I have to give Kudos to this hotel. Staff very friendly. Rooms nice and big. Cleaning crew very friendly. The only problem I had was that the room was dark. Not enough lighting. Breakfast was good and they had a nice variety. My favorite dish was the sausage which had a little kick to it. They also had hot chocolate so that was nice to have in the evening. The location is just down the road from a nice eatery and a nice walk into town. read more

Spent 3 nights here. Close to Grand Teton National Park. Quiet and comfortable. Wonderful breakfast each morning which saved time when going to the park. Walking distance to Jackson Town Square. Right in the heart of Jackson, WY, a nice place to stay. It's walking distance to many restaurants, shops, etc. We were so lucky to stay at the cabin! Cute cabin inside and out. The cabin was very clean and came with all the necessity need. Plenty of towels and toiletries. A small kitchen that comes with cups, plates, bowls, utensils, microwave, and fridge. Outside the cabin, there's a picnic table and a chair. Nice to chill outside to enjoy the view. In the main entrance/lobby is also where you can have breakfast. The breakfast is ok. I was a bit disappointed with the omelette...it was really salty. Coffee was bleh. Other than that, they have your typical breakfast food set up. read more

I don't often file a rating, but I felt with this one I should. We stopped in somewhat early.and I thought we would stop in and see if we could check in. The young lady at the desk was very helpful. Our reservation was for a deluxe cabin and we were asked if we would prefer a king bed instead of 2 queens. Super, I thought. Later on I would find out that you couldn't access the bed from one side because it was too large for the bedroom. That was the beginning. I could go on. But suffice to say, whoever designated these as "deluxe" cabins REALLY stretched the definition. From the size of the rooms to the quality of the furniture, all come up short of DELUXE. Is it too much to expect the sitting area to be big enough to seat 2 people and a pet? One small sofa was a bit crowded for us. To be fair, the hotel rooms may be better. read more

It is very reasonably priced compared to a lot of Jackson hotels but still convenient to downtown. Unfortunately, too much went wrong. We had the nicest suite, and they just couldn't get it right. Lamps didn't work, the tub didn't work, the TV worked but was incredibly difficult to figure out. Breakfast was .... ... adequate. Even asking for housekeeping every day, we didn't get it (you have to ask). Not worth the money I spent. However, the majority of the staff were superb. I loved this place so much!! Went here with 4 friends & we rented a loft. It was perfect for us. Three beds. Could easily have put another air mattress on the floor in the loft area. Breakfast was delicious. I loved the little kitchenette that came with the place. We took advantage of the dishes, fridge, & coffee maker during our stay. Loved that the toilet & shower are separate from the sink so it allowed someone to get ready while someone else was showering. Highly recommend staying here! read more

Very pleasant stay here! We stayed with our dogs and they were very accommodating, plus no pet fee if you opt for a regular room. A cabin that is stand alone has a pet fee. They put us in a handicap accessible room on the end. Keep in mind that there are a lot of people bringing their dogs here. Sometimes you hear barking in the middle of the night. Lobby is rustic but chic at the same time. Gentleman working the front was very nice. They have complimentary tea, hot chocolate, and juice in the lobby. Rooms are a little dated. read more

