The shank broke on 5/11/2026, and I took it back on 5/12/2026. The lady who waited on me made a loud production about their one-year warranty and how the damage to my ring was outside of the year. It was 3 weeks outside of the warranty. It was unprofessional behavior and there were other people in the business who could hear her admonish me. She said she would speak to the owner and get back to me. I received a text message on 5/13/2026, stating that I could pay $40 for the repair. I picked up my ring and took it to another jewelry store who looked the ring over to give me an estimate. Attached is the picture I took when they explained that the work that had been done was faulty. There are bubbles in the shank and you can see the lines where the metal was added to upsize the ring. So much for over 30 years' experience in the business. I would expect this type of customer experience with a corporate owned business where profit is the goal over everything else, not from a "locally owned business that advertises that you can trust your precious family heirlooms with them." Update/Response: The ring was not bent nor had it been sized before. I hardly wear this ring, and I never wear it for work, around the house or in the garden. I received this from a grandparent, and it was a size 4 or 5. Fircrest is the only jeweler that I have had size this ring, and that was in April of last year. It broke at the seam of the metal that was used to upsize the ring to a size 8.5. The jeweler that looked over the ring was not impressed with the work and there was no discussion about the ring being bent or sized multiple times.

Tucked into a cozy spot in Gig Harbor, Maritime Jewelers is a true family-run gem. Eric and his son…read moreown and operate this little shop alongside other nearby boutique businesses, and every time I visit the staff members are always accommodating knowledgeable, with zero-pressure...exactly what you want when you're browsing something as personal as jewelry. Their selection is impressive for the size of the store: rings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, and more. If what you're picturing isn't on the shelf, they'll sketch it, source the stones, and craft it right there. I asked for a custom Viking-inspired piece to honor my Norwegian roots--think bold silver, knotwork, and a Thor hammer pendant. Eric and the team nailed every detail, and the finished necklace feels like it sailed straight out of a saga. Quality is top-tier, prices are fair, and the whole experience is relaxed and fun. Worth the drive from anywhere in the Puget Sound area. If you leave without something that sends you to Valhalla (in the best possible way), you're doing it wrong. Highly recommend Eric and his crew!

I found this business by mistake when I stopped into a restaurant in Gig Harbor. What a treasure…read moretrove! Erick and Ruth are wonderful and they are honest in a business where that is truly hard to find. I bought my first piece from them in October and fast forward to January - I have purchased a beautiful estate ring for my 25th wedding anniversary and as it turns out, it is worth double the amount I paid for it according to an independent appraiser. They have worked on some antique time pieces that belonged to my great grandfather and for the first time in 70 years, it is keeping perfect time! Stop by and say HI to them if you are in the market for a gift or goodie for yourself! You wont be sorry!!

Brandon was the first to help us and apologized saying he didn't realize we were waiting. Again, no big deal he got right into figuring out what we had come in for. We said we wanted to look at engagement rights together and wanna see what we like and don't like cause how can you know unless you go try some on. We were then sat down with another associate, Sean. Idk if he was just looking to make only money that day but customer experience was horrible. He was asking what I was looking for I said I'm leaning towards a Dutch marquise but know they're hard to come by so I wanted to see marquise in person on my finger to get an idea if I'd like it in real life. Brandon had already laid out some marquise for me beforehand so Sean showed be them again and then talked AT me and explained what I wanted was an elongated hex... thank you, thats great to know although both are correct. He explained what cut and clarity were. Not something I was confused about but again, thanks. He pulled up some from his source and told us how much they were and it felt as if he was trying to make us leave or scare us away by mentioning the prices. Then he asked for timeline and my boyfriend didn't wanna say exactly what the timeline was in front of me and it's like a switch went off and he just wanted us out of his store. He was like okay well here's my card and lmk when you guys are ready. And then we just sat there in an awkward silence for a moment cause he dismissed us so fast we couldn't even process we were being kicked out lol. Anyway... I would not recommend coming here unless you can be perceived as being loaded, if you get what I'm saying. Horrible customer service from Sean. Brandon however, was great. Really wanted to support a jeweler local to us but I could never spend money at a place that treats their potential customers like this.
