Some friends and I all got tattoos from this shop, and every single one of us had issues. One friend was quoted a price, but midway through the tattoo, the artist realized they had underquoted her. Instead of honoring the price, they completely botched it--it's crooked, uneven, and blotchy, with half of it way darker than the rest. It started off fine, so I don't know why it suddenly got so bad after they were told the actual price. Another friend got two tattoos from the same artist, and both were messed up. One even had a missing part of the design and was crooked. When one of us tried reaching out about a bad tattoo, they were told to email, only to be ignored. She decided to go all in and get the outer conch ($55) and daith ($75). All the prices included our jewelry (we didn't get anything extra or special). Due to Covid, you need to make an appointment to come in, but for quick things like piercings or consultations you can call ahead for a same day appointment. John pierced us super quickly and we were in and out within 30 minute tops! Super kind and professional service from the woman at the front desk and John. My sister got John's card so that she can return because he does tattoos as well! The shop was very clean inside and there is a decent sized lot around the back of the building. Took my ugly scar belly button to hidden scar hottie belly button. Recently dropped 45 lbs and wanted a cute belly ring again. Shop was impeccably clean, you could smell it as soon as you walked in. He said he would happily fill in the r for me, no charge. I saw him today and I got my penguin tattoo. He showed me different sizes and sued the one that I wanted. We worked together to find the spot I was aiming for. He did a lot of filling and took mini breaks to ensure I was not in pain. After completing the tattoo, he gauzed me up. He then went to fill in my other one. He even filled in some other letters that simply faded over time. He was very generous and wanted to make me happy. He also kept checking to see if I was comfortable. They do cheap piercings here as well. My sister only paid $35 I beleive for a cartilage piercing with a cute stud. Orhan is super professional and kind. He kept up the conversation to keep me distracted, as he said this one would hurt more due to a lot of shading. The penguin tat is on my side. I was on an angle when I took it and my camera quality is not the best. I also cropped the picture which distorts quality. It is completely filled in though. It is not centered on my neck, nor round like the google image he was given as a reference. A simple Yin Yang tattoo now looks like an oval with different sizes dots in the middle And uneven ink saturatio. I bled an unusual amount from the tattoo for four hours after. The photos should speak for themselves. Now John the owner wants to claim that Adam never worked at the shop earlier this year.... That's a new level of gaslighting I've never experienced. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I went to get my naval re-pierced because they are who did it the first time. However, this time the piercer, John, was notified that both of my holes were open, but one wasn't large enough to fit the bar through. He proceeded to pierce and by the end of my session I had three holes. Two old and one brand new because HE MISSED THE ORIGINAL HOLES!...I went back and he "fixed" it. He ripped the bottom two holes to make one hole, by forcing the jewelry from one side to another. I will not EVER be back personally. For someone who has their license in this he should've done a much better job. I don't recommend. Elite ink needs a new and educated piercer. Peoples bodies are not a job you can just wing. But I have gotten two piercings from this place and it always seems like a rushed job and whenever I ask the piercer to replace my piercing spot he looks at me like I'm stupid. Elite Ink in Centerline is 5 stars in all of those areas. Ashley L did an amazing job putting my tattoo on me, but she also spent time consulting beforehand and working with me to enhance the art that she was going to do so that the finished product was better than the original artwork, even. Piercing is crooked even after I told the guy it looked crooked but he insisted it was straight. I'll just do it myself next time. Waste of $55, had to take it out. It looked terrible and sooo off center. Also, they do not offer refunds, even if they are at fault for an askew piercing. They will only offer to re-do it, but at the risk of it being messed up again, I chose not to return and would prefer to go to a different piercer with better aim. Would not recommend. With every review response it says "this is not a typical experience" but after reading the reviews on multiple sites, it seems bad piercing is pretty common and the most reported complaint. Awful service overall. I called ahead and made an appointment to get a navel piercing. The first woman who answered was very friendly but sounded confused. I scheduled an appointment for around 2pm and when I arrived and walked in and let the receptionist know what I was there for. Then the woman whom I met at the front desk used profanity and told me that the woman who I talked with over the phone had never written down the time of my appointment therefore the no one knew and the piercer left for the day but would return around 5pm. I left and returned at 5pm and got the piercing done, but the overall process was a mess. When I had gone back to get the piercing done the piercer was very short with me and barely spoke at all, and now that I think about it, I left the shop without even knowing his name. The piercing itself was not painful at all and I would rate it a 1/10 but the pain that came after became a 9/10 very quickly. Over the next few days the piercing started getting itchy, very red, and seemingly close to an infection as well as the top ball of the ring started pressing deeper into my skin causing a small dent. I figured I needed a longer bar instead of the one I had so I called back the shop and asked to come in for a consultation in hopes to get a longer bar out in for it to heal properly. I returned days later and the same piercer greeted me, still with a cold attitude, and immediately told me they don't offer longer bar options. And thinking about it, when I initially got it done I was told there would be different ring options Id be able to choose from but that wasn't true. Anyways, when I was there so that he could look at it and i explained the pain is been in, he quickly just told me that he could put a hoop in it and it would heal fine. I agreed, but he did it very quickly and aggressively that I ended up being in a lot more pain than I had been in before I returned. Turns out that I was only able to keep my new piercing for about half a week due to it becoming more infected even though I had been taking care of it properly. I eventually decided to just take it out because the pain had reached a high level and when I truly inspected the whole area I realized my actually belly button wasn't even pierced!!! The ring was pierced right ABOVE my navel and through a part of my stomach!! Appalled, I began to look up reviews of this shop and found out this happens quite often here. I found other reviews of people who got their navels pierced here and the same thing happened to them