Although this time I brought it to a reputable shop to have the work done as: 1. Bernings doesn't honor their work, no warranty. 2. I didn't want to go through the same issue I had with the rear axle, paying for repairs and then repeated failures. 3. I' wanted the work done right. The universal joint that was replaced at Bernings turned out to be the incorrect part which then of course failed. In addition, the tie rod end I had replaced at Bernings also failed. As I stated in my previous review, the technicians (I'm using this term very loosely with these clowns) have no clue what they're doing. And the owner, your typical con man. So be warned, stay away from Bernings.

They don't try to "upsell" everything by telling you 20 other things you should have them do to your vehicle. They will tell you if something truly needs attention though. Excellent service is rare anywhere you go, but it's what I get when I take my cars here. I'm willing to pay to have Alford's do the work because I trust them to fix what's broken and to also let me know what I need to keep an eye on. But they have NEVER tried to pressure me into fixing those other possible repairs they have noticed. I keep a family fleet of cars going and having a place to bring them where I know I won't be jerked around is great. I highly recommend Alford's repair. They originally told me it's $160 for a diagnostic and I ended up paying $169. I'm really…read moredisappointed in my experience here. The diagnostic did not cover some key tests I expected as part of a standard diagnostic. They failed to do a full scan of all systems and failed to check previous codes that were causing problems as well. When I asked about further testing, they wanted to charge me extra. I ended up taking my car back without getting any repairs done. I feel like I didn't get the full picture of what was going on with my car. Also seems like they upcharge significantly on basic parts compared to other shops. Would not recommend.
