This was my first time bringing my Kia Carnival Hybrid to Elk Grove Kia for a recall repair, and I honestly expected a much better customer service experience. From the moment we drove into the service bay, no one acknowledged or greeted us. We had no idea where to go or what the check-in process was until I had to ask an employee if we needed to go inside. Once inside, we still weren't greeted or made to feel welcome. The biggest disappointment was the shuttle service. We were told the repair would take about three hours and were promised a shuttle ride home. We were asked to wait about 10 minutes, but those 10 minutes turned into an hour, and eventually two hours before the shuttle finally arrived. During that entire time, there were no updates, no explanation, and no communication about the delay. After we had been waiting for quite some time, Haley came over and sincerely apologized for the shuttle delay. I truly appreciated that. When my vehicle was finished, Haley was professional, courteous, and took the time to have a pleasant conversation while closing out the service. She was easily the bright spot of our entire visit. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill again immediately afterward. I was told my vehicle would be pulled up in front of the sales department, so I waited there. After waiting for a while, I saw a salesperson walking by and politely asked if he could help me locate my vehicle. His response completely shocked me. He said, "I don't know! So what do you want me to do?" His tone was rude, dismissive, and completely lacking in professionalism or basic customer service. As a first-time customer, that is not how anyone should be treated. Thankfully, another salesperson walked by shortly afterward, greeted me, asked how I was doing, listened to what had happened, and immediately helped me locate Haley and my vehicle. That interaction showed that not every employee at this dealership treats customers the same way. What is most disappointing is the inconsistency. Haley and the second salesperson demonstrated exactly what good customer service looks like, while others made us feel like we were an inconvenience simply for asking for help. Let me save you the drive. I spent two full days negotiating numbers over the phone with salesman Adam. Two days. After all of that, his manager Mike personally instructed Adam to invite me to come to the dealership. His exact message was that they would "make it work." I trusted that. I packed up my young daughter and drove two hours to get there. The moment I arrived, manager Mike walked up to me and said -- to my face, in front of my child -- "I asked you not to come down here." He looked me in the eye and said the complete opposite of what actually happened. That is not a miscommunication. That is a lie. A fifty thousand dollar car sitting on their lot with a broken air conditioner and not a single person thought to clean it before a customer drove two hours to see it. This dealership is everything wrong with the car buying experience. They are dishonest on the phone, disrespectful in person, and completely unbothered about wasting your time and your family's time. Save your time and money and shop elsewhere, the whole team at Elk Grove Kia in its entirety are snakes. Day 1 , I come in to buy a vehicle , spend hours going back and forth on a price and finally agree. We have a trade included. More hours go by and are signing paperwork when all of a sudden they can't take my trade because it's in my fiancés name. No mention of that until 6 hours of being at the dealership. So fine , they tell us we can get a cashiers check for the amount and they will reimburse us, we do that the next day and purchase the vehicle. I ask when will I be reimbursed for the cashiers check ($7,000) out of my savings. And they decide to tell me after the deal is made it's going to take over a month to reimburse me. I was also sold a warranty / maintenance package when I purchased the vehicle. And was assured this included 5 oil changes a year. I agreed as I have the same package on another vehicle I own. We take the vehicle in for its first oil service and everything was fine. Looked up my warranty and I didn't have to spend a dime. Second oil service comes up and we take it in, and they tell us the warranty doesn't exist, we never paid for it and the first time we took it in was a mistake that we didn't have to pay. We needed our vehicle serviced. I made an appointment online. We drove up to the service garage. No line. Which was nice. I got out of my car and went to the service office. Everything went well. There was a part that needed to be replaced on my car. They did not have it in stock and will need to order it. I'm still waiting on the phone car to bring my car back in to replace the part. Also, if you use a credit card, there is a 3% service charge. There is not a service fee if you use your ATM/Debit card. I was just surprised on a big company to do this. They need to find a better credit company if they are going to charge your customers 3% to use their credit card. That is steep, especially if I have my service is going to be in the hundreds of dollars. I know some small mom and pop stores have a 1.5 % service charge. That is ok, I understand that. Who carries cash anymore. I don't use my ATM/Debit card to purchase anything. Too much of a risk for someone to scan the number of my ATM and have access directly to my account. read more

