While catching up on one of my favorite shows, I saw a text from my dad (so grateful for his thoughtfulness) informing me that BMW had issued a recall on certain models that have a defective starter that could overheat. Thankfully, I have a BMW dealership in close proximity to my home, so I quickly scheduled an appointment with the service department. When I arrived on the day of my appointment, I was warmly greeted by a service employee (unfortunately I did not obtain her name) who did a soft handoff to service advisor Nijah. Nijah warmly greeted me and proceeded to initiate the check-in process. Since I would need a vehicle to run errands with, Nijah kindly set me up with a courtesy vehicle (2026 X3). Roughly three hours after having my car, I received a call from Nijah informing me that the technician discovered a coolant pipe that needed to be replaced and one of the run-flat tires that had developed a bubble. Being that my car is still within the certified preowned (CPO) warranty, Nijah was going to see if the coolant pipe service would be covered by the warranty. Unfortunately, his contact did not respond in time; therefore, since it was a Friday, Nijah informed me that I could keep the courtesy car over the weekend (yay!) until he received a response. I greatly appreciated Nijah's expertise and overall professionalism. He did a great job of being transparent in his communication and not making me feel like I was pressured to make any decisions. Also, when I inquired about purchasing an extended warranty for my vehicle, he was very responsive in connecting me with a member of the finance team. Although I hope and pray not to be a regular at the service department, I know that I will be in good hands if I need to get any warranty-related work done. On a side note, my wife really enjoyed riding in the X3...fingers crossed that we will be paying the sales department a visit in the near future! read more

Changes at BMW required an update for this review. Over the years I have purchased 6 BMW's here and 1 at Sacramento Niello. Sales people come and go but a few faces are still the same. The most significant change customers need to be aware of is the communication system used by BMW. When sending text messages Artificial Intelligence or Management can respond if your sales representative does not respond. Although over all it's helpful as you get answers faster it can also lead to confusion. I was told via text to come the vehicle I wanted was there. My salesman was surprised when I showed up since he never saw my message likely management had told me to come in. It all worked out though. It pays to be aware of all incentives and options available on the BMW USA and Niello websites before negotiating a new car. You should also know the payoff of your current vehicle if trading as well as its trade in value. All dealerships will low ball you on a trade in if you don't know what your car is worth. read more

I have put this review off for a while because I wanted it to be fair and honest. Something which Niello BMW was not. I have to start by saying that my salesperson Jaz, service tech Hu, and service manager Jeret all offered A+ service. This fell short from the top down. I had many problems with my brand new X1 including rattling, stalling, and lurching. Niello would keep the car for a week at a time and every time I got it back it was worse than before. The problem was so bad that it was dangerous to drive. It would automatically jolt forward, and in the event that someone was crossing the street, I could have killed them. My attorney and car insurance company both advised me to stop driving the car. At this point Jeret stated that I should contact BMW USA for remediation. The benefit here is that the company buys back the car for the full purchase price. Despite Jeret fighting for me, BMW denied my claim. The only option at this point was to sell it back to the dealership who knew it was a lemon. I walked away with a check from the general manager for the trade in value. Niello was not willing to back their product. BMW USA was not willing to back their product. Bottom line, I was out about $20,000. I've got a basket of lemons from my tree you can have for free rather than wasting your money here. read more

