Tonight, Feb 6 2026, we wanted takeout following a long work week and decided on steak & cheese subs for dinner. Our typical go-to for this sub is Elizabeth Pizza on Groomtown Rd. It was nice to see the restaurant was busy and well lite; it had a very lively environment that could be felt while waiting for our sandwiches. The wait time was surprisingly only about 10-12mins. The sandwiches were hot and full, which we only get sautéed onions and mushrooms and the meat to veggie ratio was good; however, there was no seasoning and barely any cheese. Not sure what was going on, we usually don't have to add salt, steak sauce, or anything to this sub but we did tonight. However, the main reason for the 3-rating is the price, close to $30 for two, 8-inch subs with chips. Imagine if we had sit down in the restaurant, we would have easily paid $45 once you add in soft drinks and tip. Prices in the new year are getting ridiculous. read more

Been coming by Elizabeth's Pizza for months now with some friends and absolutely love it! Perfect hangout spot and really friendly staff, though at this point, I think they know us by name. Food is delicious, I'm a big fan of the Shrimp Scampi, but really, everything on the menu is super tasty. My mouth is watering just thinking about the food at this location. They give you super large portions, and I've never had any issues with waiting for very long. They can also accommodate a lot of people, which is a big plus, good for large groups of people or birthday parties. read more

We (group of 6) dined at the Groometown Rd location in Greensboro NC on Sat night 4/4/26 around 5:30-6 pm. Our waitress, Marilyn, was absolutely amazing! We've never had such an attentive, efficient, sweet waitress! She was right there with drink refills, etc. but she did so without being "intrusive". She truly made us feel like we were the most important diners in the restaurant, and she did so while serving several other tables simultaneously! Our entrees were also very well-prepared and tasty. Food temps were flawless as well. Again, we appreciate the excellent service and great value for the prices. This was our first time trying this location. My family and I ate here for Mother's day. The ambiance was very nice as usual, however, our food collectively was the worst we've experienced at any Elizabeth's. We ordered Shrimp Scampi, Chicken Piccata and Chicken Parm. Everything was bland & lacked the richness of Italian food... no butter, oil or garlic to speak of. From the pizza lovers perspective, Elizabeth's is very basic. The pizza isn't bad but really it's pretty uninspired and I wouldn't say it's ever a first choice. They do have gluten free pasta options which is among the reasons I still go here despite not loving their pizza. This time, I returned to an old standard for a take-out order of pepperoni and pineapple pizza. If you've not tried that combination, I urge you to do so. A little sweet, some salt and spice from the pepperoni, and lots of melty cheese. This Elizabeth's location continues to be a place I enjoy ordering from when I am looking for a pizza of higher quality than the national chains. It can get a bit pricey sometimes, but if you order a large pizza on Monday or Tuesday nights, you get that with a topping for about 11 bucks. Plenty to feed two people twice. 3.5 Stars Elizabeth's Pizza is, I feel, the most consistent when it comes to making pizza's on this side of town. The crust is always the same. Thin, chewy crust like I would consider NY style to be. They don't skimp on the toppings, either. Sometimes it can use a little more time on a pizza stone once delivered but I feel that way about most pizzas. Sub wise, I think their Italian sub is the way to go. I base all of my opinions of other establishment's Italian Subs off of Elizabeth's. I don't know what it is because it's nothing fancy but I just feel it's a superior sub. Placed an order via phone at 8:21pm. for an 8-inch tuna sub with mayo on both sides of the bread. No vinger add banana peppers. Got home around 9:05pm. after working 12 hours shift.Got comfortable after my shower and opened my food to a dry ass turkey sandwich with heavy vinegar, lettuce, and tomatoes. I was there on 9/20/24 with my church family ; a group of about 40 people. I was one of the first 10 people to order. My meal was not served until everyone else had finished dinner. We arrived at 5:30 , I had my meal placed in a to go container, this was about 7;00 pm. They had the audacity to include a tip on my receipt. I should have been given a reduction in price. We are in town for a soccer tournament and needed a place for a team dinner. Our group of 25 were welcomed with no issues (we called an hour ahead) and the service was fantastic. There have been many times when my sports teams have decided to eat here, and I'm never disappointed. Elizabeth's on Groometown is spacious and excellent for groups. The staff here also handles groups well and provides superior service. As for the food, the eggplant parmesan is the winner. It's cheesy and fulfilling. If you are eating with a large group I also recommend buying a few pieces and just sharing. The pizzas here are huge and have the perfect cheese to sauce ratio. If you're hungry enough for an appetizer you should try the garlic knots. They're warm and flavorful and can hold you over until the main course is ready. I also hear the hot sandwiches here are tasty as well, but I never have the chance to try them. Elizabeth's has many options that you're bound to find something yummy to try. read more

