Finding a jeweler who "gets" you can be a challenge. Jewelry can be very personal. I stopped in one day just to "window shop". Stephanie Weber spent likely an hour showing me a myriad of sparkly things, but also getting to know me. She is very intuitive and thoughtful in her words and suggestions. I didn't feel like I was being sold or pressured in any way, but was spending time with a new friend. My, now fiance, purchased my beautiful engagement/wedding ring from Stephanie. She helped take my very random thoughts and perusing into a suggestion for a ring which I am entirely in love with. More recently my sister and I have been back to EDC with our mother to create some new pieces from heirloom jewelry and stones. Stephanie continues to be amazing; Cody Pinnick as well. They have taken our ideas and pictures to create some beautiful sketches for our future designs. I've also had some things repaired here as well and the results have been great thus far. Having grown up with a family friend who is a jeweler, I'm always skeptical of "jewelry stores" and sales people. EDC has proved to be a very different and unique experience. Beware of selling any gold to them. I saw their ad so I took some 18K gold items to sell while the price of gold is high. At the time of my visit the price of an ounce of pure gold in the commodities market was $2051. To calculate the price of scrap 18K gold; the formula is as follows 2051/31 ( there are 31 grams of gold in an ounce ) = $69. This is for pure 24 K gold gram. For 18K this price is multiplied by 0.75 while for 14k the price of pure gold is multiplied by 0.585. This is THE SCRAP PRICE one should receive when selling gold. By this calculation I should have been offered $2100. Instead their offer was for $865 and she kept trying to make me believe that this is the scrap price apparently determined by some app that "all the jewelers in Dayton have"! This is complete deception. If I were to accept this price I would literally be paying them $ 1300 because if they were to get this gold melted this is what they would get for it. read more

I was very pleased with the service I received at Elizabeth diamond. The first person I came to when I entered the building was Eric and he was very helpful. After I told him What I was looking he showed me what I wanted. He offered to clean all the jewelry I was wearing and they were amazing how they came out. I have had my jewelry cleaned at other jewelry stores but at Elizabeth diamond it was like I had just bought new jewelry, they were so beautiful. Updating to respond to the comments left by someone at the company. The person I spoke to was named Jim not the lady that replied. Thank you for correcting which amendment I was referencing (that has been corrected) as I wrote the follow up immediately after I was berated, threatened, and spoken to as if I was a child. And as such was highly upset. I don't take kindly to being treated in that manner, I came to the appointment expecting some actual concern for why I was upset in the first place. In the meeting was told by Jim not the lady that replied about my visit that I was "wrong" specifically several times and was not given the opportunity to have a conversation with him about my opinions or concerns. Once again your company shows, what I consider to be, a complete lack of customer service or consideration in your reply by using sarcasm and condescension about what I had to say. I have already conceded that I was incorrect in my math; which wouldn't have occurred in the first place if the sales associate had talked to us about what we were buying. I even had the ring appraised incorrectly because the associate did not talk to me about what I was buying. I'm sure your response is that it is my responsibility to know that information, hence the research I did following, and the resulting review that I was so upset about prior. I updated my review to show the facts of the situation, admitted to the errors I made, and now once again voiced my displeasure at how your company has continuously mistreated both myself and my fiance. ---------- So I'm updating my review based on my second experience with this company. The general manager tracked me down through my fiancé who bought the ring and asked to speak to me about the review. I ended up scheduling a time with him over email. Today I went in to see him. He said he had my verragio card and box that I was missing in the first review, which he did in fact have but I still do not. (I'll get to that shortly). I arrived for our agreed upon meeting time, was taken back into his office and he explained to me how I was wrong about their pricing of the ring. I'll consent that the sales associate did not explain the ring I was buying so from basic research I looked to have been ripped off. He asked what I planned to do now that I knew I was wrong. I said I would update the review to show the facts. He then asked why I didn't come to the store. I said I felt the associate wasn't very clear about what I was buying, warranties and the like I wasn't given a chance to finish the conversation before he cut me off and said there were signs everywhere and he had grounds to sue me for my review. He said my words were inaccurate so he would sue me. I got up and left. I did not appreciate being threatened for having an opinion or viewpoint. I have a first amendment right to free speech and I'm exercising it once again in relation to what has occurred. I went in prepared to update my review if things had gone differently. I was prepared to update the review as high as 3 stars had they actually given me my box and card, had a good explanation for what I had perceived as price gouging. I can't speak to their diamond certifications as I don't care enough to check the GIA site again. But to have gone in there and been attacked, threatened and insulted I am standing firm in saying 1 star. Do your research before you go into that store and make sure you understand what you're buying. And if you have a bad experience and voice it. Be careful. They will threaten you with suit. My fiancé and I definitely have a lot of great things to say about EDC and especially the sales manager/designer Cody Pinnick. Our first encounter with EDC is when my fiancé went there randomly and out of the blue to buy me a ring for our anniversary. The ring was and is beautiful, and the first thing she said to me after I opened it was "I really liked this place. It was cute and quaint and very personable and I think we should get our wedding rings from there." So that is what we did and we