About 10 minutes later, we placed our food order: a chicken quesadilla, chicken enchiladas, and a chicken enchilada/taco combo. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. After waiting nearly 45 minutes for our food, the table that had arrived before us had already finished their meal and was paying their bill. By that point, we had run out of chips and salsa. The salsa itself was disappointing as well, tasting more like plain tomato sauce than fresh salsa. Our waitress then informed us that they had run out of chicken and were cooking more. We understand that things happen, and we appreciated being told, so we agreed to wait a little longer after being assured the food would be ready in about 10 minutes. A little over 10 minutes later, our food arrived. The chicken quesadilla was cold, while the enchiladas and combo plate were very hot. The enchiladas themselves were disappointing. Rather than traditional rolled enchiladas, they seemed to be folded tortillas with a small amount of fatty dark-meat chicken, covered in sauce and cheese. The texture and presentation weren't what we expected, and the tortillas seemed stale. We understand that restaurants can have off days and that running out of ingredients isn't always avoidable. What left us most disappointed was that there was little acknowledgment of the long wait or the issues with the meal. A simple apology or effort to address the situation would have gone a long way. We were hoping to find a local spot we could come back to regularly, but unfortunately this visit didn't leave us with that impression.
