Unfortunately, our regular stylist was out of town, so I called Lotus after reading great reviews. When I called, I specifically asked if they had someone there who specialized in color correction. I sent pictures of my daughter's hair so they could see what the job entailed. The person I spoke with assured me they had a stylist who could do it and scheduled an appointment. I spoke to the stylist after she looked at her hair, and she said fixing it wouldn't be a problem because her hair was in excellent condition. She told me it would be okay to use bleach to go back to being blonde. I had no reason not to trust her. I'll share the photos of what this 'stylist' did to her hair after being in her chair for 6 hours. She left high-volume bleach on her head for 45 minutes under infrared heat. I didn't go to beauty/hair school, but even I knew that was a mistake. My daughter spoke up, but the stylist assured her that it would be fine. It was not. She destroyed her hair beyond recognition - it was fried, with clumps of hair falling out. The stylist had to cut off 6 inches of her hair from the damage she had done, and the color is something you could not even imagine. This girl was new and did not have the experience to take on color correction - a novice. Someone -- the owner or a senior stylist should have monitored this and stepped in to take over, but no one did. The photos speak volumes - 1) daughter's natural blonde color 2) her as a brunette 3) daughter's attempt at lightening it 4) Lotus stylist results I tried to contact owners before this review, but there wasn't a direct email for either of them. Furthermore, there was no attempt from anyone to contact me or apologize to her. Unbelievable. If this were my business, I would be mortified. I wish I could give zero stars, but unfortunately, it's not an option.

No one tried to charge me extra for natural hair. I observed an up-to-date, clean salon. The stylist all had healthy hair which is important to me. The all had good color jobs, clean ends, and healthy hair. I found no smokey hair dryers w/clients sliding into their seats because their scalp was being burned. Reputable products were being used. All clients had great edges & no broken fly aways. Most of all the customers seemed happy and everyone had healthy bouncy hair. I showed up the next day with my hair pre-poo'd with my oil mix and my bag of goodies. I pulled out my shampoo, beer rinse & homemade conditioner & no one flinched. LILY washed my hair and gave me the best head massage. She respectfully followed all my directions, carefully distributing all my products from root to tip with great care. She also carefully detangled my hair. Ok wash went well. Now my roller set & styling... MORENA moved through my natural roots with no problem & set my hair so my roots were laying flat. She was genuinely concerned w/what I wanted so when I explained I wanted the blow dryer set on low w/a light pass over my roots she happily obliged. She even ran dryer on cool which gives your hair more elasticity. Ladies when I tell you this was best Dominican experience ever!!! Not once did I hear my hair snap due to aggressive combing, nor did I ever feel heat on my scalp. She never tried to force me into something that was convenient for her. I am a 5 year USMC veteran that was going through a pretty tough time before finding this job so this messenger bag was one of the few things I asked for and a big deal to me. My mom had this item shipped to her business, 3 doors down from this salon. After waiting an extra week AFTER when the item should have arrived via UPS, she got curious as to why it hadn't shown up. She called UPS, who informed her that it had arrived a week earlier and had been signed for by someone named Heather. My mother, saddened that filing a lost item claim with UPS would result in the gift not arriving in time for Christmas, did some more investigating. She walked into the flooring business next door and asked if anyone had signed for a package; they hadn't. Even more dejected, she decided to continue down the strip of stores in that shopping center. When she walked into the salon she asked if someone named Heather worked there. Heather happened to be the receptionist at the very front. She asked Heather if she had signed for a package that didn't belong to the salon. Heather staunchly denied this. Then, my mother confronted this woman, letting her know that UPS had already confirmed that a package had been signed for by a woman with her name. Heather, cornered, first pulled a box from behind the counter that was the wrong size and shape (a different package she has apparently stolen). My mother told her that this package was not the one. THEN, she went into the back and brought out the ALREADY OPENED package with my mother's name on it and my messenger bag inside. My mother asked why she had signed for the package, opened it, realized it wasn't for the salon, and kept it even though the proper address for the package was THREE DOORS DOWN. The woman huffed and replied indignantly that the salon was very busy before turning the package over to its proper owner, my mom. This was a FULL WEEK after the package had arrived. Good on you salon for allowing this type of thing to happen in your establishment, it speaks volumes to the level of decorum and class that your management must expect of the people operating out of there. Thankfully, my mom didn't let you steal from me. I'll be more than happy to pull this review down if/when this woman is terminated, but otherwise I will be copy/pasting this review wherever I can so that it's clear what kind of operation you're running here.
