you can buy some fabulous diamonds too. I tried on a pair of diamond studs that was so brilliant and shiny. I was impressed at the quality and price. I dropped a hint about these =) They have men's jewelry as well and some watches. Found these guys on the internet to fix a set of $300 sunglasses that broke at the hinge. They were super fast, inexpensive and when the glasses came back it seems that they had been tightened up and cleaned. Almost like when a friend works on your car for you. i was so disappointed in an eyeglasses repair of a titanium right temple. It was advertised that a laser repair would be guaranteed for one month which is about all it was good for. I paid $39.95 plus shipping for a total of $45.95. The repair lasted four months and broke in the same place. When I called they said they would fix them again for half price plus shipping. Figure it out. The cost of a new temple is cheaper. Heads up if you plan on a repair. You may be disappointed. read more

We purchased my husbands wedding ring here, and they didn't settle for us simply picking one out of a catalog and going with it, they went out of their way to order a few options that we liked so that he could try them on and make the final decision with ring "on" hand, in this case, and not have to wait weeks in between potentially trying multiples. Margaret and Stefan truly understand the elegance that should be present in every bit of the process in picking out or designing some of the most precious pieces of jewelry you may ever wear. I started out with them setting a solitaire princess cut diamond into a wedding set I had, and absolutely loved it and wore it for many years. When I decided that I was ready to change it up, I walked into their store with very little idea on how and/or what I wanted to do. I could write on every wonderful detail of this experience, but we'd be here all day haha So I will just say, my husband and I got to design such a beauty together with both of our selves completely expressed in every detail all in one ring! I still admire it every single day. And not simply as one might admire a beautiful sentimental piece of jewelry, but also the entire experience in which this ring came to be. I recently visited them to design a band to make my ring into a wedding set. We were right back at the drawing board, and I cannot tell you enough how helpful their educated opinion and knowledge of the actual making process was in this instance; all the way down to taking into consideration the active outdoor lifestyle I lead :) I now have my set and am completely dazzled by it every time I catch a glance of my hand, and get wonderful compliments always. One of the many exciting parts to boot, is that it will always be lovely and clean as it comes with free cleaning for life. Also, I know 100% that it has been made right the first time and repairs are almost a guaranteed no thing for me to worry about. I had amethyst (sp)) that's been in my family for over 150 years, I had the two smaller stones set in 10 K white gold Ascher. cut ., I am not an emotional person however have to tell you I was just stunned when I saw them.....I took the larger stone left from the cut and had it designed with a 16 small diamond cut stone heart in a white gold setting., that won't be done till Late Feb or March., but I can tell you I will feel better then the Queen of England wearing these pieces., you are more then welcome to come and see what I brought into them and what the finished product will and do look like....... read more
