My review is based on the facials only. I've been here 3 times and recieved great service. My first visit, I had the custom ella facial done by Julie. My facial had the microdermabrasion and I love it. Julie knew my skin type. She told me I had thick skin, so I am prone to acne and will have young look for a long time. She recommend that the derm is best for my skin. she was right. I saw and felt an improvement in my face. Julie took her time on the derm because I have uneven texture from post acne scaring and my skin can handle the derma a lot better than most people. After the treatment, she recommended that I continue with the derm. Also, she gave me some samples of some products which help my skin. The facial was relaxing and Julie was very friendly. She suggested I get a quick facial with derm because the derm is more important then the other steps. So I scheduled my next treatment as a quicky facial. My second facial, I had a quick facial with derm. The quick facial was really quick. It felt like a 15 min session. I think it was just a very simple cleanse and the derma. I prefer the custom ella better. My third treatment 4/14/15. I did the custom ella again. I saw a really big improvement in my skin. my skin is whiter, smoother, and just away better overall. I recommend the custom ella because it's a facial design to meet your skin's needs. Julie is the best. read more

The first two times that I came for an eyebrow waxing, I got Julie. She is fantastic. I had to reschedule an appointment and so I was not able to get Julie for my third appointment. Big mistake. When I left my eyebrows appeared to look fabulous and everyone was super friendly as always. However, after I went home and washed my face, I realized that the aesthetician had actually done a horrible job and covered up her mistakes with eyebrow make up. I knew that she was using the make-up during my service, but thought that it was just filling in the thin spots that I have on the edges. Not so. She made my eyebrows two totally different shapes, and they are no longer thick as I have been growing them out, but thin (especially on one side). I'm sad because I thought I'd found a new "eyebrow home". She was very friendly, but I feel there is a lack of integrity here. read more

This review is for their Blue Mani and Brow Waxing. My first experience at Ella Blue was their Blue Mani and I was thoroughly dissappointed. It started out ok, the woman did soak my hands and do a sugar scrub which was nice, but then when it was time to push my cuticles back she would barely touch my hands. She shaped them well and polished them quickly. The message was ten seconds if that and there was no paraffin dip. For $26, that is an overpriced mani in my opinion. The service was not worth that amount. Next, I experienced a brow waxing. It was my first waxing. At the beginning of the session, I wrote on a paper what medications I was on, as I'm on a retinol face cream. The woman did not read the paper to tell me that I am not a good candidate for waxings and as it was my first ever waxing, I did not know that. Well, she told me after my skin was completely ripped off, leaving it raised, shiny, and beat red for about 5 day after the actual event. Then it peeled for 3 days. To make matters worse when she did tell me, she tried to blame it on me saying that I didn't tell her that I was on a face cream when I had written it on the form before she even started. Needless to say, I would not reccommed it and will not be going back there myself. read more

Ella Blue is a very cute place dont get me wrong, how ever, The owner is a complete BITCH!! As the owner she needs to work on her professionalism, I got a facial last week and she was in and out of the room about 5 or 6 times while I heard her joking around with other people up front, then, she was still trying to get me to spend more money after my facial, she see's clients as $ signs and that is it! If Im spending $130 on a facial you shouldnt feel like you're an inconvenience to them. I still go there for my nails, Michelle is AWESOME, I had a bad experience at Polished and she fixed them for me, I get so many compliments on my nails now, They r by far the best Ive ever had, I would follow her any where!! read more

Love it! I went for a Mani-pedi. Denise was great. She used hot stones to massage my legs. It felt so relaxing. She recommended the opi axxium gel for my manicure. She combined two pink colors and it turned out very pretty. read more

BEST PLACE EVER. Julie is amazing. Her take a decade facial took years of my face. wrinkles were smooth and my skin was glowing. They do a great job on manicures. Customer service is great. Went there for the first time yesterday. Walked in needing my eyebrows touched up badly. The service was really nice. The atmosphere was friendly and they didn't have the salon/spa smell that some places do have. Julie cleaned up my eyebrows for me and I went ahead and got my lip waxed. It was pleasant, not painful at all whatsoever. Corinne was kind enough to treat me to a make-up touch up and showed me some of the awesome products that I will be splurging on soon. Overall, the girls are nice and super personable. They sent me away with a smile and a delicious lollipop. Will definitely go back there again. Soon. read more

