We took our '14 A6 in for the repair of the bushings in the front. Upon arrival, I was directed by someone to wait a few minutes for a service manager to assist me for check in. After a few, I was greeted by M.C. (Mike). He took the time to listen to why I was there with our car. Quickly typed in the service order at his desk and was polite and quick. I told him I needed a ride to get to a place a few miles away. He ordered a Lyft driver for me! No problem. Turns out our car had a few more things wrong with it than expected. Found out on a Friday and expected it to take until Monday to get it done. No. It was completed by Saturday! We have our fave car back now and it is handling much better now on the road! Every time I leave the service center I feel so taken advantage of. I brought my car in multiple times for service. Each time, it seems as though major repairs are required. I regret mentioning my concerns because every time I do I feel like its always used it to their advantage and what should be a routine service always turns into a huge bill. Walked on the lot looking for a vehicle and was approached by Cesar. I was accompanied by my wife, and I wanted to look for a new vehicle, specifically a Q5 2024 since I was already comfortable driving my wife's Audi A4. At first they didn't really have what I wanted and had asked if they could look for the right vehicle for me. I had told them that I would come back next week as I was looking at other vehicles around the auto mall as well. (I kept my promise and came back the following week) Bobby was the second gentlemen that approached me, taking over Cesar at the time. Both Bobby and Cesar were excellent at searching for what I was looking for. Even though I was not able to get the dream car that I wanted, I came upon an agreement with them for another higher trim of what I was originally looking for. I closed the deal at a 2024 Q5 Sportsback Prestige edition every bell and whistle possible on an audi. As soon as the vehicle was on the lot and I was able to look at it, I fell in love with it. I got my current car from here and usually come to this dealership for service. They have all new sales managers and sales people. I received a letter from the sales managers expressing interest in buying back my car. Tried to reach out and have a conversation and it was a TOTAL waste of my time. Got passed around between sales people, asked to speak to a manager, no one called. Emailed the managers no one bothered to respond. This is not how you treat a customer! I'll take my 15 years of being a loyal Audi customer to a different dealership! They have forever lost my business. Used buyer beware! I would not recommend Elk Grove Audi (EGA) for a used, non-Audi car purchase to anyone. I would strongly suggest a pre-purchase inspection by a qualified third party, as EGA's pre-purchase inspection process missed a large repair to the AC system, and I am left bearing the cost to repair. I purchased a very clean 2019 Ford Expedition with approximately 16,000 miles on the odometer, and EGA missed that the AC was not blowing cold at all in the rear zone and only blowing cold for a few minutes in the front during their multi-point inspection. When I test drove the car in the mid-morning it was cool out and I only noticed 45 minutes into my drive to San Jose in the heat of the afternoon, after I had completed the purchase, that the cabin was uncomfortably warm, even with front and rear AC set to "Max AC". I notified EGA as soon as I noticed the AC didn't seem to be working at full capacity. A few days later, I took the vehicle in to a Ford dealership for diagnostic, as discussed and agreed to by EGA. Estimate to replace an AC EVAP core was $2,900 total. Total charges out the door totaled $2,283.24. EGA is unwilling to reimburse me for the cost of the repair, the extended warranty I purchased will not cover due to the issue being "pre-existing", so I am left holding the bag. Expensive mistake on my part. Don't trust this dealership to do the right thing. read more

Aloof, unprofessional staff who have zero motivation to sell cars. My husband and I went into the dealership yesterday afternoon and we were ready to purchase a car they had listed online. It was the same make/model as the one we currently owned so we knew what we were buying. This would have been an easy, instant sale for the dealership. We arrived, parked our car in the customer area, and walked around a bit looking at the cars, locating the one we were interested in. The lot was an absolute ghost town. There wasn't one other customer there. After 15 minutes of looking, we had still not been approached by a salesperson. We walked towards the sales building and could see through the glass building into an office where 2 sales people were looking at their phones and talking/laughing. No customers were in the sales office, either. Only employees. We entered and asked the receptionist if there was someone who could show us a car. She looked around and said she would send someone out. We went back to the lot and waited.... and waited. After several minutes more we decided that this dealership was not deserving (or interested in) our business. Today, we purchased a car from another area dealer. We would have preferred to keep our business in Elk Grove, but the lack of service we received pushed us to look elsewhere. Good for us... but bad for EG Audi's business. read more