This cabin we stayed in was pretty nice. Very clean, which is very important for my wife and little kids. Obviously this is Jackson Hole, a tourist trap, and because of that the prices were sky high, over $300 for one night, a weeknight, and overall the room cabin was tiny, I mean once we brought our luggage in for my wife and our three kids, there was practically no room in the floor to walk. There was a stove, microwave, dishwasher, and mini fridge and freezer, so they had all the bases covered, but it was all jammed in there. The couch fold out bed was not very good, in that even my 7 year old wasn't able to sleep because of the metal springs poking her back, so she had to come sleep in the bed with us, so because of that and the size and price, I'm giving it a 4 star, but it was CLEAN and it suited our needs on short notice. Definitely happy about that. Also the staff was very helpful. We arrived around 10:30pm and someone was parked in our assigned parking spot, with no other spots in the lot, and after alerting the staff, they found the offending party, which moved their car at 11pm and we were able to unload our stuff literally right at the steps, 5 feet from our door. That was very nice. We are certainly used to larger hotels with all our kids, but this one was clean and suited our needs. With a better price and fold out bed, it might have been a 5 star stay. I have stayed in over a 100 hotels and this is in my top twenty. The service was friendly. The room was clean and convenient with a sink outside the bathroom. The breakfast was great. I especially love the Mexican hot chocolate! It along with soda is available all day as well as bottle filler station which is faster than any I've seen. The pool is a combo indoor and out, which I've never seen. The rima are so clean and comfortable. The colors they great you work are made on premises and so good. I would return! The lobby is very pretty and updated. We checked in late after a 12 hour travel day. We had made our reservation months ago, as we would be coming here for a family wedding. I had called the front desk earlier in the day, letting them know we would be arriving late, and requesting a quiet room as possible, knowing that they allow pets and the time of the year the hotel would be very full. The rooms were a bit dated, but clean. We were grateful to be able to lay our heads down and were hoping to get some sleep. We had reserved a king room, but were given two queens instead. Being tired, we didn't care. Apparently, this hotel has no sound deadening in its floors. The upstairs guests were so noisy, and it sounded like a herd of elephants were staying above us. They didn't go to bed until 12:30 am, and then were up and at it early in the morning at 6. Sounded like they were going to come through the floor. No idea about the overall construction of this hotel, but suffice it to say that there wasn't much invested in sound deadening for guest comfort. Here for the week, and it's going to be a long one with the ability to get only a few hours sleep each night because of the high noise levels. Jackson is notoriously expensive in the summer, but we were surprised that our credit card was charged for the entire stay two entire days before we arrived at the hotel. And we weren't given credit for the despot of one night's stay when we made the reservation 6 months prior. We will be starting out the week with a conversation with the front desk to see about getting that resolved. Not the best start to the week here! Update - notified the front desk about the noise issue - they moved us to another building. Nicer room - and as we were on the top floor, noise was minimized greatly. Much better and was able to sleep better! Would suggest staying on a higher floor! read more

The staff promised to discount my stay and told me they did and the billed me and lied about the discount when I tried to dispute it. 'Ello chaps! Elk Country Inn is a hotel/motel/inn lodging located at the gateway of downtown Jackson. The location is fantastic because Jackson itself is a bit small and very walkable, so Elk Country Inn is close to restaurants, shops, and downtown. On Pearl Avenue, it's also a quick left turn to get on the way to Grand Teton National Park, Mormon Row, Yellowstone, Jackson Airport, or wherever you're coming and going. Guests check in in Elk Country Inn's newly built lobby, which is warm, welcoming, and really fantastic. While we're talking about the lobby, let me talk about two highlights. First, every day at 5 p.m. they serve fresh baked (individually wrapped) cookies. They are delicious. They are truly, warm and gooey and perfect. In the morning, they also have a breakfast offering (free) which includes individually wrapped breakfast burritos, waffles, as well as muffins, fruit, yogurt in addition to juices and coffee. Due to COVID-19 they have guests warm up the food in their rooms, but that's ok. It really is a nice touch and saved us $10-$15 per day by not having to buy breakfast. It really is a great selection. Guests will notice three sets of lodging options: Rooms in the new building, rooms in the older building, and the cabins. We were in the old building. While there is not daily house keeping, the room was fairly clean and comfortable. The King size bed is truly king size, and very comfortable. Soft. The blackout curtains are truly blackout (although it helps that the City of Jackson is a fairly dark city without much light pollution) so you're likely going to get a good night's sleep. I compared Elk Country Inn to other nearby locations and whereas other locations had complaints about noise and the like, noise did not seem to be a problem. We did have one or two minor maintenance issues which they fixed quickly. The price overall for a "motel" seems steep, but that's the bill for a tourist location like this. It certainly had more of a "hotel" feel than a "motel" so don't be swayed or think less of Elk Cottage Inn because it may show up as "motel". I truly came in with low expectations and have to say Elk Cottage Inn exceeded those expectations. Clean rooms, friendly and attentive staff, great cookies and a very decent breakfast. Overall I give Elk Cottage Inn the rare FIVE stars out of five. I would certainly recommend them. BONUS: They literally share a parking lot with Bubba's Bar-B-Que. Check in on Yelp and make sure you get at least one dinner at Bubba's. read more

Awesome place to stay, and very clean and well kept. It's in the heart of Jackson and within 3 short blocks walking distance to the restaurants and shops. Sheets, towels, and other amenities were pristine (housekeeping is doing a phenomenal job), and they have a constant supply of coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and homemade cookies at the front desk for free. The cabin was warm, quiet, and well insulated. It was 8 degrees overnight and we were nice and toasty in our little cabin. The beds were very comfy. I slept like a baby and will definitely come back if I'm in the area again. read more

We were in a bind and couldn't get to our hotel we had already booked and paid for so we found this hotel on Yelp. We tried repeatedly to try and book directly but nobody ever answered the phone and the website won't let us book online. We ended up booking through Expedia. The room was very clean and large. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room. The bed were very worn and the bed spread was itchy. I had a hard time sleeping because we could hear every step and movement the room above us made. Also the walls were very thin and we could hear every conversation outside. Conveniently located in the town. We walked to get coffee in the am. Good location and not expensive. read more

