I came here to get my wedding dress altered. I had originally booked an appointment with this place called Tyla's Bride and she was supposed to come to my home to do the alterations, but she never showed up. I had called several times and left messages but she didn't respond to me until hours later saying she was busy with other appointments. Completely unprofessional, so don't go to Tyla's. I then went to Elizabeth's Tailoring. She does alterations out of her home. She's a very nice woman and super easy to work with. She was also way more affordable than Tyla's. Elizabeth's Tailoring charged me $400 for my dress alterations to have it hemmed (6 layers of skirt and tulle); taking it in on top and redesigning the top a little bit to fit me better, which included removing lace florals and sewing them back on; adding a bustle; altering the back to cover a little more skin; and steaming the dress. Tyla quoted me at $1000 to start, so this was much better. I came to her kind of late (a month to spare) and she got it done timely and beautifully. I was very happy with everything. Let me tell you- I'm leaving for my friends wedding in 3 days, I'm a bridesmaid and I got my dress delivered a week ago. It didn't fit at all. Zipper wasn't closing and it just felt small and too long all together. I was very panicked after another seamstress said it would take her too long because of the difficulty of the fabric and she wouldn't be able to finish it in time. I took my wedding dress to get altered, but sadly did not have a good experience, nice lady but very forgetful. Honestly i was very hesitant to leave a review because she is nice, and i felt bad leaving a bad review. But for anyone thinking about taking their wedding dress to her just make sure she writes everything down. I asked for 3 things: removable straps, pockets, and a bustle. She did the bustle but used large round buttons, she said she couldnt find small black buttons at the store. When i asked for detachable shoulder straps just incase i wanted to tke them off while dancing, she sewed them on permanent (i waited for her to take them off because i didnt like them). To top it off, she only made one pocket , because she said the other side of the dress wouldnt look good with a pocket! My dress is symmetrical! I dont know how she thought one pocket would be fine. I didnt want to leave my dress in her hands any longer so i just took it and thanked her, but not going back. read more

Very nice and sweet lady however I firmly believe that communication with customer is key. I had to wait an hour because the dress wasn't ready (she asked me to come at 6:30 and dress still like wasn't ready) I get it she's busy because it's prom season but had she told me she was running late I would of came later or another day, especially since I am not feeling well. She had the dress for 2 full weeks... During the fitting another customer walks in and is watching, made me feel extremely uncomfortable, owner should have asked other customer to wait outside. Lastly, she sewed one layer of the dress on to the main layer, basically she made a mistake and I still had to pay full price. Thankful for her services but I will never come back again. Services here are pricey considering the fact that she is running a business from home. read more