The girl that did my nails name was either neecy or meecy I forget but she persuaded me to get gel because it was better for my nails. I was very happy with them she did a great job. Went there for a massage today that my boyfriend had purchased for me for Valentine's Day. Definitely plan on coming back. I hadn't realized all the additional devices that they offer here and such a cute salon. Christina did my massage and she was great! My BFF and I wanted a relaxing girls day and we chose Ella blue's groupon for a "staycation" day. We were welcomed warmly upon arrival and promptly taken to a candlelit private room where we changed into cozy robes (although the ONLY size available was Small, which is quite presumptuous as people come in all shapes an sizes) :/ After a short wait we were offered a glass of red or white wine, (we chose white as it was Sunday at 11 am, so a nice Pinot Grigio seemed appropriate) we then each received a lovely hot stone foot soak and relaxing leg massage. Then it was massage time. Our massages were staggered, my friend going first while I enjoyed my wine and the peace and quiet. :) When my turn came, the massage was very nice and we left feeling refreshed and ready for pasta at noodles and co!! oh Ella Blue...i never really did pay any attention to you but i've always been curious about that little place. it just took one "girls day out" with my cousin to relieve all the stress we've been going through and i must say i'm impressed! Friendly faces greet you at the door and offer you drinks from water to wine even before getting comfy. They had a great deal on an hour massage by Janette ($49/hr) that can't be beat. I've had some pretty great massages and not so great ones and Janette did an absolutely amazing job! So good in fact that i'd compare it to some massages i've had in pretty high end places. I highly recommend her. :) Next I had a facial...they brought me into the room next door and i fell in love with it. They had dragonfly lights on the ceiling peeking through sheer fabric...such a relaxing atmosphere with spa music playing in the background. Anne Marie did my facial and did a great job as well. Facials are above the $50 range but most last for an hour so i think the prices are reasonable. There was a coupon out that dropped the price for mine (regularly $79, down to $59) so i was happy with that. Great place, good people, relaxing atmosphere...perfect for that R&R that we all need from time to time. read more

I have been going to Ella Blue for about a year now and I really love it. Maria does my gel Mani's and she's really good. I go back to Maria every two weeks, and the gel always lasts that long. Julie, the owner also does what is called the Take a Decade Off Facial, which is really unbelievable. I love her. She makes your skin look amazing! read more

Very disappointed in the customer service of Ella Blue. I have also never had a treatment here and was looking forward to giving them some business. I am planning a baby shower for a dear friend and a small number of women and was working with the coordinator on all the details. At first, she responded very quickly and I booked 2 massages and 2 pedicures and unfortunately never heard back. I tried calling and the phone just rang and rang and rang with no answer. I finally made it to the salon in person and waited in line with no acknowledgment for 15 minutes. Then when I was finally acknowledged I explained the situation and was told to yet again hold on so she could help another customer. I waited for another 5 minutes. At this point I was very frustrated but keeping calm (thank goodness I am patient). Come to find out once I was actually helped that the reservations were never made, they were fully booked and they would've required the exact numbers and a credit card to hold the day. This was never communicated to me, I have thrown numerous Baby Showers and Bachelorette parties and this was the first time I have ever encountered such poor customer service. The owner did apologize but not before telling me that I should've been my own advocate and I should've reached out sooner. This rubbed me the wrong way because I shouldn't have to hunt a business down for information and the only way I could get in touch with anyone was showing up. I am now stuck with a baby shower without a location a week before the date on the invitation (and the wrong location on the invite to boot). Luckily I was able to find a nail salon that could accommodate us, though I was really hoping for a massage salon for my dear friend to celebrate the birth of her second child. Needless to say, I will not being going back and hope you would think twice about doing so as well. read more

