I've never had my hair done here but my sisters and mom have and it always comes out great. I tell myself that if I ever get my hair done....it will be here. Price wise is comparable to other salons, maybe even more. However, he does a good job. I approve. My personal experience is based on Soo, the permanent makeup artist inside this salon. She's having a special right now but ends at the end of June. Gradation eye brows + eyeliner for $300! Normal price is $500. Thats a great deal! I just got my eyebrows microbladed (3D) done today. Price is $200. It looks ok. I'll need to go in for a retouch later to get some areas filled and even them out. My mom did the Gradation + 3D (microblade) done, $350 regular price. I was a little annoyed bc she was rough with my eyes when she knew I had my permanent eyeliner done only a few days ago and is still healing. For that I remove a star. She should be more careful. Also her lines are a bit rough, thick and long compared to some other Microblading out there. I see 1 harsh cut on top of one of my eyebrows thats horizontal. Looks out of place and not natural. I'll have to make sure she fixes this later during my touchup. The photo below is right after the job. Color is supposed to come off significantly in a week or 2. Hence the touch up is needed. And she mentioned how she likes to do the first round dark so you see more color. I'll post a photo of different stages later. Soo doesn't speak english so that might be a problem for some. You should come with the area you want done bare, then she'll have you draw what you want on that area and WALLA! She does her thing. Parking is moderate but free. read more

I just walked-in on Sunday afternoon to get my hair dyed and to get some fresh haircut for my friend's wedding. JANE took care of me as soon as I walked into the salon and she was super sweet and caring. She asked me how I want my hair to be and she took everything I said into the consideration. I dyed my hair into light ashy brown color and I am SUPER SATISFIED with the results. Went in at 10am and asked if I can get a trim haircut, the lady said "no, not available" that she had someone going in. I don't like places like these that instead of offering to do it after she just said no. Will never go there again! Bad experience!! Zero stars!! read more

Two months ago, I wanted to get Japanese hair Straightening/ magic Straightening perm on a whim and I found this place with good reviews and pictures. I made the biggest mistake of coming here to get Japanese Hair Straightening done. The owner actually worked on my hair. The service was very pleasant until the results came out. He knew that he messed up my hair because he started to cut off 2inches saying that My hair needs a trim. After he dried my hair, I kept touching my hair and it felt like dead, haylike hair. I was horrified but I still had hope that when I wash my hair at home and do my hair treatment at home then it would be fine. I went home and washed my hair 48 hrs later because Japanese Hair Straightening you are not supposed to. After washing my hair, my hair became hair that looked like it has been exploded with bomb. Fried..!!! All curled up and ugly. The owner said he will do a treatment for my hair but, I knew this hair cannot be saved. This COSTED ME All the time growing my hair, buying extensions, having to regrow for 3-4 years, and having to invest more in hair care products. Rethink before getting your hair done here... Shoutout to Lewis who did a wonderful job with my haircut. He was very careful and precise when taking care of my hair. The smell of the shampoo and conditioner from salons always tend to be the same but this one had a gentle coconut aroma that made me feel so relaxed. My hair was like dog fur, dry, tangled and nappy. Lewis deep conditioned my hair and made my hair look brand new. He cut it so that my hairstyle complimented my round face and emphasized the healthier parts of my hair. I received a lot of compliments that I looked like a doll with my new haircut. Lewis is a great hairstylist and I highly recommend. Location is right next to the pho house, Orange bar and Boba time in a plaza so parking is shared but never an issue. Depending on the length of your hair, the price ranges. My hair was pretty long so a cut was $45. My hair feels healthy and happy! read more

Loved my hair appointment!!!! They exactly got the color I wanted and were so so nice. They did everything I wanted and even though they were working overtime, they made sure my hair came out the way I wanted. It was too much on my hair to bleach and dye it in one day so they even allowed me to come back the next day and continue. Very nice and I got my hair done by Yuri!! You should definitely try this place out :) **UPDATE** My color was a little blotchy and they fixed my hair for free!! So nice they were so apologetic about it and worked on it very well! I forgot her name but she fuked up my hair...I didnt notice at the shop because they put hair spray and all that shit but after coming home and drying off my hair, once side is fully shaved in to the top and other is hardly cut at all...you guys made me to thank covid for not having me go to work...horrible experience... she was trying to sell me shit during the entire hair cut session. Phillip is a pro! I've never walked in before but I've always made an appointment and he is the best hairdresser I've encountered. Typically, I've been going to barbershops the last few years. I haven't been to a salon in a while but Phillip has changed that for me. I can definitely see his experience in the way he uses scissors to cut my hair and also how quick and efficient he is. My haircut takes me no longer than 20 minutes and especially during the time of COVID-19, they were taking the proper precautions. I 100% recommend Phillip. The prices are definitely on the higher end ($30 for my haircut) compared to the prices from barbershops, but the quality of the haircut you're getting is way better and worth it. read more