This is a combined review of my 2 recent interactions. 1. June. I came earlier in the year to have work done and in the process, the shop lost my front license plate :( I signed a DMV plate form and sent it back to my service advisor. Every time I checked in w/him via text, I was told that the plates take time and that he checked w/ the DMV clerk there and that they were working on it. I checked in every now and then via text and was met w/the same response. It seemed just way too long so after 4 months of waiting, I contacted the DMV clerk myself and she let me know that there was NO record of me waiting for plates. SMH. I fwd'd her my completed form email that I sent to my advisor months back (in pdf) and I was told that the form wasn't valid b/c it needed a wet signature or docusign. SMH. I had a lot of questions there. Finance sent me the form via docusign within a hour, and the clerk shipped out my plates overnight and had my plates in hand the next day. wow!! :) I was appreciative of the clerk's speediness, and then realized I had no screws for the front since the shop had lost my plate and the screws. I spoke w/the manager Jerry to share my frustration w/this process. He was understanding and actually sent someone out to my home that is 1+ hour away from Elk Grove to install the new plates. Andres came out and did a great job! 2. August. I came for my oil change and it was nice to see they are back in the building b/c since last Summer they were in the trailers while work was being done. I missed my complimentary car wash! I was there for almost 3 hours though for an oil change b/c my appt overlapped into their 1 hr lunch time, where the technicians take their break. I am all for this and believe everyone needs a real break to enjoy their lunch. So that added time to my wait, and then I didn't realize that the car washes are done by hand, and I imagine they had other cars to wash besides mine, so that also added time. The waiting area is nice and comfortable. They offer complimentary waters, coffee, tea, and snacks. TV, free WiFi and comfy chairs. 1 star Harassed Nonstop -- Completely Unprofessional I need to warn others about how aggressively Zach Wallace operates. I never agreed to anything, yet he called me relentlessly, day after day--sometimes multiple times in the same hour. Check the screenshot I've attached if you think I'm exaggerating. What's worse? When I finally picked up out of frustration, he admitted that his boss is "on his ass" and that's why he has to keep calling multiple times a day. Beware of purchasing Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle from Niello BMW Elk Grove! I purchased a 2022 BMW CPO and was told it passed their stringent inspections, and the vehicle was in like new condition. So, i bought it and paid a few dollars more than the other similar models I could have purchased that were not CPO, Within 2 months the brake warning light came on and I took to BMW for inspection. The service department said rotors and pads were shot and below allowable limits. I contacted the service department 2 times asking for help and they told me they would not do anything about it. Not an ethical response in my opinion. Ended up paying over $1,900 for the repairs. As a buyer, I would've expected that it meant something when they advertise it as CPO rather than just giving it a car wash. to look nice. read more

Oh my gosh - this was the worst car buying experience of my lifetime and probably several more in the future. The all male employees discriminated and WOULD NOT sell me a SQ7 because of being disable and female. I'm embarrassed I have my name attached to such a scathing review and I'm sharing such private details but I don't know what else to do. I am working with an attorney now. I have all documentation. I tried to purchase a vehicle all cash beginning Saturday and by Thursday they still will not sell it . Sales employee Vlad tells me on Monday if I have the cash ready by 4pm, the car will be ready and delivered by 6pm.... Sales employee Vlad and finance manager Angad let us know the following day once there is cash ready to transfer and embarrassingly enough I did not negotiate for the first time in my life buying an audi because Vlad and Angad shared negotiating was against their policy....It's now Thursday and they still will not sell the car - i don't understand. I had to ask 5+ times for them to send a contract which was then received Wednesday I was then told they can't sell it top me at sticker price (remember negotiating is against policy) They said Vlad should have sent me another personal video from him iphone (even though on the website the car was ready to ship and sell with pics and video on the lot) The latest (remember I reached out Saturday. It's now Thursday. I was told there are small scratches so even though they would have let me drive it off the lot (I am physically disabled and need someone else to drive me) they said to send it to me 50 miles away as promised on monday by 6pm if cash was there - now they said unless i physivally drive which they know i cant that they need to hold it and now for some reason repair the bumper??? Why will they release and sell this car to an able bodied man and not a disabled female over 40? Had anyone else had this issue, specifically women? They also did a hard check on my credit because they said they needed it even though I was paying cash? What is going on at this dealership? But I reached the point where my car told me I needed to do my vehicle check and oil change. Got in on a Saturday and Minh took care of me. BEWARE Service Repair Center is dishonest. But you be the judge. Our 2019 BMW 530e was in perfect condition with AAA insurance. No prior accidents. In Oct 2024 husband had what we thought was a minor accident. Brushed up against the cement divider in a construction area on freeway. The driver side wheels took the brunt, scaping the metal down, scratches on corner of fender, and minor scratch on side view mirror. NO dents, just scrapes. Tires were fine. Dash warning lights came on of course and the car started driving a bit off. He drove it home, then decided to file a claim and chose to have BMW do repairs instead of AAA recommended facility. What a mistake! We had it towed to BMW Elk Grove, out of caution. Quote came back that it would over $12k+ to repair, and that was NOT including wheels and body work to fix the scrapes. They claimed the Rack & Pinion had to replaced and a laundry list of other stuff per their fancy computer print-out. Talk about SHOCKED! Our insurance said, NOPE we're going to "total it" gave us a payout price, or we could "buy it back". After getting over the shock, we decided it would too much hassle to try and have it fixed ourselves, and we'd have a salvaged title car. Extremely disappointed, we told insurance we'd just take the settlement. We would never be able to replace with amount paid. Adjuster said, we had 3 days to change your mind. The same night we talked to our very good, life-long friend, who has his own automotive repair facility in another state, in the business over 30 years. We told him what happened and he said, that sounds very fishy and INSISTED we buy it back. If we didn't, he asked if he could buy it. We agreed. The next day, called adjuster and told him, and husband drive down to BMW to make arrangements to have it brought back. BMW said, we were too late, the car was already sold off to salvage and it's gone. WHAT? That can't be right. Luckily the tow truck driver who had taken it from our house to BMW happened to be there for another job, and he overheard the conversation and chimed-in and said what are you talking about, that Car is out back exactly where I left it the prior day. It's there now. I just saw it. The BMW guy tried to play it off, and said he was confused on which car. We had tow truck driver bring it back to our house, and our friend made arrangements to have it shipped to him. When our friend started diving into what would be needed, he removed the sealed compartment where the Rack and Pinion are housed and found that the wiring (inside this sealed area) had been torn apart. He could not fathom how that could have happened by brushing up against a divider. It looked like it had been purposely torn apart. He said, there was a small opening where someone could have shoved a long tool up grabbed the wires and yanked. To fix it, all he did was soldered the wires back together, gave it an alignment, and spent a couple hundred $ for a special BMW code reader to make sure no other codes were present. Took it for a test drive and all the dash lights were gone, and car drove perfectly. Here's the kicker, when he went to register the vehicle, it was a CLEAN title. BMW did NOT report the damage as SALVAGED. Our friend now has a Great car for cheap, with a CLEAN TITLE! In my opinion, there is someone at BMW Elk Grove that is trying to SCAM people. We are now out of a car, but at least the person who gets to benefit from this scam was NOT them! We've contemplated if there was anything we could do to get justice or hold them accountable. At minimum, we could share our experience as a warning to others, who may benefit from a hard lesson learned. When insurance company suggest you use their "authorized" repair facility, instead of the dealership, there is probably a reason why. We chose not to, thinking we would be getting better parts and service from BMW dealership, but instead, we are OUT OF A CAR! read more