It is hard to believe this is only a 2 star hotel. This place is a cut above every 2 star hotel I've ever stayed in considering the gym, indoor pool/spa, fresh cookies they leave out, the giant fireplace and cozy leather couches in the entryway, etc. The continental breakfast was standard fare, but they offered far more than just fruit and yogurt. There was a lot to choose from. I got to stay in a cabin which had almost a full kitchen. All it was missing was an oven. It even had a dishwasher! The beautiful black and white wilderness photography all over the hotel was especially eye catching as a hobbyist nature photographer of many years myself. The front desk staff was affable and very accommodating. They were fine with my checking out a bit late so I could finish up a few things. I absolutely loved my stay in Jackson. read more

Excellent value and extremely nice hotel! We booked on Airbnb because it was cheaper (we called the hotel directly and asked them to match the price, but for whatever reason declined. No difference to us though!). The hotel was modern and looked recently updated. The room was comfortable, with a mini fridge and microwave which came in handy. They do offer a breakfast, but due to Covid is grab and go. Nothing fancy, but was nice to take en route to skiing. The pool and hot tub area is by reservation now. Beware that going at a later time, there may be rowdier guests drinking and being loud. We complained to the front desk and they suggested we go earlier, which we did and had no issues. We didn't use the gym, but looking in we saw a Peloton bike which looked cool! Overall, I was impressed by the value for the price. The location is close to the downtown square, and about a 15 minute drive to Jackson Hole mountain without traffic. I'd highly recommend and return! read more

Decent experience. Came here recently for a few nights stay and we had a decent time. The rooms could use an update for sure. The carpet is a bit old and not super clean, bathroom is like the motel 6 bathrooms. The 24 hour hot chocolate tea and coffee machine in the lobby is very nice. Also fruits and cookies are provided in the lobby in the am. There is a ski shuttle that takes you up the mountain which is convenient and so no car required. Gym, pool hot tub was under construction when we went so that was rather inconvenient. Overall it was good for the price we paid. read more

Can't say that we were impressed with our stay unfortunately. After checking in, I was thoroughly questioned as to who I was as I tried to grab a luggage cart to bring our bags in. We had to park on the street as their lot was full? This was our honeymoon, and while we didn't exactly expect rose petals & champagne, we would have appreciated a room ANYWHERE else besides the first door from the lobby, right next to the lobby restrooms.. Not very romantic or private feeling. Especially as we realized that the outside lobby foot traffic had a great view into our room as we slept in the next morning. Lovely. The bed was uncomfortable unfortunately, and I was left sore. I guess they recently redecorated, and while the fixtures were beautiful, the layout of the room was odd. Huge bathroom, but each fixture is shoved all the way in the corner, with the towels hung clear across the room from the shower. We left a little let down, as we had splurged on this room a bit, expecting more :/ read more

Great value for lodging during our first Jackson, WY stay - updated, spacious rooms, free breakfast, all-day coffee/tea, evening cookies, free wi-fi, included parking small but serviceable gym, pool/hot tub area, and transportation to and from the Jackson Hole ski resort (every day!). Rooms: Rooms have been recently updated with comfortable and clean beds/sheets, large TV, standard desk, and arm chair. There is a microwave, a fridge that has a separate freezer component, a sink area that is outside of the shower tub/toilet (which is fine by me!) that includes a night light (how awesome!), and a bench in front of the bed that helps with all the various snowboarding/skiing gear or bags. Temperature control was on point and coat closet was appropriately sized. Amenities: This place has all the things I am looking for in amenities for lodging: free breakfast, access to coffee/tea, serviceable gym, and free parking. They have done an excellent job of being creative with breakfast to keep people safe during COVID by having a "grab and go" selection (Jimmy Dean sandwiches, two different types of breakfast burritos, waffles, cereal, yogurt, hardboiled eggs, and fresh, good-looking oranges and bananas). There is coffee, hot chocolate, and tea available all day. The gym is small, but has free weights, a treadmill, a Peloton bike, and bench. Internet was reliable (always a plus). Ambiance: Warm and cozy lobby that includes a small gift shop. Tall ceilings that make the place feel spacious. Service: Down-to-earth, friendly people. They also wore masks, which made me feel much more secure during COVID. Parking: On site and free. If you have trouble finding a spot late at night, just talk to the front-desk folks and they will find you a spot. They own many of the adjacent properties. Pricing: GREAT value for all the amenities that are included - $162/night. Tip: If you have a Peleton account, they do have a Peleton bike in the gym. Take advantage of their shuttle bus to the mountain resort - just make sure you make a reservation first to secure your spot. Hmmm the room was very clean and the interior of the room was pleasant . Although I am have major hearing loss. But even I was able to hear the person in the room next to us snoring. The walls have NO sound deadening insulation. When the folks above us walked around their room there were lots of strange noises coming from the building I could easily hear every step. For the average person I would recommend earplugs if you want a peaceful sleep. Please don't let the pictures of the office area sway your decision to stay at this facility as the rooms are nowhere close to as nice. They do include breakfast but the bread items were stale. The area around the items offered ie eggs bacon sausage was covered with bits of eggs and crumbs. Not too appealing. The staff was nice, they offered us cookies and bottled water upon our arrival. read more