If you ever want a great cut and digital perm, ask for JANE! I actually don't have a favorite hairstylist that I frequent (part of that has to do with the fact I hate going to the hair salon, heh), so every time I get my hair done (once a year... maybe), it's an adventure. I called in on a Friday morning and I was able to get an appointment for that afternoon. I didn't specify anyone, so it was going to be double the adventure! However, the Lord blessed my flat hairstyle with JANE. *Insert chorus of angels here* These days, getting one's hair done is SO expensive, and Phillip's Hair Salon was reasonably priced for the modern hair salon. The real challenge will be to see how long the perm lasts. However, for efficiency and skill (these are a few of my favorite things), and just the right amount of conversation (I'm an extroverted introvert), I highly recommend JANE! (And the assistant, MARIA, gives a GREAT scalp massage after the perm!) I have received SO many compliments this past week (I would have had a whopping $1 if I received 10¢ for every "New 'do, new you!'s"). Needless to say, I'm very happy with my perm and cut, and especially if my curls last a while, I'll come back to see JANE! :) read more

I'm male and decided to grow my hair long past my shoulders. I read good reviews and decided to try this place out. Walked in and wait about 20mins for him to finish the lady. I noticed he was very detailed and took his time with her. My turn and I got hair washed and robe. Sat down excited and told him I wanted it layered with texture. He grabbed a bundle of hair here, cut, and a bundle there, cut, and 2 minutes later I was done! I thought thats all the time needed for layered and textured hair and tipped hom $10 for a total of $40, but I was wrong. This was a year ago, I found out he didn't cut my hair properly after going somewhere else this year and the barber spent 30 minutes, parting sections, and cutting part by part. For a first time customer, he definitely lost business from myself, family, and friends by word of mouth. read more

First of all, I have dealt with a lot of other hair salons and barber shops since I am very picky. But, I always have an AWESOME experience with Phillips Hair Salon and especially with Jane. I was speaking with her today, I had a lot questions regarding what to do with my hair, pricing , what kind of products they use for any damage , etc. Jane was really patient with me and answered all my questions. Look for Mr. Lewis for your hair cut !! He's the best I've ever met !! :) I went to the salon with my 4yr old boy today. It was first time for us there. We met a guy whose name called Lewis and we both got a haircut by him. OMG I just noticed that he's the one that I was looking for !! Glad that I found one finally !! First time costumer done by Jason. He seem knows what to do for 22 years experience in the industry. Love my new hair style now. Told him to figure it out what's the best style on my face. My sister referred me to this small salon (and her cut was amazing by the way) and I am pleasantly surprised after getting a digital perm today by Yuri. She was so friendly and approachable, and helped me get the perm that I wanted. I didn't know too much about hair or how the digital perm would come out on me, but she was super helpful throughout the process. I saw the yelp reviews/hair pictures by her on Yelp and decided to trust her on my perm, which was a good decision! I really like how the perm came out on my hair and also love that prices are more affordable than some other salons in the area. I'll definitely be back maybe for a cut in the future! read more

If I could give a "0 star rating", I totally would. We walked in and the male hair stylist informed us to sit down. We were informed that the cost would be $135-$145 for blonde highlights and that a free touch up was included. I mentioned the 10% discount and he agreed by saying no problem. The whole procedure took about 2 hours when it should have taken less than an hour. It took longer because the male stylist was finishing up a woman's haircut, which made my friend wait for 15 minutes in the chair. Then, after applying the lightening creme he worked on another woman's haircut. While waiting for about 45 minutes, he cut a male's hair. He finally came back to my friend and started the toning step, and finished off with blow drying. When it was time to pay, he said it would cost $110.00. My friend handed him a $5 bill, and wanted to get a $105 charge on his debit card. The guy takes the $5 and puts it in his back pocket and then charges $110.00. We see the receipt and I make a comment about it, but the man just smirks without saying anything. My friend didn't give him a hard time, and just signed the receipt. He even gave him a $5 tip on the paper. So, in total the man took $120. Because he sensed we weren't happy, he said we had gotten a discount because the original price was $180. He never mentioned $180 in the beginning! Plus, he was going to charge my friend $60 for a touch up the next time he goes back. Most of all, the color turned out to be brassy looking which looked unnatural. My friend was not satisfied to say the least for the price of $120, no hair cut too!!! Please save yourself the trip. read more