too! I've heard good things about this shop previously but from what I've seen, it is run by unprofessional, non caring, cold individuals. I got my fourth tattoo here at Elite Ink and Rick was my artist. My girlfriend was also with me and she got one too (her ninth). The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The facility is very nice, especially the lounge area which is separate from the front lobby. They have a TV, a pool table, a foosball table (my favorite), and bubble hockey with nice leather chairs for you to chill on while you observe the artwork on the walls and the overall cool things to look at. Rick expressed the most sincere interest in ensuring that the ideas we had for our pieces were well-thought out and well-executed. He's a real down-to-earth guy who has a penchant for laughs. In other words, a very desirable person to shoot the shit with for a few hours. My girl went first and Rick did a fantastic job from start to finish to be communicative and share his knowledge and advice. What started as an idea was turned into a very fantastic piece, with Rick being attentive all along the way to ensure that she agrees with the ongoing direction of the piece. Rick makes a point to show you HOW and WHY he is a professional, but not in the way of a braggart. This is a man who takes pride in his craft and is happy to share it with you simply because he loves applying tattoos day in and day out. My turn arrived to get a piece on my left calf and Rick instructed me to not dive onto the chair so as not to faceplant (sage advice). I pretended I was tough as the sweet needles penetrated my skin and delivered the beautiful and soul-cleansing experience that is putting permanent artwork on your body that will stay with you forever. I don't recommend going here for a tattoo removal. I had a Groupon, and didn't have a good experience. The tattoo removal process takes place in their back storage room which didn't feel very clean or sterile. They didn't offer pre-treatment numbing cream or anything. The staff was nice, and if I were getting a tattoo, I'd feel comfortable going there, but for removal I did not. Obviously the removal process is painful anywhere, but if you are looking to get your tattoo removed go to the Skin and Vein Center in Sterling Heights, who has the most updated laser. I started going there and my tattoo has begun to fade much faster and I am so much more comfortable in the environment (it's sterile, there are doctors, they track your progress and offer lots of information) and the price is completely comparable. They also give you numbing cream to use pre-treatment. It helps (but obviously it's still a painful procedure). read more

We met John and he was seriously super nice. He talked to me and explained to me the best size to start with to gauge my ears and show me jewelry. Two friends and I went to this place first for Friday the 13th after our overnight work shift. We got there around 9:48am because we knew the place opened at 10am, which was perfect for us since we finished work early. We noticed three other customers sitting in there, looking at the pages of available tattoos for that sale. The OPEN sign was also on and the door was unlocked when a friend of mine tested it, so we figured they just opened up a little early for some reason and stepped inside to see. When we walked to the counter, the lady there gave us a sour look and said that they weren't even open yet, and tells us that she "guesses" we can sign in anyway since we're already inside before repeating that they didn't open for another few minutes. Why were customers inside already, and why did they unlock the door, then? Did she act this way to the others as well? I was so confused. She didn't explain much about the process either (different shops go about this Friday the 13th thing in varying ways--whether it's paying up front first or paying with cash only--and people usually explain how things will go for the people who sign up for a tat that day), and didn't hand us a copy of the 5 pages of available tats. After we signed in and sat at one of the benches for a couple minutes, one of my friends went to go ask for a copy of the pages to browse since we weren't handed one at all. I was already NOT getting a good impression of this place. After looking through the options, one of my friends went to go ask how big these tattoos would be, and the lady said "the size of a stamp." They were asking for $31 for a simplified tattoo, the size of a stamp. So my friends and I left. As I stepped out of the shop, I heard the lady say in a louder voice behind us that she guessed this wasn't the right shop for us. Really didn't appreciate unnecessary comments. One of my jobs always says that the cashier is the first and last thing customers see before leaving the place, and that greeting people and leaving a good impression is important. It really is. Not coming back for any kind of service. They really gave a horrible first impression. Ended up getting a tattoo at 13th Hour's shop for $31 plus tip, but with way better customer service from all workers there and definitely bigger than the size of a stamp. Very disappointed about Elite Ink because I looked at all the sample art against the wall and they were gorgeous. I had been thinking that a future detailed tattoo here would be amazing, and I'm sure the actual artists are amazing people, but I won't be coming back here. So whoever it was at the counter that greeted us sourly, I would suggest you work on your customer service, because the way you spoke to us was not cool. : ( EDIT: Saw the business owner's response to my review and I have to say I am doubly disappointed in the lack of professionalism. Hello My name is Charlene and I got a piercing done on Sunday from the Dearborn Heights location. I went to get septum piercing that morning and it was hurting like hell! At first I just thought the ring he used was just too big so I called them to ask them what gag do they start with for that piercing they said 16" my daughter just got hers done on Thursday very pretty nice and cute but at a different place. So today is Tuesday it's still hurting like crazy and very swollen I called the person who did my daughters which is another professional place and he told me to come in so he can look at it.... Just to find out it's very wrong it's not even where it's suppose to be for a septum piercing. He recommended me to take it out because it's painful and very swollen and to come back in two weeks. I called Elite in Centerline because Dearborn is closed today and left a message to speak to a manager. I want my money back! It wasn't in the correct spot, my nose is very swollen and I'm in pain. I went in to get two small tattoos done. I saw the artists work and I was confident it would be done well. Unfortunately she rushed both tattoos and when I asked about the birthdate tattoo she reassured me she was very good and it would look fine. I doesn't look fine because a letter was smeared and could not be corrected. The Roman numeral was better but not impressive. I went back to get the Roman numeral fixed up that same day and the other artist who helped admitted that some artists don't take small tattoos seriously because they don't require much..... so now I have two tattoos that are mediocre at best from the top tattoo place in Michigan.