are extremely happy with our decision. We went to the Centerville store one day and spent hours looking at rings and that is when we met Mr. Cody Pinnick. We were talking to a different sales rep and were mentioning how we liked different aspects of all the rings and they told us that we could design our own and introduced us to Cody. My fiancé and I hit it off with him immediately. He is just awesome and we had a fantastic experience working with him on our jewelry. We consider him one of our really good friends now and will be honored to have him attend our wedding in less than a year. We are both extremely picky when it comes to jewelry (and almost everything else in life), and Cody put in a lot of time to design two rings for us that we are absolutely in love with. We had complete control over how we wanted the rings to look and all the details and Cody would give his complete honest opinion only when we asked him for it. There was no pressure at all, and EDC worked strictly in our own personal budget. We get a million compliments on our engagement rings, and it's a totally different feeling knowing that your ring is 100% unlike any other person's in the world. I could write pages and pages about everything we love about EDC as a company and Cody as a person and as a sales rep as well as all the other people who work at the Centerville EDC store. We feel like family every time we walk through the door, and we couldn't imagine getting our rings/jewelry from any other place. I went to the Troy, OH location of EDC and was helped by Nancy Havener. I wanted to have two rings made from the diamonds in an old family ring. One was for me, the other for my sister in CA. We had a limited budget to work with and an idea of what we wanted. We originally wanted custom rings made, but when we couldn't work them into our budget, Nancy searched and found pre-made settings that fit what we wanted and were spectacular. She communicated with me via email during the entire process and never gave up helping us create beautiful rings that we would be proud to wear and would always remind us of the family history behind the diamonds. I heard so much good things about EDC. At first things were going great. I did some research on Tanzanite stones, which I love. I decided on EDC to see what they had. My salesperson (which I dealt with before) was very personable and we hit it off well. I wanted to see some loose stones to compare,( their suggestion). They told me they sent for 2 stones to compare color, only one showed up, it was beautiful. We were told we could put it on layaway and that they could hold it for 5 days. Well, 2 days later I received a phone call that I had to make a decision that day, I was shocked. Since this was our first experience we felt pressured. My boyfriend saw I was visibly upset to tears. He wanted to take the pressure off of me so he went to pick up the stone. After he came home we talked about it and I said well at least we have 30 days. To my shock, he was told we didn't!!!! So I went back to talk to them. They were sorry, but that was about the jest of it. I went to another jeweler and was told that should have never happened. Don't get me wrong the stone is beautiful, and we could have said No. The principle of the whole experience was horrible. I'm having a gemologist look at the stone. If there is anything wrong with it, I will have to address the situation further. read more

OMG I Love my watch Omega Broad arrow that I got from Elizabeth Diamond Company. I live in New Jersey and Cody has been so patient helping me doing the research for the watch. I had my wife's wedding ring custom made about 2 years ago and 1 day before the wedding we had a small diamond fall out. EDC was great they got it fixed in one day and we were able to pick the ring up in time for the wedding. With that being said. 1 year after the wedding we have had three more diamonds fall out and now the center stone has also fallen out. I understand their policy of covering everything except the center stone for warranty, but I think that 4 diamonds right at 2 years is ridiculous. The customer service since having the center stone fall out has not been good. I took the ring to them to have them evaluate the ring and all they said is you need to claim it on insurance and then we will cut you a deal on your new center stone. They told my insurance that they could fix it for a certain price and then called me and said it was going to be a thousand dollars more than what the insurance had given me. I spent a little more than $10,000 on a ring and another 2,000 on earrings from there and have recommended multiple people to them but with this incident I have decided to have my ring fixed else where and will not be back. read more

I have been married 22 years to a wonderful man and have worn my wedding rings all 22 years without ever taking them off. Not a smart move, ladies. Especially since we all tend to gain a little weight after 50 and let's just say I am closer to that next major milestone than I am to 50. I had to get my original wedding rings cut off recently. Yes I said "cut!" I was terrified but it was painless and easy. This wonderful husband of mine informed me that he was planning to upgrade at the 25 year mark anyway and gave me carte blanche to get what I wanted. So....I did and it is a stunner! I shopped several jewelers in the area but by far, EDC is a superstar and shines brighter than all of the others. I worked with Cody and he is amazing. You can tell he loves what he does and wants to make sure the customer is happy while giving you the best value for your hard-earned $$$. I ended up with a platinum band and engagement ring that is celebrity-worthy. The eye-catcher is the emerald cut diamond (over a carat) in the center with a halo of beautiful diamonds and diamonds flanking both sides of the band. I have seen comparable designs in other stores (but lesser quality diamonds and craftsmanship) for a lot more $$$. Cody Pinnick helped my Fiance with my new Diamond Engagement Ring. He worked with him to ensure he got the exact diamond he wanted for the ring. They even went as far as taking a 1.75 kt diamond from a set of ear rings and it is beautiful! They were able to set the diamond and have it shipped to where we were vacationing for the proposal! My husband and I want to convey the wonderful service we received while working with Nancy Havenar at Elizabeth Diamond Company and express our appreciation and gratitude for the great work she does. My husband and I were in search of our wedding bands for our