This is the only skin care business in the area, so I tried it out. I went to get a Brazilian Wax*, and had Maria. She was wonderful, professional, and she knew exactly what she was doing. I have been getting Brazilians for years, and this was the BEST waxing I have ever had. You must ask for Maria. The only negatives would be the florescent lighting, which is a little severe. And each room is separated by walls, but they do not go all the way up to the ceiling. Lastly, the employees will try selling products to you, even when you are lying on the table. I was expecting a greater experience. As she does talk to you, it's very much a scam to get you to buy more products. Maybe she's not an expert in my skin type but I was highly disappointed with my facial as I still had many blackheads on my face. I won't be returning. She got extremely agitated when I didn't buy the products she suggested. I'm a student and can't really afford to be spending so much money. I was standing there listening to her explain and she quickly became agitated told me the price of the facial and when I asked about the product she risky told me "well I was talking to you about it the whole time so I put it back on the counter. It's on the counter because you didn't say anything." While the whole time she kept on explaining the product over and over again. I am a first time Brazilian waxer. And let's just say in reality, there is no such thing as a "completely painless" waxing experience. I mean, do people really expect ripping hairs off your body to be a "fun & enjoyable" experience? With that said, I called on a Saturday morning and was able to schedule my very first full Brazilian wax appointment within the hour. Nice store, nice female receptionist, nice wax technician (could not remember her name). Being a first timer, I did not know what to expect. When I got home, I did notice it wasn't as "clean" as I thought it would be. Needless to say, I recall that my first experience was not terrible, the girl was done with me in 15-20mins and the "pain" was definitely bearable. No cursing or screaming bloody murder was done, not even a flinch. I did buy their ingrown hair serum, which worked well. But I was definitely a bit disappointed with the stray hairs. However, a month later, I decided to give it another try before my birthday & vacation. This time I walked in on a Wednesday afternoon and was greeted by a man who almost rushed me out because I did not have an appointment. Luckily, the lovely Elizabeth herself, quickly appeared from the back and reassuringly asked me what I needed done. She told me her appointment had not arrived yet and she could quickly assist me. Elizabeth was done with me as QUICK, CLEAN & SIMPLE as she can be! I couldn't believe it. Now that I can compare the difference between my two experiences here, I will definitely be making my monthly wax appointment with Elizabeth only. I totally understand she is the owner and gets very busy but she really knows how to get the job done and has got to be the sweetest lady, therefore making this thought to be hell-ish experience a bit nicer :) read more

I WAS A SEVERE ADULT ACNE CASE : If you've never been to Elizabeth's Skin Care here's an insight to my experience of the treatment I received. I had very painful acne on my cheeks, forehead and chin. I could not believe the comments I received the next few days. People who did not know I did the facial were commenting about how great my face looked! I've been coming to this salon for over 15 years. They offer wonderful service and their prices are incredible. The owner takes great pride and care to make her salon exquisite- from the decorations to the customer service. I most often come for the waxing. The waxing here is superb- quick, painless and thorough. I've been to many places and cannot say this for most salons. A couple of times a year, I also get facials here and I have extremely sensitive skin and have had no negative reactions. The aestheticians at this salon take the time to learn about and know your skin- there is a file for every client. I have been working with Ginneth for three years and she is patient, professional and wonderful. The salon also offers birthday promotions, 15 percent off facials. They call a day or two before the appointment to remind clients, that is super helpful. My one minor complaint is that they do push products on the clients at the end of the treatment- as all salons do. The best!!! I no longer live in Forest Hills but I still return every month to this small yet comfy salon for my monthly facials. I consider a treatment from Elizabeth to be therapeutic. I look forward to every visit. Elizabeth starts every facial with a cream softening hand treatment and small neck massage, then comes the steaming that leads to the extractions. I've been to Manhattan salons where extractions leave me thinking that my face will never recover from this assault, but Elizabeth is an artist with a light touch. She completes her facials with luxurious products that lull you into a euphoric and relaxed state. (Yes, I have fallen asleep once or twice.) The store looks clean but the service sucks. I spend $45 for a waxing & $90 for facial. the waxing is OK but the facial SUCKS! please don't go to this place for a facial. The girl's name is Alexandra or similar like that, she did a terrible job. She didn't change the little bowl of water from the beginning to the end. The mask was extremely thin, and she said" I will go get some clean water for you." and after 15 mins she was still not back. The thin mask was left on my face for about 20 mins... I had to call her in and told her the mask was too dry. She mumbled something I didn't hear then washed my face with the DIRTY water in that poor little bowl !! I have to go to bathroom to clean my face again because I felt disgusted. I still left her good tip because I was too nice... but i swear to god I will never step in this place again, EVER!!!! read more