Just because I'm a younger women who showed up in a '95 civic, nobody took me seriously. I wasn't asked any qualifying questions nor was I even followed up with. I then sought the help of a family friend at the Subaru store (Aaron). I told him my situation and he immediately was willing to help me. After vouching for me at the VW dealership, I was finally given some respect by the salesman there. After being there for hours and hours, I finally got to meet with the finance manager Rachelle. She honestly was so amazing and helped get me a loan that I could afford for the car I wanted. Just bought a brand new 2017 Golf GTI. I live in Visalia and drove all the way up to Elk Grove, roughly 200 miles and about a 3 hour drive. It was worth the drive! I put in an interest email on one of the GTIs they had on sale for the Memorial Day weekend sale and got a response from Adam within 20 minutes. This was on a Sunday and on Mothers day no less. I wasn't expecting a response until Monday. Adam was able to help me over the phone, start the process to get the ball rolling on financing and the purchase of the car. Adam kept in touch over the course of the week and got everything ready for me to head up, sign the papers and drive off in my brand new car! Happy dance, happy dance!! The very short version: My car broke down due to what I thought was a complete computer meltdown on Tuesday. My car was ready on Wednesday and I picked it up on Thursday. I was expecting to be in the hole at least a grand. ... wait for it. wait for it. $136.31!!!! This was including the gas they put in it -- uh, yeah, that was why it died on the off-ramp. Fuses and computer issues were to blame for the instrument panel failure/combustion. And guess what else? I was thinking, on my way to pick it up, that wouldn't it be just nirvana if they had washed it for me, too? I know, I know. So greedy. But .... THEY DID! THEY DID! And John, the wonderfullest man in the world even helped me put my bike in the backseat. Life was just a little sweeter today, thanks to this place. read more

They are an authorized Suzuki maintenance/Service that's where we brought my wife's car who's having check engine troubles. We went there just in case the repairs are still covered by the warranty from the manufacturer. Here's the rundown: was quoted 200 just for diagnostics alone. Charged 400+ in the end for replacing/repairing transmission switch. Although we do maintenance schedule from another shop here's what they quoted for the parts and services that needed to be done. Replacing Serpentine Belt 138.00 Replacing Battery 253.00 Replace Brake Fluid 135.00 Replace Front Strut Bushings 320.00 wiper blades 28.00 So I went to the shop I trusted. The only need replacement was the Serpentine Belt (120.00) and Brake Fluid (50.00). That's one of the reasons I hate going to the dealer service/maintenance is just total rip off. It would only help if the repairs are under the manufacturers warranty. I will never go there again since were almost done with the manufacturers warranty. read more

This a review for the service department, not the whole dealership. Straight up avoid this place like the bubonic plague. I brought my wife's vw here 5 maybe 6 times. They NEVER find a problem with it. Yes, I was plain crazy and my check engine light just didn't really come on. Yes, I just love wasting my time and yours to find nothing's wrong with my car. I even recorded the check engine problem on video and showed them. So one time was for the check engine light. 3 times because one tire continually was low on air. Every time I told them they to check the valve stem, and on last time they finally did check it and found out it was loose. Another time was because it was very low on coolant. 2 year old car with 9k miles and it is low on coolant? Maybe you guys forgot to check it the last time the car was serviced? There's a big problem with a new car loosing coolant. They just topped it off and sent me on my way. Good thing everything's been under warranty. I'm sorry but these guys COULDN'T FIND A PROBLEM WITH A POLITICIAN. Or they just don't want to tell you there is one. Makes the cars seem more reliable than they really are or something. I hate that they just say everything's fine or nothing's wrong and send you on your way. Here's a tip: Explain they work you did if any. Explain there's anything I need to worry about in the future like, brake pads getting low, or tires getting bald, etc... The only plus is everyone is really nice and polite, and they do listen to you, even though they never find the problem your telling them. All in all, go here if you need an oil change or regular service. Go ANY PLACE else if you NEED your car FIXED... NO STARS FOR YOU!!! read more

I've gotten pretty much all my work done on my GTI here and let tell you I've dumped a lot of money into this establishment. For some strange reason I can never get out of here spending less then 500 bucks. The one thing I like about this place is the work gets done fast even though it's like a 100 bucks an hour and then they wash your car. The bad thing is that sometimes they try to upsell you on stuff you don't need. The tech told me that I needed new front struts and rear shocks. When I went here to buy a car, they said they would call me back and they never did. So I bought my car somewhere else. When I came in for a recall service, they said they couldn't do it because their internet was down so they don't know what my car needed. Hrmm ok, you are a volkswagen dealership, how do you not know this stuff already? Your internet is down? Use the phone. Call someone. This is probably not their fault, but the prices for their services are extremely high. Although I like to keep my car dealer serviced, their prices made this impossible. read more

