10/15/2025: We stopped in for a late lunch when leaving Round Top. We were trying to avoid the RT…read moreart festival, so we opted for JW's in Carmine. The inside decor is all wood paneling. It's very country looking, so that was appealing. We started with the fried pickles for an appetizer to share. Our group was a party of 3. The pickles were a perfect split for us. The ranch served with the pickles had a tartar sauce undertone taste. It was pretty good. We all had the sweet tea and lemonade mix. It was refreshing. I ordered the regular JW's burger on a classic white bun. The burger was okay. There was no special seasoning to it. I wasn't able to order it medium. From the looks of it, it was "done", so that is a little too done for me. I like mine a little pink. They use leaf lettuce. I prefer shredded. The pickles on my burger were cut lengthwise, and 2 of the strips still had the outer skin on them. Not a fan of that. The fries were good. They had a nice crunch to them. The service was great at JW's. Our drinks were never empty, the food came out fast, and our waitress was very nice. You can't get better than country service. It was a nice change from Houston where everything is hustle and bustle. We all three split a piece of coconut pie. It was okay, but to be fair, I am not a pie person. My coworkers thought it was terrific. If I am out that way again and decide to stop in, I will order something different. Maybe the chicken fried steak. The neighboring table ordered it and it looked good! Our bill for the 3 of us was $71 and some change before tip. That seems on point for 1 appetizer, 3 drinks, 3 entrees, and 1 piece of pie. It was crowded, especially for a weekday after the lunch rush in the country, so they must be doing something right.

Nothing fancy, but the food is delicious and the service is courteous and attentive. We came in on a Tuesday evening and it was packed. Fortunately we got there earlier and were able to get seated immediately. Very family friendly as evidenced by the fact that they pulled an infant carrier stand out for our baby. I will say that the prices are on a steeper side; however, the portions are also generous. We had a pleasant meal here and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for good, southern comfort food.

They have a LARGE selection of seafood, some steak & chicken options and a few Chinese choices! We ordered their shrimp egg-rolls, (4 in an order) they were small but just enough for an appetizer. Hubby ordered the crawfish étouffée. I chose stuffed flounder then added a cup of shrimp étouffée as a topping. Food was delicious! Would definitely recommend!!

I'm also a first time mom and not working currently so my funds are low for spending. The staff (shout out to the ones I've met so far) Kevin, Brittany and Terrance took the time to explain how the cafe works. so many delicious options, I went with the jalapeno popper omelette which did not disappoint. Brittany helped navigate a coffee I would enjoy and I did! Try the Vietnamese iced coffee so good. my daughter and I sat outside and met Terrance, who came right up and introduced himself. made sure we were doing good and dj'd some great tunes. I'm not sure who was at the counter today but she was lovely. thank you all for the experience and great food

You place your order and then take a seat and when they bring out your food, you get a little pocket to put cash into to pay whatever you want. The food was great and it benefits addiction recovery. My only complaint is that they really really really need to put fans on the patio cause I was swatting away flies the entire time I was eating. I wouldn't eat outside again. I went for breakfast and had a 3-meat omlette which I actually couldn't even finish cause I was full. It was a little weird getting the apple juice in a cup full of ice but I guess I could have gotten more if I wanted it. I'd like to back for lunch sometime.

My son ordered the scallops and to say they were gritty was an understatement. And the service...well when we could flag our waitress down we got service. Otherwise she was nowhere to be found. My husband flagged down another waitress after we had been sitting there for 15 minutes without any water or drinks. We also had to flag her down for the check. Considering the price tag for the night, I expected the service to be better.

Greater was very apologetic for not sitting us right away but told us a 5 -10 minute wait would help them better serve us. Well said and kitchen thanks you for not stacking tables. You can tell they have well trained staff. They kept up with the business. You could tell the kitchen expo was on point because everything came out together hot and freshly garnished. Well orchestrated firing, plating, and serving. We enjoyed everything but especially the appetizers (fried green tomatoes and calamari). Of course one person had to get the chicken fried steak. I had the salmon....we finished off everything it was so good.
