This auto repair shop is probably the most expensive repair facility in the country. I made the mistake of having my car towed there by AAA after a roadside breakdown (accelerator cable snapped). The hood release cable had also broken. Two weeks and $2,347 later, I finally got my car back. There was nothing repaired besides the accelerator cable linkage and the hood release. Seems like an awful lot of money to repair only those two things. Additionally, the driver's side arm rest/side mirror control was broken off the door by whoever went inside the car. It had been broken before and had been reattached with strong adhesive, so it wasn't as strong as when new. However, the shop never told me about breaking it off. I found it hanging from the door when I picked up the car on a Saturday when the shop was closed. The folks at the shop are very nice (obsequious, actually). This appears to be an effort to cloak the fact they are charging such ludicrously high prices for their repair work and are cavalier about additional damage they do to your car while in their custody. read more

Do not take your high-end vehicle here. I brought my 2008 Porsche Cayenne S in for a "check engine" light after a 5-minute phone conversation during which Elite Auto assured me they were authorized to execute my certified Porsche warranty. After my vehicle was diagnosed, the woman at the front desk (who as other reviewers have stated is surly and unpleasant) informed me that they were not an authorized Porsche mechanic and called me a liar when I described my phone conversation to her, even after the man in the office behind her admitted to having mislead me on the phone. The mechanic reset the "check engine" light, thus I cannot take the vehicle to a Porsche dealer. As a result, there is a good chance that I will become liable or $3,000-$4,000 of repairs, based on the bad advice I received from Elite Auto and their poor judgement. They even charged me $125 for diagnostics that should have been free, had they been an authorized Porsche mechanic. The bottom line is that my experience at Elite Auto was one of the worst I have had in several decades of owning performance automobiles and I caution owners of Porsches and similar vehicles against taking their vehicles to Elite Auto. read more

After MONTHS of back and forth to the Lexus Dealership troubleshooting a "weird noise" my car had been making I finally decided to seek an alternative for my repair shop. My car was still under warranty and I had always taken it to the dealer for service so I wasn't sure of who else to go to. After doing some research online I found Elite Auto Repair and gave them a call.. and I'm really glad I did! I dropped my car off on a Wednesday night for Thursday service and by 11:00 the next day I was called with a diagnosis on my vehicle. Within a few hours the technicians at Elite had found the problem that I had previously brought my car to Lexus for about 6 times over the course of a few months. The work was done by the end of that day and Stacey and Carley (who are both incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and professional) kept me up to date with the status of my car the entire time. My wife and I have been taking our toyota's to Elite for about a decade. The high level of competency from scheduling to the actual work is second to none. That fine line between pushy and consultive has been mastered by these guys as they give solid advice and no pressure. Case in point.. according to the car manual, my Serpentine belt needed replacement. After a good look at the belt, they told me to just wait till the next oil change and "we'll look at it again then and let you know"...Thats customer focus! I was traveling to Rhode Island for Valentine's Day from NY in a Zipcar and noticed I had an air bubble on the side of one of the tires. I was all set to change the tire myself but noticed that one of the lug nuts had a lock on it. I scoured the Zipcar looking for it, but no dice. I called Elite to see if they could get the lug nut off and Mark said they had to break it in order to do it. I said my safety as well as my girlfriends' was worth more than this stupid lock so I drove 30 min out of my way to get to Elite and get the tire changed to the donut. When we arrived we were greeted warmly by Mark and Carl who noticed I was driving a Nissan and said they could take the car to the nearby Nissan dealer and get the lock off without breaking it. Carl was there and back in 15 min and Mark didn't even charge me. He saw that we were from out of town and in a spot. I insisted on a tip for him and Carl. These guys were great. I bought my car from a dealer in Massachusetts and I was having a problem with the clutch getting jammed when I would go into reverse and sometimes when I would get into 3rd gear. They told me all I needed to do was grease it every other oil change. That didn't make any sense to me. I took it to Elite Auto Repair and they did a full inspection and test drive. They bled out the clutch and adjusted it and now it doesn't jam anymore! They also told me my back tires needed to be replaced because the tread was too worn. I am so glad I took my car there! I feel safer driving my car, and I now know that any future car I buy, I'll take to Elite Auto first. I think the dealership I purchased from just didn't want to spend money to fix a used car. Not only were they really nice and courteous to me, but any customer that walked in to pick up THEIR car had a smile on their face. They had a sign up showing that they had 38 referrals for the month of November and 16 were personal referrals! I can believe it! I created a YELP account just to write a good review. I brought my car here for a basic oil change and to replace a bulb in my head light. When I called them to check status, they gave me a long list of repairs that the car needed, including restoring my headlights to a clear shine. I told him I wasn't interested. When I picked up the car, they went over the needed repairs again and then charged me $133, half of which was to replace the light bulb. I own a diesel and my bulbs go out all the time. Various mechanics have replaced them and at most, have charged $10, but usually do not charge for labor. When I questioned the $58 charge for labor, he said it took them 30 minutes to change the bulb. On top of that, they decided to upgrade my oil to synthetic, which is not what I usually use. They did not ever mention this to me. They even charged me $12 for a road test, something I've never been charged for. I guess for people who have a ton of disposable income and drive fancy cars, this place could work. I, however, will not be a repeat customer. read more