Reviewing the service department. The horn on my 2012 Jetta stopped working (out of the blue). Made an appt for Saturday morning 8am service. Kerry immediately greeted us. Ssssooooo I'M EXCITED let me just tell ya! He was SUPER helpful for me. This is my first VW, and I don't know much about warranties and blah blah blah. Well... my Jetta is still covered under the 36k "end-to-end" warranty, so replacing my horn was FREE. THEN Kerry told me that VW's also have the routine maintenance FREE for the first 36k or 3 years. I HAD NO IDEA! SSSSooooo .... we did the first (little over) 20k routine check up/service. He said come back in a few months to do the 30k, which is also covered. Then after that my 40k check up/service will by the first time I pay. I'M SUPER EXCITED!!! not many people are actually going to tell you something is not going to cost you. Instead they will charge you and let you figure it out on your own. I'm super happy with EG's VW service department... and more so with Kerry! He's fantastic. This is a review of the service dept of this dealership. I bought a CPO VW Passat 2012 last July, 2015. Sales went on smoothly, as I was already preapproved with a credit union. Of course, the usual back and forth negotiations and I finally got my car. It was pleasant and we were quite happy with the sales part. And the sales guy, I cant remember his name, but he looked like he is of Indian decent. Very nice and not pushy. He had the car detailed before giving it to me and he even mentioned a complimentary first oil change at 44k miles. He said just bring it in and they'll take care of it. I had a few problems with the car after a few weeks. The bearing is shot so its making some noise so I had to bring it back to have it fixed. They were able to fix it unfortunately they put back the struts wrong so started to make this grinding noise every time I turn the wheel. I had to bring it again to have that one fixed and I never had any problem after that. But due to all the experiences that I had with this car having those kinds of problems I was a bit leery to going back to that dealership . A few months went by I decided to give it another try and call the service department again to schedule that complimentary oil change. The car was up for a 40k maintenance and I did not want to wait for 44k miles anymore., so I mentioned the complimentary oil change the sales guy promised but the service dept guy told me that he does not have any notes and that he would not be able to honor what the sales department person said. It kind of frustrates me that they can't seem to honor what they promise. I just cancelled the appointment that I just made and we'll just go somewhere else to have it changed. We were planning to buy another vehicle with them since we had a good sales experience and despite having some "minor" repairs to the car (at the end of the day, they did fix it... And JC of the service dept was great and wished I dealt with him since the start of the problems), and despite the fact that they have an emission scandal going on. Like I said I love the car and I liked how it drives and Im looking forward to driving it for awhile. My wife saw liked a Tiguan, and wants to look at one to buy, unfortunately I felt that this is the last straw for us and will look for another vehicle somewhere else, Tiguan or not. Add: And Ive dealt with 4 of their service dept people, but I cant remember all their names. 1. JC - no complaints with this guy... Accomodating and goes out of his way to help. 2. Barry - ahm, his favorite sentence is "WE CAN'T DO IT". Enough said. He's the guy who blew me off several times with the bearing and now the oil change. 3. Guy with spanish sounding name - helpful enough, but got rude. He left me a message saying my car is fixed. I called back 10 mins to 5pm and I asked if I can still pick up my car. He suddenly said "that is why I left u a message" in a very rude, snotty way. I told him its almost 5pm and I don't know if they close at 5. He backed off. Think before you start becoming rude. 4. Lady at the leftmost (depends on where you are facing) counter - she did not really assist me, just talked to her and she passed me on to someone else. No prob with that. AGAIN, THIS REVIEW IS FOR THEIR SERVICE DEPT. ADD 3/25/17 So, another day wasted by this sorry excuse for a service department. VW sent me their 3rd letter asking me to schedule a repair for the recall of their Takata airbags RIGHT AWAY so it can be replaced. I did schedule one and when I dropped off the car, they told me it will be half a day. They call me an hour later to tell me they do not have the parts. REALLY?!?!?! They could have at least just told me before I left the dealership. Bunch of clowns there.... This is RECALL, not some sort of random parts. They told me they have ordered the parts and that they will call me when it comes. I wanted to argue but just like the past experiences I had with them, there really is no point since they do not really act on it anyway. The service guy I spoke with also does not seem to know anything anyway and appeared bored like he does not want to be there or do anything at all. Oh well, if only I live close to Roseville or if there is another dealership, I would never ever go to this awful dealership to get my car serviced. read more

The trunk of my girlfriend's 2006 Passat stopped latching this morning. Some googling found this was a common problem, but not one that VW officially acknowledges. After double checking the trunk wasn't working, I drove the car to Lasher, only to get there and find... the trunk was latched. Expecting to share a shrug with the service manager and be sent on my way, I was pretty surprised when he noted the extended warranty was almost up and the latch is covered, so we should just replace it. It took about 1 hour. This was my first visit here, but the folks here seem friendly, honest and helpful. Do note that they have wifi, but many sites are blocked, including... Lasher's. read more

I get my Jetta TDi serviced here. Their service department is excellent. Always honest and to the point. They also provide a courtesy shuttle to get me to and from work (I work nearby). I have never felt pressured in to performing any particular service. The service rep will tell me what is suggested, what is needed and what can wait. I have always been super hesitant about going to dealerships because I feel like the energy is always so intimidating and they always find some way to get extra money out of you. Although Elk Grove Volkswagen/Audi was not like this! I went in there not expecting to buy a new car, just to look around and test drive a Jetta GLI. They never made me feel pressured or anything to buy it, they just let me do my thing. It was the best experience I have ever had at a dealership. Recently purchased a new 2016 Jetta SE w/ connectivity from VW in Elk Grove. I was very happy with the customer service I received there. I initially went looking at the hybrid, but there were a few things I didn't like and the salesman, Bobby, showed me the SE. He was very friendly, and unlike many people I've dealt with in the past, not pushy. I went home to think about it and look over my options and he was quick to answer all of my questions over e-mail without harassing me, which is a quick way to get me uninterested. The rest of the staff was very helpful also, recommending what they felt were necessary upgrades, but not pestering me when I declined certain options. Overall, I was able to make the purchase without much of a hassle and am loving the new car! read more