As you can see from the picture the mozzarella was just laid on the top. My sister ordered the Alfredo and said it was good. I called & spoke with the manager who asked me what I wanted instead so I got the Alfredo which was better but needed some garlic salt. They also give u bread but it doesn't even look toasted and it's not butter nor does it comes with an oil dip. Honestly you're better off going to Olive garden. I got here kinda early, like 11:30 no one really here yet, but by 12:00 orders and customers started rolling in. I got the antipasto salad which was super fresh and had all the tasty toppings you'd expect. Ranch dressing was amazing, as a southern person this is very important. Out of the multiple Elizabeth's Pizza locations, this one is not my favorite. The cost is a little high for the quality and quantity of the food you get. I ordered baked ziti, which came with a salad. Also an order of mozzarella sticks with marinara. The mozzarella sticks were clearly something pre-made or frozen and quickly zapped to be consumed... The baked ziti was "okay" not terrible, but I wouldn't be upset if I never ate it again. To top this off, my bill was $25! To me, I got a $17 meal, considering no alcohol was ordered. The baked ziti seemed skimpy on the portion. And the mozzarella sticks looked like they had been run over! I've had great food here several years ago. Not sure what happened. read more

Very slow. Expected good service. Ordered a calzone. After 20 minutes, the waiter gave me the calzone Apparently the cook forgot hoq to cook a calzone. Ice cold fillings. I then ordered a fettuccine Alfredo, after another 15 minutes received a luke warm dish with no salad or bread. Was charged for the full meal, no apology. Disclaimer : my family and I are a crew of Italians from NJ, and we are particular about our pizza , pasta and sauce. From my 9 year old, who had the children's portion of cheese raviolis, which cane with 3 pieces, drowning in sauce. "They should have asked you if you want sauce, became some people don't really want sauce. Like if they're allergic to it or something. And me, particularly, I don't like sauce on my raviolis, so when I saw the sauce, I just washed it off with water. The raviolis were good, but I would prefer to eat somewhere else, because I feel like I've been to better restaurants than This. And you could probably find a better restaurant that's much cheaper." Ordered through Yelp and it got here pretty quickly, but the pizza seemed undercooked and was pretty soggy. Probably from them using cooked spinach on it rather than raw spinach. Sauce was bland and crust just wasn't great. Maybe going in the restaurant and not getting spinach would be better. Hate to say it, but wouldn't recommend ordering takeout from here. read more

This is normally one of our favorites. However, tonight was very disappointing. Ordered a large original Stromboli, but it wasn't cooked properly. The marinara sauce was mostly large chunks of tomato. Service was terrible. We rarely saw our server and had to ask for bread from the bus boy. My wife took the onions off her salad and placed them on one of the dinner plates that the server brought while we waited on the Stromboli. We placed that plate full of onions on top of the pizza stand. When he brought the Stromboli out, he moved the plate, sat the Stromboli down, sat the plate on the table, and started to walk away. Pulled the meat off and threw the rest away. Total price was $30.85 Asked if forks, etc were in the bag...the guy didn't know so asked how many I wanted..... So over all, a bad experience and spent more expecting better than chain pizza options. Wish I had selected the "chain" pizza delivery option. For the price, I could have had a steak. We visited this restaurant with a group of eleven midday after a graduation ceremony at UNCG...they quickly set up a table for us to sit comfortably and the waitress got right to work taking our drink orders and bringing out fresh bread baskets. I had the chicken philly sub lunch special with fries. It was $6.90 and was pretty good. I don't know that I'd recommend it or order it again because the meat was kind of chopped/shredded? and just kind of strange. The taste was okay, but the texture was odd and the portion of of meat/veggies/cheese to bread was lacking. The fries were average and unsalted as far as I could tell. Decent meal for the price, but nothing overwhelmingly good. Around me the other dishes were lasagna, stuffed shells, pizza slices and a HUGE stromboli. Everyone enjoyed their dishes, but the biggest raves came from the stromboli and the margarita pizza, though I didn't taste either. The prices were good, the lunch men full of offerings and the service was great! I would probably give it a three without the attentive service, but our waitress was awesome so I rounded up! The graduating nurse to be said she and her roomates frequented the location, so it might be worth another trip if in the area! read more
