They told me that it was painless, quick, and simply the best. And they had a cancellation and were able to pencil me in same day! The woman I spoke with was also giving me a break down of insurance things trying to help me save money, but in the end I decided to bite the bullet and come in. Dr Berg had friendly bedside manner, I was told exactly what was going to happen step by step to calm my nerves, but since I had come from a dentist that didn't refer him, he did a sensitivity test which actually showed a different tooth was more sensitive to pain than the one I was brought in to get checked out for. He asked more questions to try to see what was going on and we ended up not having to do a root canal. He gave his recommendations and so far I haven't felt any pain since. He saved me from spending almost $1k since it's the end of the year my insurance was capped so it all would have been out of pocket. I may need to see him later if this doesn't continue to work, so I will update my review if that is the case or if later down the line I'll need a root canal. But I definitely don't understand why there are poor reviews on here...

My son had an accident t and needed emergency dental work after hours. I called the exchange line and not even 5 minutes after leaving a message I get a call from dr Burgdorf himself. He had me send pictures to his personal cell and had my sons teeth fixed the next day, even though he did not have regulate office hours. Such a relief to get my son fixed up. Thank you so very much for continuously displaying ssms core values of compassion and excellence. We will never change dentists. Thank you so much!!!

I had not been to a dentist in a very long time for a number of reasons. Well as I am getting older…read moreI accept that I need to take better care of my teeth. I now have insurance as well so I researched dentists on the insurance website. I located a dentist in my plan and called the office, only to learn that this dentist had retired and Dr. Burgdorf was now practicing in this location. I scheduled my new patient appointment and was able to get in within 3 weeks. I read the reviews the morning of my appointment and found them to be quite favorable so I was feeling very comfortable with my choice. After arriving and being greeted very warmly by Amy, Linda, the hygienist, walked me through the initial portion of the exam with a very thorough explanation. When Dr. Burgdorf arrived in the exam room he greeted me in a very warm manner as well and explained every step of the way in a positive and supportive way. He was very gentle and made me feel very comfortable. I had told him that it has been a long time since I was seen by a dentist and it was largely due to embarrassment of the condition of my teeth. He assured me that this was a judgment-free office and his job was to help me achieve my dental goals. I have a lot of work ahead of me but I feel very confident that it is going to result in amazing dental work in place and a lifelong dentist. I even brought home information to my daughter to encourage her to schedule an appointment for her needs. I would strongly recommend Dr. Burgdorf to anyone who is looking for a professional, compassionate dentist who offers a no-pressure approach to dentistry.

Was told that they required full payment up front, that they would submit the claim form and the insurance co would reimburse me. Got my EOB from Delta Dental to find out that the maximum charge should have been $1064 & my Out of Pocket max was $240. The check was sent to the dentist, not me. Called the office to be told that their office mgr wasn't in, she'd call on Monday. She did not. She left a voice mail on Wednesday while I was out of town on business. Call the office on Friday, and no one there to help. Their policy on their site says "As a courtesy to our patients, we will gladly file your insurance claims. We estimate your portion of the total fee based entirely on the information your insurance company gives us. We then require payment of your estimated portion at the time of treatment. " (stlrootcanals.com) They did NOT call the insurance co. If they had, I would have paid $240, not $1500. 4 weeks later, I cannot get the $1250 that I over paid. No one can answer any questions and I keep getting the run around. Submitted a fraud report to the insurance co and will send complaint to MO Dental Board. This is not right and they are not finding it to have any urgency whatsoever.