I went to Ella Blue last April or May. People say the spray tans aren't that good. I've tried the waxing and they did it pretty well. The person that did my eyebrows made it look very nice and she was so nice. She made sure I was okay the whole time. It was my first time getting my eyebrows waxed and she made me feel so comfortable and she didn't hurt me. If you explain to them how you want the eyebrows to look, they do it right! They werent even ready for me when I arrived in the morning and if you enjoy being talked about after you leave, then this is the place for you! Horrible . Totally got tricked into membership with promises of pampering and good service . Not at all what I got , basically payed the 6 months I signed up for but never went because they said my credit would never expire. I called about 1 month ago before my trip to Mexico because I wanted to make sure I still had the $180 and they said they had no record of me because of the new system. Furious I demanded them to figure it out and they asked me if they could call back, they never called. I called them again the next day , a new girl asked if she could call the owner and get back to me, never called me back. My third call I was so upset willing to get bank statements and they "found" me in the system. I went in to get a spray tan and they were rude asking me if I was a member I said i had credits and then the girl at the front said "well that doesn't mean your a member , looks like your 6 months are over" I am an adult and felt pale so I overlooked that and got my tan. I received a $100 gift card for my birthday from my dad. I recently just move to Elk Grove and didn't know where to go for services. So, I went in to check the place out. While I was there, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They offered me the "passport" package where you get to try a little bit of everything. I figured "why not"? I started talking with the staff about my issue with under eye creams and how I couldn't find one that didn't have anything in it that irritated my skin with harsh chemicals. I tried their eye cream and love it (Did I mention that the passport also gives 15% off of purchases?)! So far, I have used the facial. It was nice and very relaxing. What I really love is the product line. Since, my last visit, I have purchased the facial moisturizer and want to go back for the face wash and makeup remover next! I have had a lot of different spa treatments, but the one I received recently really was bad. I purchased through a Groupon and it was the worst waste of money and time. Most of the hour and a half that I was at the facility was spent "relaxing" and the person will be back shortly. For the whole treatment, I think the time that the person was actually doing a service was maybe 15 minutes. If I wanted to sit in a chair and relax, I would do it at home. I have been going to Julie for several years now to have my eyebrows waxed and she does an amazing job! (And I am pretty particular about my eyebrows) I have also had facials here which have been excellent. And over the years, I have tried a lot of the Ella Blue line of makeup and have slowly converted. I have very sensitive skin and the line is wonderful. I have had no issues since trying the makeup line and have been getting lots of compliments since I started using it. There is also a makeup artist named Richard who works on Friday's and Saturday's who is really good and has given me some invaluable makeup tips! I received a gift card to Ella Blue and got the pumpkin peel. It was marvelous. Since receiving a free skin care analysis my jawline acne has gone completely away. I have stuggled for over 2 years with this. I have not been purchasing a million products, I only use the minty fresh and sometimes use the glycolic acid wash. I used to take a prescription for my acne and now do not need to. I am very appreciative of the owner providing me with this information that I don't need to take medicine for my type of acne. I saved a lot of money this way. After trying just about all of their treatments(massages, facials, tanning, nails, pedicures) I decided to hire them to do my bridal party and my wedding make-up for my wedding on July 11th and they did an amazing job. They went on-site from 12noon until 11pm. I will never forget their friendly and helpful assistance and positive attitudes the whole day. Their shop is inexpensive and clean -- two factors that are extremely important to me. All employees are nice, happy and don't pressure me to buy anything I don't want. I love the decor in the private rooms and the fact that they accept walk-ins. I have gone to many other day spas and patronized other massage salons and this one is the best with regard to class, style, cost and customer service. I highly recommend them to men and women and children. My daughter is 12 and began getting acne and once again, they analyzed her skin and age and now it is gone. They have products for men as well and I like Ella Blue because I don't have to guess if I got the right product or get home and wonder if the salesperson was just selling me or really interested in getting me a product that will help me out and not waste my 20 bucks. Their products work and they always give me a week sample to try before I buy. Now that is a great way to keep your customers coming back and keeping them happy. They always keep my room private so no one just barges in while I am dressing or receiving a quiet facial treatment or massage. It is a professional salon that I recommend. read more

I have never been to such an unprofessional salon! They have no idea what upscale means! The owner Julie was rude and I did not enjoy my facial at all, plus they are VERY expensive.