The service was good and the products are great. However, I do not appreciate hearing some one's negative comments about different ethnic groups that reside in the neighborhood. The owner uses an Israeli flag in her display to lure the Israeli/ Jewish community into her establishment, but when they leave she makes ant Semitic remarks. I imagine she did not know I was Jewish. At the same time, I also heard negative remarks about African Americans and Hispanics. Forest Hills is more than a diverse community, it is said that over 4000 different languages are spoken. The owner and her staff are not American - so why is there this prejudice? It made me feel quite uncomfortable. I can't believe this stuff is still happening. read more

Yes. Yes, yes yes. Elizabeth is a hidden gem. I am pretty well endowed in the eyebrow department, and I've been getting mine threaded for quite some time now. While it used to be wonderful, I started to notice my eyebrows get thinner and thinner, misshapen, and they just didn't even resemble eachother after a while. I decided to let them grow in and then started researching eyebrow waxing on yelp. I booked a same-day appointment for a wax and Elizabeth took care of me. The salon is small, but packs a punch in products. A full array of creams, serums, and goops welcome you- but the smell is not overpowering at all. The salon is quiet, which is quite a feat for a Queens Boulevard storefront. I was offered water, and then Elizabeth got to work. Before beginning, she assessed my face. She then took my features into account before deciding on a shape for my brows. Then came the waxing. If you're one of the lucky ones who experience ASMR (if you don't know what I'm talking about, google it!) then you'll love her soft voice and Polish accent. She will tell you all about her eyebrow knowledge (she studied eyebrow shaping for 6 months.) and her journey as an aesthetician. I almost fell asleep while getting my eyebrows waxed. Who know that could happen? Anyway, I have never seen someone so meticulous about eyebrows. Not a single stray, everything trimmed perfectly, and she looks at them from all angles. Then once again when you stand up to make sure she got it right. All of her patience and scrutiny of her own work are very reassuring qualities for someone who is taking your appearance into her own hands. The whole procedure probably took about 15 minutes, but it will probably be shorter if you're just going for a clean up. I was two days away from breaking out a weedwhacker. So why four stars for such a tremendous job? Because I don't like the hard sell. I don't like being asked or told to buy extra services and products because I hate having to say no over and over. There was also some leftover clay or something from a facial on the chair she put me in, I would have expected it to be clean before the next client. And believe it or not I found a little nice cute spa, not in Manhattan or any type of super fancy Spas anywhere else, but Elizabeth's Skincare salon in Forrest Hills! Why? Very simple because Elizabeth belongs to the last old school real professionals in the industry. She is originally from Poland and the first minute you meet her you understand that beauty has been her only life purpose since her birth. I am personally really impressed how she can still be so enthusiastic after all these years to make people feeling special and beautiful The place is like a short trip to Europe: Everything is simple and tasteful, at the front desk Agatha makes you feel welcome and even for a man she will try to explain you any type of treatments they are offering (well in that case I guess I should not mention my wife's credentials) but anyway thank you for that. I was lucky that Elizabeth was just coming out with her client and she was so full of life and ultimately convinced me that it was the right place to buy a gift certificate for my wife. My wife called a week after to make an appointment and she loved it. Even if the gift certificate did not cover all the expenses (I guess the retail space was too appealing that she could resist to buy half of the store) she loved the experience and declared Elizabeth as good and dedicated as she is with her own clients. I had only one facial here with Ginny last August . She talked to me about how my diet while working on my face. She spent a lot of time on extractions which is exactly what I needed. My face looked amazing after the facial. It's a clean store however they do try to sell you many products after the facial. I tried out a lotion which was useless and a cream that did help with my breakouts (typical drugstore acne creams no longer work for me). I was very surprised to get a holiday card from them! She has extensive knowledgeable when it comes to skin and their problems. I was on my second trimester when I broke out badly and dark spot started appearing on my face. She is very racist and when first came in she told me I had to pay with cash and I know friends and family who's been here before and experienced this same racism. Elizabeth is so rude and does not know how to talk to her clients, she speaks to them as if we need her. She does not make me feel welcomed to go back.
