The biggest issue is that when I tried calling to resolve this with Elite Group they kept sending me to a call center and saying they'd call me back but never did. I don't usually leave reviews--good or bad--but this time, I feel it's necessary. Buying my first home is an exciting experience, but there's a lot to take care of, including the home inspection. Since we already occupied the house, all our belongings were inside. When I called Elite Group, I chose them because I expected a thorough inspection. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Despite explaining our situation over the phone, no one advised me to clear certain areas for inspection. When the inspector arrived, he was professional and courteous--no complaints there. However, after he left, I received a partial report. Several key areas were not inspected simply because items were in the way (e.g., occupied outlets, under-cabinet spaces, etc.). I called the next day and was told a supervisor would reach out. Honestly, I wish he hadn't. Instead of offering real solutions, he just kept repeating the same thing: they don't move items. I understand that--it was clear from the report. But the issue is that I was never informed beforehand so I could prepare. As a result, some areas were left unchecked, leaving me with an incomplete inspection. They did offer to come back for another inspection, but at that point, I had lost trust in their thoroughness and didn't have the time to go through the process again. Bottom line: I expected better service and communication. There are definitely companies out there that prioritize thorough inspections and customer service. Now, I have to schedule a second inspection with someone else just to cover what was missed. read more

This company was recommended for a home inspection. Roy Knox, the certified inspector arrived on time, ready to begin the inspection. He asked me if I had any questions during the inspection to let him know. At the end of the inspection, he reviewed his findings and why they should be repaired or modified, which was very helpful. I paid for the inspection at the property with cash, but they provided an email with various ways to pay them, even through escrow. The full report was received by email in a timely manner and Roy's professionalism throughout the inspection made the experience seamless. I would recommend this company for a property inspection. Absolutely terrible. We are spending tens of thousands to fix the POS house we bought that was all "normal for the age". Inspection was 8/4. Discovered excessive problems in September. Literally water from outside- coming inside in multiple parts of the house. My husband and I just entered into Escrow on a home in Vista, so naturally we're nervous after all the problems we've had with our condo. We definitely wanted to get an inspection done so we'd know what we're getting into, but we were worried that since the holidays are so close we wouldn't be able to get someone out within the allotted time frame. Our realtor had great things to say about Elite, so I submitted a request online and within minutes someone contacted me and set our appointment for the same week. Corey came out and spent over 2 hours going over our little 1344sqft property with a fine tooth comb. He made a point to ask us if there was anything specific we wanted to be on the lookout for, but other than typical things like pipe and electrical function we couldn't think of much else. At the end of his inspection, Corey took time to sit with us and explain his findings in a simple comprehensive way. He pointed out little details that we had missed, like water spots on the ceiling from past leaks or little cracks in the grout. He even made little suggestions on how we can effectively and affordably, as well as ways to maintain our home. The same evening, we received his full report with pictures pointing out areas of concern along with his recommendations, all neatly organized and easy to follow. This is more a review of Ben Carr, an inspector working for or contracted by Elite Group, then of Elite Group as an entity as out olnly experience with Elite Group involves a condo inpsection done Mr. Carr. As detailed in emails to Elite Group, Mr. Carr either missed or dismissed as insignificnant several problems, most of wihich were obvious at a glance, resulting in us having to make multiple repairs that should have been the seller's responsibility and should have been completed before we moved in and discovered the the problems outselves. Rather than lisiting the multiple problems that led to our opinion that Mr. Carr is grossly imcompetent, we will offer to share these emails with anyone who may wish to contact us for more details. As for Elite Group the entity, our concerns are that it would hire or contractor with an inspector of, in our opinion, Mr. Carr's apprenent lack of skill and that when we contacted Elite Group, it sent a non-responsive stock reply basically saying "go file a claim here if you want to." As a result of all of this, we wouldn't recommend Elite Group or Mr. Carr for even the simplest inspection imaginable. read more
