Elizabeth did an amazing job altering my two wedding dresses (sorry Elizabeth it has taken a long time to review your work). Like many brides, I had a very tight budget and so i decided not to spend thousands of dollars on a dress. Instead i did what many brides do to save some money and ordered a dress form a china company. Of course i did not expect it to be perfect i was just hoping i would receive it lol. I did receive it but it was sewn pretty badly. As you can see on the pictures it had a bulge in the mid section and my thighs barely fit. Elizabeth did a great job at opening up the thigh area and taking in the middle section. I also bought a dress 4 sizes too big at a wedding dress sample sale in case i would not receive the dress from china. Elizabeth was able to shorten it and make it fit like a glove. Overall she did an amazing job making my wedding dresses fit perfectly. She was always very welcoming and helpful. **LGBT+ discrimination--would not recommend if you are a part of the community or an ally** I was excited to work with Elizabeth for my wedding dress alterations. My initial experience was pleasant, however when I came back for my appointment to pick up my dress, it was not ready and she didn't even have my appointment written, even though the dress had a note with my date on it. She did the right thing and had the alterations complete by the end of the day, but I was still disappointed as I had people with me who wanted to see my dress on and they were unable to participate in that with the change in date. While at my fitting the next day I made an appointment for my fiancé, she was excited for the work and even told me that she had extended her hours to take on the extra work. Her demeanor immediately changed when she realized my fiancé's name was a woman's. (we are an LGBT+ couple). I wanted to assume the best but when I returned a few hours later for an adjustment, she informed me that she would have to cancel my fiancé's appointment and she wouldn't be able to take on her job AT ALL because of her workload for the month...a workload she was fine with taking on only a few hours prior. I was patient when my dress wasn't ready but this kind of discrimination is unacceptable. I am upset that I was unaware of this bias sooner as I would have spent my money elsewhere. If this is important to you or you are an ally, I would take my business elsewhere. **I would like to update my review to add that the owner has since personally reached out to me to apologize for my experience and offered to do the work for my fiancé. While I do not believe that her intent was to hurt or offend, I believe in accountability for our actions. I respectfully declined her offer but wanted to commend the sense of ownership and accountability for the experience. Wow. Just amazing. One more time Elizabeth to the rescue. So, I was graduating from Cal Poly Pomona and I had a huge party celebration. I looked for the longest time for the perfect dress. I had it at a hall so I knew it had to be just perfect. I found a Sheri Hill dress that I absolutely love but there was a problem. The only sizes available were a size 00 or 2. And I obviously didn't fit in either one since I'm a size 4. But as much as I looked I didn't find one that I loved as much as this one. So I bought a size 2. Took it to Elizabeth and she worked her magic to add a few inches to the sides and remove a bottom skirt, as well as take a few inches off the length. Final result: you can't even tell it was tailored. I went back for one fitting and it was a little loose so she went back and took off a little more from the sides. She kept the original zipper after making all the adjustments. And it was just a perfect dress. It did take about 2 weeks so plan ahead. Thank you so much!!! read more

This was by far the worst experience I've ever had. I came in on wednesday to ask for my bikini top and my maxi dress altered. She said she would have it done by next week wednesday. I ended up being busy so I couldn't pick it up till Friday which gave her an extra 2 days on top of the 1 week to fix my clothes. I came in Friday morning and she still had my clothes in pins underneath a pile of clothes she didn't even start on. Then she told me she will start right away and that I should come back in an hour. I was really upset because I needed to go to Vegas with these items Friday afternoon and MY CLOTHES WERE STILL NOT READY. Her store opened at 9:30 and I came at 11. She didn't even touch it if I hadn't come asking for my items. That's really unprofessional of her. She obviously saw I was upset and finished my clothes in 30 mins. First off, why did it take her 9 days to do something that only took 30 mins??? Secondly, 30 mins to finish my clothes was too good to be true. I came in the store tried on my clothes and MY DRESS WAS SO POORLY DONE THAT I DON'T EVEN WANT TO WEAR IT. AND SHE USED BLUE THREAD ON MY BLACK CLOTHES??????? Isn't it common sense to use the same COLOR THREAD??? You could imagine how mad I was. She told me she used black thread and pointed at the station with the black thread. I even second guessed myself UNTIL I saw another station with BLUE THREAD. I compared it with the thread on my clothes and what do you know? SHE LIED. NEVER WILL I EVER COME HERE AGAIN. I contacted Elizabeth less than 2 weeks before my wedding, having pushed my fitting off longer than I should have. She got me in right away, working around my schedule. She was very sweet and kind, works from a shop in her home which is very close to me so it was super convenient. She also has very flexible hours that worked great with my work and wedding planning schedule. I had lost almost 30 lbs since I bought my dress and was very sad to put it on and see how loose and unfitted it was. When I got my dress back it was perfect and I was so relieved. My dress was 4 sizes to big when I bought it from an off the rack dress store. I took the dress as is. I called numerous seamstress/tayloring places to get quotes. One place that I almost went with wanted $700+ to do the alterations because my dress is "Couture" I didn't want to just trust anyone with my dress since it is one of a kind. Elizabeth was AMAZING! She was worth every dollar. P.S. she was a fraction of the price. She took in my dress making it fit perfectly, added a french bustle, and hemmed the bottom of my gown reattaching the delicate lace. She showed me different types of bustle options (french,American,side sweep) on my dress to make sure it was what I wanted before completing the look. She completed everything in a matter of weeks! I suggest calling a week before going to pick up your item to make sure your alterations will be ready on time. I did have a small mix up with another bride who had a similar name to me.