We loved the rustic décor! I even kept one of the room keys as a bookmark! The office is welcoming and comfy, had a little side lounge. Cookies are available in the afternoon and in the morning, fresh fruits, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are offered. I was THRILLED to discovery they use Boyd's coffee products, that's an automatic 5-star rating for me as it shows the hotel runner has great taste! :-) But I had to take off one star because there was no elevator and the staff is not as warm as I was hoping them to be (for one thing, at check out, I made a point to tell the lady I wanted to compliment on their coffee selection, she didn't even look at me, just muttered "thank you" under her breath. Stayed here during Jackson's slower season in November. Room was decent. The lobby/pool amenities/building were great! And look new or renovated. Complimentary breakfast was grab and go due to covid. Inn offered bear spray if needed. The lobby is not connected to the regular rooms so you do have to venture outside to get there. We rented one of the cabins here. It instantly became one of the favorite places we've ever stayed. The cabin was a little small, but it was cozy, and it was nice to have our own little space with our car just outside the door. The community of Jackson Hole in general is amazing and we can't wait to visit again. With Grand Teton and Yellowstone along with plenty of other Rocky Mountain destinations, you'll never run out of stuff to do here. Back to the cabin at Elk Country Inn: It was warm, clean, and came with comfortable beds. Microwave, fridge, and other basic conveniences were also inside. Everything is pretty modern and the staff is friendly. It was also surprisingly quiet. The cabins are fairly close together, so we were a little worried about sound easily carrying from other cabins into ours or vice versa, but it wasn't an issue at all--and yes, we DID have neighbors. When I was looking for a place to stay, I had specific needs, 3 beds and not a pull out bed or a roll away. I was so excited and looking forward to staying in the loft room, as it has 2 queen beds downstairs and a queen bed in the loft. So I immediately booked it!!! Upon arrival, I was quickly disappointed to find the hotel does NOT have an elevator. We are traveling with my mother and she is not able to climb stairs. The hotel says they could put us in another room, however there were no other rooms like this in the ground floor and therefore we would need 2 rooms. We had to pay for the additional room. Causing us more money out of pocket. I would have found something cheaper and stayed elsewhere, if I had known there was no elevator. read more

I agree with a lot of the other reviews in that the people are really nice. And maybe in Jackson Hole $213 is a super bargain for a room for the night (in June). But (as others say), it's pretty worn. (Also pretty clean... but at some point it's hard to say where "worn" ends and "unclean" starts... I think it's fair to say that they have not crossed that line though.) A little bit of a breakfast spread would have been nice (they do have a bowl of apples and bananas and oranges) but I understand that is not offered everywhere... just that it would have put it closer to a four-star review. The building we were in is easily accessible from anyone walking by on the street... the outer doors have a lock that was intended to be swiped by a room key to gain access but was not working. In short, anyone off the street had access to my hotel room door. Carpeting is pretty old as are most of the furnishings. Busy part of downtown is close but not too close... perfect walking distance. I may be completely out of line in that this is what you get for that price in Jackson... my first time there so hard to gauge. read more

We stayed here in late August, 2024. The front desk and cleaning staff were very friendly. The front lobby and dining area were very nice and we appreciated the ability to play cards in the dining area late into the evening. I was thrilled with the washing machines and dryers as they were clean and appeared to be new. I would have given them a 5 star rating but was surprised by the unfriendly staff when I called Tuesday, the day after we checked out, as I had left my toothbrush charger in our room. I was happy they had found it but the person said I had to wait until Friday for the manager to set up the mailing and payment instructions. I should have questioned why the manager needed to handle this and why they couldn't have taken care of it without the manager. When I called Friday, another person answered and wasn't very friendly either as I asked her how much it would cost to mail it and she said "I have no idea." I still would stay here but will just be sure to not leave anything in the room:) read more