wedding in August 2014. When we came to EDC in Troy, OH we felt very welcomed by all of the staff there, they were all very happy and inviting. We were looking for something very specific for my wedding band. We wanted it to match my engagement ring perfectly. I had an idea, a vision, of what I wanted the ring to look like. We were primarily working with a newer employee and she was also new to the diamond industry, but Nancy was very involved and made sure everything was going smoothly. Nancy helped me look through all of the designer's rings they had in stock. She was very patient, understanding and listened to my thoughts on the rings. We examined the rings and even measured the rings from the width of the band, to the height, to the length of row of diamonds on the top of the band, to the very delicate, artistic edges noted on each side of the diamond row of the band. Nancy had such an attention to detail and understood what it meant to us to have a wedding band that matched my engagement ring perfectly. After looking through what they had in stock, and after looking through Scott Kay's stock online, we had found a ring that was close but not exactly what we wanted. This band had diamonds on multiple sides of the band, and we were only looking for diamonds on the top side. Nancy had gone above and beyond to help me find the perfect ring, but she didn't stop there. She called Scott Kay's manufacturer specifically to see if they could custom order this ring with only diamonds on the top, and they said yes. WOW! Nancy delivered my perfect ring! Nancy didn't let limitations of stock or design stop her from giving us my dream ring. My husband was also looking for a wedding band at EDC. We sat down and discussed different metals, and pros and cons and ring sizing. His ring was far easier to find and decision to make. So we ordered and purchased our rings and went on our way. About 1 month before the wedding, our rings came in and in a timely manner too. We both went to the store and tried on the rings. My ring was absolutely perfect, the exact vision of what I wanted. My husband tried on his ring, it was the correct size, design and metal but the ring didn't look quite the same as the ring we had viewed in the store's case. As it turned out, it was a thinner width than the one in the case, this had given the ring a more slender, and feminine look. My husband works outside everyday and uses his hands for work, and this ring didn't suit him. There had been a miscommunication between the newer employee and my husband and I. We were not aware that the ring with the thinner width had been ordered, we thought we were getting the exact ring from the case. I was in tears in fear that we would receive a product that he wasn't satisfied with and one that didn't suit him. But Nancy came to the rescue, Nancy heard our concerns, and eased my fears. She gave us options and immediately got on the phone to try to remedy the situation. The correct ring was ordered and she assured us that with about 1 month until our wedding, the ring would arrive in time. And she was right, 2 weeks before our wedding his ring arrived. It was perfect, correct size, metal, design, and width. It suited him perfectly. Nancy was instrumental in the purchase of our wedding bands. Nancy is kind, patient, understanding and relentless. Her attention to detail is impeccable and her customer service is unmatched. Nancy understood that wedding bands are only purchased once, and what it meant to us to have them be perfect. She also understood what it meant to have the rings arrive on time (especially my husbands), so that our minister could bless our rings (not a loaner ring) on our wedding day. I really can't say enough great things about Elizabeth Diamond Company and Cody Pinnick. The experience was fantastic from beginning to end. I had only dropped in to discuss options for my wedding ring that had been damaged when I hit it against a door. I thought that the center stone only needed to be reset, but upon their professional inspection, they found that the prongs were bent, the setting had been cracked, and it could not be repaired cost effectively. They helped us with filing a claim with our insurance company and we began the process of building a new setting with our existing diamonds. The entire process was smooth from beginning to end; and although I was unsure which direction I wanted to go with design, Cody was there to offer suggestions and help me visualize the design when I was unable to see it myself. And let me tell you, he knows what he's doing! Cody has the experience and knowledge to make beautiful jewelry, and he is a really awesome person that we enjoyed working with. My ring could not have come out any more beautiful!!! I nearly cried when I saw the finished product. From start to finish, EDC ensures that you're able to visualize the design through each step...from the sketch, to the 3D rendering (which looks like a photograph of the design), to the wax mold that you can try on, to the finished product. This experience is high on the list of best purchasing experiences we have had, and we couldn't be happier with the ring. We really loved working with Cody and everyone else there. I haven't purchased jewelry from EDC, but I recently used them for work on jewelry. My fiancé and I recently purchased a vintage wedding set. It was soldered and I wanted them unsoldered. I was referred to EDC for the work. The showroom is lovely and intimate. Just looking around they have beautiful and unique jewelry that would appeal to almost anyone. We were greeted warmly by the staff and offered snacks and beverages while we waited. We were helped by Tisha, she was so friendly and personable. She went over everything they could do and made me feel very comfortable. We had the rings unsoldered and also the mill grain work repaired as well. She also inspected the rings first to make sure there was nothing else that needed done. They do all the work on-site so I didn't have to worry about my ring being shipped off anywhere. I loved that we were given great service despite the fact that the jewelry wasn't originally purchased from EDC. My rings were ready a day before I expected and they came out even more gorgeous than I expected. The unsoldering was flawless and they even fixed a big scratch that was in the ring. The mill grain work looks so beautiful and detailed now, I didn't know my rings could look so stunning! I would recommend them to anyone, their service was great and their work on my jewelry went above and beyond what I expected. read more
