The staff here is great! I love that you can book online with ease. The stylist I picked (after looking through their work on a few of their IG pages) was great! She answered all my questions, did what I asked, gave advice, was patient, and was cool to chat with during the appointment. The vibe was cool. It was a little quiet when no blow dryers were running, so everyone could hear others' conversations, lol. That's probably my only complaint, and it's a minor one. I was overcharged (I was charged for what I booked online but it was changed at the appointment, so it was an easy error -- not like someone did something wrong). I emailed after the appointment and they refunded me right away. Love this place! read more

Three years of living in Atlanta, I've finally found a salon I can call home. It's hard to believe Kith + Kin only opened two years ago because it has all the trappings of a cozy yet professional salon - high-end products, a beautifully decorated space, easy online appointments, and masterful hair artists. When I made my appointment for a balayage, they were the only salon I've ever met that recommended I come in for a consultation so that my hair artist could examine my hair and discuss options. Yes, it was an extra trip but because of it, we had the time to game plan with such specificity that I was led to wonder why other salons don't think to recommend the same. Melissa Corley is an absolute magician with color. If her Instagram (@shearfabulous) didn't already speak to her skill level, then the results of my appointment certainly did. For years, I've carried my dreams of an ashy balayage color from one salon to another, only to be told why I couldn't achieve the look because of my Asian hair (or given brassy, orange tresses instead at a previous salon which shall not be named). Melissa not only accomplished the color to a tee, she took the time to explain the process and how to take care of my hair after the appointment. None of her recommendations felt pushy or commercially-oriented; after spending nearly five hours with her, I can attest to her warmth and passion for her craft. To wit, while we were talking about her upcoming surgery, she seemed more distressed about getting her current clients' hair taken care of before the procedure more than her own recovery. Even when we went slightly over our appointment, she took the time to take these pictures - even walking me to different parts of the salon in search of good lighting. And truly, it turned out better than I imagined. Better yet, I got a cut with dreamy layers that I didn't even plan on getting. Everyone here is incredibly warm and welcoming. I must have received at least four offers for complimentary beverages (water, wine, coffee - you name it, they have it). I also particularly appreciated the super comfortable, luxe chairs at the sink so I didn't have to tip my head against hard porcelain as one typically does at other salons during a wash or a color job. If anyone else in the Atlanta/Sandy Springs area is in search of a go-to salon for their own cut or color jobs, I would absolutely recommend Kith and Kin, especially Melissa! read more

Needed an emergency appointment for my wife who hadn't had her hair cut since Covid and our daughter was getting married in California. These people were great. They were very understanding and supportive. Got us a quick appointment and we're so warm, friendly, laid back, helpful and professional. Exactly the place we needed to be. I had my first appointment with Nika at Kith and Kin Salon. She is absolutely AWESOME. I have been having issues with shedding and just maintaining my curly hair. We spoke a little about what I wanted to improve on especially moisture and understating how to maintain my curls. Most salons always push for straightening my hair, she actually discussed the benefits of certain options of curly hair, styling, maintaining and treatments. I opted for a wash, treatment, and trim. She trimmed my hair around the shape of my face and styled it, keeping it curly. But giving me options on what I could do given time constraints and just realities of taking time for healthy curl hair treatment. The price was reasonable. I was in and out within an hour and I still felt this was a personalized session. I believe I have found my hair stylist and salon. Thanks Nika! read more

Was in the salon yesterday to see Tanner. He always does such a fantastic job on my hair-- the perfect blonde that ages well so I don't have to do a ton of up-keep (I average 4-5 months between visits bc it grows out so well without a hard hard line) and a cut that works perfect whether I leave my hair curly or blow it out. Also gotta give a shout-out to Kith + Kin for their safety protocols. Touch free fixtures in the restrooms, lots of Clorox wiping, everyone in masks. It felt really safe. Melissa is amazing! I've had my hair colored for over a decade. A friend recommended Melissa when I moved back to Atlanta about 4 years ago. Now I can't imagine going to another stylist ever again. I always get variations of balayage. The cut and color always turns out gorgeous after each appointment. She is patient. She takes her time to understand what you want and her recommendations never come off as pushy. The work she does is flawless and you can tell she loves her craft. She is kind and a pleasure to be around when I am there. My balayage looks beautiful, natural and not overdone. I get compliments on it even 6-12 months after a treatment. She is usually booked so you will need to get an appointment early but it is worth it. Melissa is exceptionally talented and I can't imagine going to another stylist. read more

I went there today to get highlights and waited 15 minutes while the whole salon was having a social around this one client. I was told that I would have to wait five more minutes while they socialized around this client. You didn't take care of me.   I had an appointment and you decided to have a party/class while I was there for my appointment. In order to grow as a company, you will need to have good customer service instead of having a class while a customer is waiting for their service. I was told just five more minutes when I inquired about my appointment. They offered me another stylist. I do not want another stylist.  I will tell everyone that I know how you treated me.  Maybe you will learn from your mistake. You should not take a chance to learn from each other when they have an appointment with a client. I am very disappointed in the customer service that I received from you, and the snotty email that I received from the salon director.. It is not my fault that you left me sitting in the lobby.  My time is important. "Very Poor Customer Service". They don't care about their customer or their time. It was like I was not there, and everyone was focused on this one customer. I will not be back at this salon because of the attitude of the Salon Director. It used to be a GREAT salon but it has become a salon with a stylist and a salon director who have big egos and don't care about the customers. I went here to get my hair bleached for the first time and they were extreme professionals at what they did. Even though the process of my hair took about 8-10hrs, but they made sure to stay with in the budget limit of the time and to also make sure the customer is satisfied and they are treated with extreme care. They made sure my hair got its full service with bleaching and toning with out any extra charges and to do a follow up to see if everything is good. Love the place! read more

This was probably the best experience I've ever had at a salon.  I am a nonbinary identifying individual and was looking for a queer friendly salon. I found Kith + Kin through Strands for Trans - sometimes it is really anxiety inducing and hard to go to a salon and be like "hey please make me look androgynous as possible" or show a male reference picture while presenting more femme and vice versa. Already knowing that they were a welcoming environment eased my concerns and anxieties - after the check in process I felt completely comfortable and safe.  My stylist was Courtney and she was absolutely amazing. Not only did she did she give me the exact style I wanted, she went above and beyond to show me how to style it multiple ways (including for at the gym). I'm 11000% going to be back. It was such a comfortable and validating experience. It's really nice to roll up to a place and leave with exactly what you want while also feeling seen. I had face-framing highlights with Landri and it was an absolute unmitigated disaster. Aside from the fact that you could hardly even notice the difference, she completely FRIED my hair with add on services I never requested or wanted, she insisted on drying it even though I said I didn't want her to (it was raining outside), and the total ended up being more expensive than the full highlights I've had in the past (from people who actually know what they're doing). I had found the salon on Yelp and then researched further on Instagram. I totally loved how they marketed the salon it was definitely the vibe I was looking for. When I walked in I was greeted and welcomed in by the front desk. I met with my stylist Courtney and I felt like she really listened to me. She gave me a complimentary treatment that smelled amazing and made my hair feel like silk. She gave me exactly what I needed and wanted!! I'm obsessed with my hair now thanks to her. I have wavy, frizzy hair and she totally nailed the blow dry style. She really took the time to educate me in all of the amazing products she used on me and her professional recommendation.