Wanted to buy a 2016 BMW 340i 97000 miles on it. $21000 for the car. They would not do the 100,000 mile maintenance on the car to keep cost down, thats what they say. No so they could bill me for it on future service calls. If I brought my car in for service, and it had the same mileage on it there service rider would be trying to sell me 100,000 mile maintenance package. The labor rate is $250 a hour. That is how this car lots make most of there money now of days is threw service not the sell of the car. They where polite but they do not live up to what they say. Service is a big thing on any car reaching 100,000 miles and they would not do themselves what they would recommend to me. They told me they only did safety inspection on car that is all their required in who's book theirs of course. read more

I purchased a used BMW X3 from Niello in February and have to say I am beyond disappointed in their service. During the purchasing process, I took the vehicle to be inspected by a third party. All was well aside from the brakes measuring at 3-3.5mm. I returned to Niello stating that selling a vehicle that was so close to needing new brakes was simply not good business practice and was walking the line of what is legal for used car sales in California. They assured me they would not sell a vehicle with less than 4mm, took the car, and checked it over. Still, they insisted that the third party was incorrect and the brakes were at 5mm. I decided this hiccup was not worth voiding the sales process and kept the vehicle. Unfortunately, within 3 weeks the brakes were squealing and clearly in need of replacement. I would expect slimy behavior like this from a run of the mill small dealership, but not from a branded dealership. I have learned my very expensive lesson and would highly recommend against buying from this dealership. Update: Niello contacted me immediately following my review being published on Google. After several phone calls back and forth, they offered to pay me for half of my costs as long as I removed my review in its entirety. I agreed to update my review to include this attempt at rectifying the situation, but stated I would only take it down if I was reimbursed in full. I was told management would be consulted and I would be called back. Two weeks later and I never hear back. Again solidifying to me that this dealership is uninterested in the best interest of the customer and only cares about maintaining their reputation. Had my costs been fully reimbursed (since I attempted to resolve with them in the first place), I would have chalked it up to a series of unfortunate events and deleted all negative reviews. read more

It was time to replace Corina's 328i as it had been out of warranty for a couple of years. We planned on doing it last Spring, but then Covid hit and we have laid low. We dealt with Darren Wilkerson and the guy know his stuff. I do recommend him highly as he went the extra yardage for us. Corina wanted to try a small SUV this time so we were looking for an X1. They had one that we really liked the way it was equipped. At first glance, it looked black but it was actually a dark metallic olive. Pretty cool. This is the third car we have bought from Niello and we have always been treated very well. As long as it is under the factory warranty we will also have it serviced here. We'll miss the 328i as it was a great car and whoever owns it next is a lucky person. read more