Last, I had an aftermarket sound system in the car and Eli along with the service department ensured that I was able to get my sound system removed efficiently and worked with my schedule to do so. For the record, the dealership was clean, comfortable, and customer friendly. Even though everyone was busy, everyone seamlessly worked together regardless of who was getting the sale. This showed me that the most important thing was the customer service experience rather than their commissions. Whoever the dealership managers are for each department deserves recognition for this trait as it is unprecedented and hard to find these days. Well a little disappointed with the call back. I had my service done on my EV6 and they charging door was not working. They determined that the motor was broken and they had to order the part. They were going to call me when it came in and install it. The service guy said that it would be in a few days, since it was the holidays he expected it no later than Wednesday which was 5 days. It was Christmas time so I figured it wasn't going to get done that week. No worries. I had waited for a week more and still no phone call or text that the part was in. I finally called to check and the part had arrived . I asked if it showed that someone had called or informed me that the part was read. They told me no such update was in the system. To say the least I wasn't happy that I had to call to check on this. They were able to get me in on the day I called and the charging door was installed. It is working now. When I came the first time the place was empty but this time it was packed and cars were parked all the way out to almost the driveway. I think about 3 or 4 cars deep in about 3 lanes. I was worried that the work wasn't going to be done. I checked it just before 1 PM. TO my relief the car was done in a couple of hours. It was a warranty job so no payment. Mike was extremely rude, aggressive, and treats women in a very threatening manner. I understand Mike has had multiple customer complaints and will be transferring out of a customer service area. Brandon, one of their financial supervisors is equally just as rude and threatening. Brandon's priority is to inform customers at 11 AM. He still hasn't had his coffee. Hello, I had an oil change a couple months ago with EG Kia.  Last week my Low Engine Oil indicator came on.  Checked dip stick and it was low in oil and had to buy some oil. I was very concerned,  not knowing why (leak, sensor)  Took the car in this morning for an inspection. Apparently,  the Sportage models have two different engines where some take 5 quarts and others 6 quarts of oil.  My Sportage was given 5 quarts when it should have gotten 6 quarts. This was a huge inconvenience and worry for me.  I wanted you to know so that the technicians are properly trained and this doesn't happen to anyone else. Wasn't impressed with Sam the salesman, he hyped up everything about the used Rav4 that was on the lot. The car was advertised about $32k; after all the charges out the door, it was now $45k; which Sam wasn't upfront with us, until the financial manager came and talk to us. The vehicle ran well, I wasn't expecting the extra charges (extra paint job that Kia supposedly put on a 2 year old vehicle, the anti-theft system that wasn't lifetime, and an another extra charge- I forgot what is was for); plus warranty which was $4k. I let them know, I didn't need the $4K warranty or the additional charges they but on the car. I was given an option to waive the additional charges and buy warranty plus the taxes or no warranty and pay for the additional charges. We didn't see eye to eye at the end. I have extreme frustration and disappointment with the recent service experience we had regarding our Kia Carnival recall maintenance at Elk Grove Kia. We were informed that our vehicle had multiple recalls, and that parts specific to our car needed to be ordered. We followed the instructions, had the parts ordered, and scheduled our service appointment well in advance -- for the earliest available time slot: 7:00 AM on Saturday. We were repeatedly told that this recall maintenance would only take half a day to complete. Out of consideration for your scheduling and to help things go smoothly, we even called early Friday to ask if we could drop off the vehicle before closing, which we did, so it would be ready first thing Saturday morning. By 2:00 PM Saturday -- with no communication at all from your service department -- we called to check on the status of our car. We were transferred to the service department, where we were forced to leave a voicemail. By 3:30 PM, still nothing. No call back. No update. Absolutely no communication. When we called again, we were finally told that the car was not finished and that we would not be able to pick it up until MONDAY -- which is completely unacceptable, especially after being told it would only take half a day. That means you'll have had our vehicle for three days due to your Sunday closure. This was never communicated to us at any point. Both my husband and I work on Monday and are unable to take time off on such short notice. We were then informed that the car was undrivable because the seats had been removed and hadn't been put back in yet. Again -- no communication or warning whatsoever about this. I got on the phone, understandably upset, and was told once again that the vehicle would not be ready before Monday and that we simply had to wait. When I insisted that either the