Just my luck: Our air conditioner basically decided it was going to quit working just as summer finally decided to arrive in San Fernando Valley. Since I was new to the area, I tried calling several HVAC reapir companies. After speaking with Roy at Elite Air, he was able to get an appointment on the same day. Roy was fantastic, courteous and professional. I also learned that Elite Air was a family owned business which I love. He offered to take off his shoes inside which really impressed me. He also took his time to educate us on best tips for our HVAC system. Not only did we need the freon chemical but we also had a belt that needed to be replaced. Rot left to get the part and returned promptly and fixed the issue on the spot. He also addressed our concerns as new homeowners about our AC system and said it was overall in pretty good shape even though it is a bit on the older side. There was no upselling whatsoever. It was very reasonably priced - just under $100 for the service call plus the parts and labor. I can say that Elite Air has earned our business from this point forward. My 12 yr old AC broke down. Figured out at 530 am. Went on Yelp and contacted a dozen HVAC repair places. Elite was first to respond, came out in 2 hours and had it fixed bu 830 am. He came out with 2 other guys, got on the roof of my townhourlse, fixed it with a 1 yr warranty. Something about Freon and charged me about $400. I own rental property and have used many vendors over the years, but hiring Roy and his team was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I got 5 other bids before deciding to use them. Their price was very competitive and Roy gave me time to discuss the pros and cons of different brands and models for my building. We replaced 5 HVAC units and needed to coordinate parking for crane, access inside each unit, use of PPE to protect tenants, etc.... He even agreed to push a few days at my request to avoid a couple of days of very hot weather. I had a totally great experience from start to finish and never felt like I was being "sold". Roy and Elite Air were life savers! Our Freon line was apparently punctured - twice! - by construction workers in the upstairs unit of our condo. Roy was the first one to come out and assess the problem ... for free. After about 30-45 minutes, he identified the problem, discussed the work involved, and gave us an estimate. Just to be sure we were on the right track, and getting a fair quote - we know nothing about AC repair! - we contacted another company who charged $68 for the assessment and then quoted us three times what Roy quoted us. Another company refused to come out at all, stating that it was beyond their scope. We went with Roy and Elite Air and could not have been happier. Roy and his guys showed up early, and got the job done in about 2 hours. A couple other companies said it could take up to a day to locate the leak. Roy and his guys found it in about 10 minutes. Talk about expertise! Along the way, they found a second puncture which they had to repair, but they kept to the original quote. I contacted three contractors to replace my 25 year old heater and air conditioner. After talking to all three contractors I decided to hire Elite Air. I am so happy I did because they did a wonderful job. The tech, Roy, who installed the unit was very professional, knowledgeable and efficient. It took one day for the install. The next day he came back and cleaned the air ducts and the following day they sent a sheet rock contractor over to repair the hole they had to enlarge to the attic access. He was very good also and did excellent work. This was all part of the contract and was much less costly than I had thought. I was so pleased with everything from start to finish. In short these guys are great. Not sure if this is yelp-legal but this is my 2nd review of Elite Air (last one was in 7/2017) and both times I gotta give them 5 stars. Our furnace was original (1965) with a newer/4 yr old motor and the AC was maybe 15+ years old and we decided a few months back that now was the time to replace both (never trusted the furnace so rarely used it even though everyone said it was safe and AC cooled ok but we were waiting for it to go out (likely when it was hot) and always wondered if a more efficient one would save us some $). We are careful with our $ and I research things a lot so I contacted a bunch of places and got them out to get some estimates. Good news is that of the 3 who came out to estimate the job all seemed trustworthy and above board...the cheapest quote came from Elite and since I've worked with them in the past with good results I went with them. I researched more (looked at higher seer units and more efficient furnaces) and got updated quotes from Roy at Elite. Asked a few more questions all the time he answered quick and straight up. Ended up going with his original suggestions and new AC and Furnace were installed last week and HERS tested, inspection took place today and passed with no issues! We interviewed 10+ HVAC companies to install central air into our 1920's house, and Roy's was the lowest bid, by a long shot, which kind of scared me at first, but after checking yelp and other resources (google, etc) he's got such a great track record we decided to hire him, and boy are we glad we did. He and his crew showed up bright and early, everyone was super professional and polite, I never saw any of them texting on a cell phone (can't say that about other contractors I've hired). The air ducts look like they came with the house, that's how beautiful a job he did. There was a crane to lift the huge a/c unit up to the roof and they did it probably within 15 minutes, like it was no big deal. I work from home and even with cutting holes in the ceiling and running ductwork all over the attic, I had very little distraction. It was 2 weeks from first call to finished job, and that's because we were still taking estimates from other people. Once we hired him, he was available next business day. My A/C (payne) unit is about 10 years old, and has been leaking freon every year for the last few years. Roy was very professional and spent extra time searching for the leak in my system. They first searched in my attic and then outside. Sure enough it was the schrader valve! They replaced the needle and included a brass cap as a secondary backup measure. He explained to me and showed me how the old plastic caps didn't have the internal o-ring, thus never would work as a backup seal.