work be finished so we could pick up our car as promised, or that we be provided with a rental vehicle due to your failure to meet the agreed timeline, we were suddenly told the seats could be reinstalled in an hour, but that the recall work itself still wouldn't be completed. This is unacceptable. Not only were we misled about the timeframe -- costing us time, money, and unnecessary stress -- but your complete lack of communication, dismissive customer service, and failure to honor your own commitments have made this one of the worst dealership experiences we've ever had. To top it off, when we arrived to pick up the vehicle (still unfixed), no one was available to speak with us, and we were simply handed the keys and told to "call Monday." This is not how a reputable company treats its customers -- especially not when dealing with recall work, which is supposed to be a priority and handled with care and professionalism. We expect a formal response and resolution to this situation. At minimum, we deserve an apology and reimbursement or compensation for the inconvenience, time lost, and lack of professionalism throughout this process. read more

IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS, I WOULD! Let me just start by saying that Forrest is amazing, I absolutely adore him and he really took care of me as best as he could AND HE DIDN'T EVEN SELL ME MY CAR! Matt, the used car sales manager, took my car (that I had bought a few days, maybe a week prior) into service because my car had a light on prior to buying it that was regarding a keyless access system. I was told it would be free, which the diagnosis was! Then I was told I would have to pay out of pocket to buy a new door handle because it was a customization added to the car but ya'll sold it to me that way?? And did a supposed inspection prior to me buying it?? Like, make it make sense. Tam sold me the car, he's a talker and a hard ball, but really cool. He recognized the light on the car too and said it would be fixed which clearly was a lie. Then while they had my car in the shop, I was told by Matt that I could pick up my car after service hours in the sales department. I drove an hour out of my way to pick up my car and was told they didn't have my keys. My ride had left and had to come back and pick me up, then they magically found my keys after I completely lost my cool. Meanwhile I'm losing it in the sales department wondering how you guys mess up this badly?! The communication is so terrible here, it's not even funny. I spoke to Michelle, a customer service rep, and she was rude and kept telling me I had to leave voicemails instead of speaking to someone. THATS ALL THIS DEALERSHIP DOES AFTER YOU BUY! You cannot speak to anyone directly, they just "leave messages" which I know, is a lie because no one actually ever gets back to you. I tried getting in contact with Chris, the finance adviser, and called over 5 times to get in contact and kept being told he was unavailable. I LITERALLY CRIED ON THE PHONE to someone named Julian who was able to get me in contact with another finance adviser, Suzanne (who reassured me Chris would call me) because I was worried about something going on with my warranty. I still haven't heard back for TWO WEEKS!! TWO FRICKIN WEEKS! This is beyond the worst customer service situation, I have ever observed. Their online scheduling system has been down for months, no one follows up with you when you fill out their online service request form, calling during normal business hours gets you nowhere as well. This doesn't stop the sales dept from making monthly calls asking if you want to trade in your vehicle...so at least someone knows how to use a phone! I called two times to question a warranty issue. I left a message the first time and the woman who manages service appointments did so for me the second time. I am still waiting for a call back. It is a week since my first call. All I was looking for was a return call and an answer. In the meantime, I had my car repaired at a local auto shop. The shop I took it to had to go to Kia Elk Grove for a part! My car is fixed and, yes, I had to pay for the repair, but it was completed in a few hours. I had a set appointment at 10am I did showed up early at 915am for 2 separate services 1st a recall Kia service 2nd an oil change and tire rotation. Gave the Kia service lead my company fleet authorization card & number with the phone # to get the service work authorized. Done it many times here in the past no problems Signed the paperwork told by the lead check in tech it would be done in around 3 hours I was out the door at 935am. Waited till 1235pm no update or communication so I called I got a response saying it was going to take a another 4 hours to get the work done. I told them no I don't have the time to wait that long and asked them did you at least do the appointment Kia recall work and they responded no. I'm a technician by trade as well I know how important communication is with my clients. and I also know things happen too on the technicIan side. When I arrived at 130pm 4 hours later I was told they couldn't reach the my Fleet company that authorizes service so they just dropped the ball and left the service job in limbo. I never got a clear answer on why they couldn't get it authorized im guessing they didn't want to wait on the phone line to talk to my fleet authorization reps to have them authorize the work I understand it can be frustrating dealing with fleet companies and getting company authorization to get the ok's to start the service and also working the front checking new customers at the same time. But if your lead techs can't reach the fleet authorization you need to call your customers immediately and inform the job service won't start this did not happen in my case. My complaint for this whole situation today was the fact no effort was made to communicate with me that they couldnt get the authorization from the fleet account to start the work and if I didnt call them up for a status at 1230pm my work vehicle would have sat there all day long without being service. So recap here I took time on my day off to get my work van Kia recall serviced fyi just a software update no ground shaking work recall going on there And I also requested a fleet service oil change tire rotation and got no service in the process Worst part is I will have to do this whole process all over again and I still need to get a 3rd party to service my work van oil change tire rotation. What a wasted half day !!! Kia Elk Grove service department really let me down and i lost a half day off because of them. To be fair the service manager offered free gas for my company van i declined it because I already had a full tank of gas in my work van. read more

I want to start off with i was at Folsom Lake Kia for 3 hours being ripped off and less than 20 mins at Elk Grove Kal made me a great deal! He respected my time and my wishes! We called before hand and spoke to Roseo who was amazing and knowledgeable and helped guide us to Kal who was a great salesman! Also the finance manager Brennan was incredible he was detailed made sure we felt comfortable with our purchase and informative! I couldn't recommend this location more! read more

I regret ever leasing my 2025 Kia EV9 from Elk Grove Kia. Five weeks into ownership, while driving on the freeway with my 7.5-months-pregnant wife and our three-year-old daughter, I suddenly lost control of the vehicle. Upon pulling over, I found several lug nuts on the driver's side rear wheel had snapped off completely, with the studs still attached--clearly suggesting they were never tightened during pre-inspection. The remaining lug nuts were barely holding the wheel in place. I immediately contacted Elk Grove Kia for help, but since we were stranded in Loomis, they advised me to tow the car to Roseville Kia. Roseville Kia confirmed my fears: Elk Grove Kia likely failed to tighten the lug nuts before delivery. To make matters worse, this was deemed an "external factor" and not covered under warranty, leaving me with a repair estimate of $2,386.87 and a $220 inspection fee. Desperate to resolve the issue, I repeatedly called Elk Grove Kia, only to be bounced between sales and service with no clear solution. Eventually, they promised me a loaner vehicle if I had the EV9 towed back to Elk Grove Kia, but then refused to pay for the service fee and towing to their dealership. After five days of back-and-forth calls, they finally agreed to reimburse those costs--so I moved the car, hoping for a resolution. Once the car arrived, Elk Grove Kia completely changed their story: 1. They refused to provide the loaner vehicle they had promised. 2. They refused to cover the towing and service fees they originally agreed to reimburse. 3. They refused to accept responsibility for the pre-inspection oversight. 4. They have not checked in or communicated with me even once since. Meanwhile, Roseville Kia has followed up multiple times to see if I've received any assistance. Now I'm stuck with: - A car I can't drive, yet am still paying a monthly lease on. - Additional expenses on my credit card for towing and the inspection. - A high-risk pregnant wife, due in six weeks, who is understandably terrified of ever getting in this vehicle again. This goes beyond poor customer service--what Elk Grove Kia has shown is gross negligence and complete disregard for customer safety. They sold me an unsafe vehicle, refused to acknowledge their mistake, and reneged on their promises to cover my expenses. Based on my experience, Elk Grove Kia does not care about their customers' well-being, their safety, or doing the right thing when serious issues arise. If you're considering buying or leasing from them, I strongly advise you to go elsewhere. read more

Worst place to purchase a car. I purchased a brand new 2025 Kia Sorento a couple weeks ago. Initial price changed from when I talked to the Sales Manager to when we signed the paperwork with the Finance Manager by almost $3,000 without anyone saying a word. They also left on an Anti Theft device for an additional $1500 that they promised they would remove. We unfortunately signed without noticing, and now we can't get any one to return our phone calls to help alleviate this issue. All around we feel bait and switched and are extremely unhappy with our experience. Have yet to hear back from anyone, and its been weeks. You live and learn. Don't buy a car from here. read more

If you're looking for a car salesperson then Kal is the man! He provides the customer service that many people fail to do these day. He took me around and introduced me to other staff members as if we were family. Extremely friendly, answered every question, inspected the entire vehicle with me. He made sure finance saw me quickly. I was in at 11 and out at 1pm on thanksgiving eve! Kal is a solid person with such a positive attitude and you could tell how genuine of a person he is.