I am a customer for designer Sunny for more than years. She is the best of best. Recently, my hair fell apart a lot, and Sunny recommended scalp care. It is my second time to get treatment, and I feel the differences. I am a big fan of scalp therapy since I was in Korea. It is more popular than here, and I always did it. However, I wasn't able to find out the right place with the right products. Phillips's hair has an all different kind of products, and my designer uses the best matching product to me. Scalp care takes time, approximately one hour to an hour and a half, but it is worth it. When I saw the captured images that I could find out my scalp is less reddish than the previous week. I've been a client of Jane for a while now, I followed her to Phillip's hair salon. I haven't been able to find another hair stylist like her. She always knows what I want and is very friendly. Finding an honest hair stylist is rare. I initially wanted to bleach my hair, but she suggested against it based on the condition of my hair and she already knows how I never take care of it.. I came in with long, damaged hair from coloring and I needed a new hair cut desperately. I called and asked for same day availability, and a nice man named Lewis answered the phone and said he was available for 3:40. After a couple minutes I realized I had plans for later in the day, so I called again and asked if he had any earlier appointments and he graciously accommodated me. He was very kind and understanding! Lewis knew exactly what to do with my damaged hair. I did not give very detailed instructions but I trusted him because he made me feel at ease. He didn't cut off too much which has been my experience sometimes at Korean salons. He took my instructions and worked his magic! I am very happy with the result! Also, he must have seen how embarrassed I was with my ends that got tangled every time he brushed it, so he thinned out the ends and gave me a keratin heat treatment to help heal my hair. I greatly appreciated his care and attention to detail. I highly recommend Lewis for your next hair cut! read more

If you're in the area looking for a new haircut place, Phillip's is definitely worth a shot. Ask for Sunny. I've been getting my haircuts from Sunny for 10+ years now (she recently moved her workplace to this shop). The reason why I stayed with her this long is because she follows men's hair trends, has plenty of years of experience under her belt, and is versatile in her ability to cut hair based on what you want. No more nightmares from bad haircuts, hiding under baseball caps, and no more uneven fades. I've definitely went through a lot of hairstyle changes (short to long - fohawk, comb over, etc) within the past 10 years I've had my haircuts with her, and never left the shop disappointed. I usually don't like to leave a lot of reviews on Yelp b/c I'm busy/lazy, but when I heard that she recently moved shop, I felt obligated to write her a great review since she took such great care of me for so many years. She always provides excellent customer service & is really accommodating. This is the type of hairstylists you need in life. Highly recommended. read more

The first installation was placed too high, not blended, not color matched, and the attachment points were clearly visible. I returned for a correction, but the issues were still not fixed. I was then charged a second time for services that should have been included in the first appointment. She didn't do the work correctly the first time, and the second time the work was still only halfway done -- yet the charges were even higher. Not honest at all, and it felt like she cared more about charging the maximum price than about my hair. My hair could have been done within an hour to an hour and a half at most, but I was kept there for over three hours because the owner kept leaving to work on other clients while her assistant worked on me. She probably spent about an hour total on my hair, yet I was sitting there for more than three hours. It felt overbooked, rushed, and money‑driven, not professional. One of my bundles was cut down to about one‑third of its original size, and the removed hair was never mentioned or returned to me. Several beads were installed incorrectly, with the hair not looped fully through the bead, leaving the strands stuck and ripping when I tried to comb it. Even after two visits, the extensions were still not blended or cut properly, and the attachment points are still visible if you look closely. For the price I paid, this should never have happened. When I attempted to resolve the issue directly, the merchant offered only a $100 refund and stated that was the maximum she was willing to provide. I'm sharing this so others can make an informed decision.

I highly recommend Jane hair stylist for hair color. I've done color at other salons before but I was never fully satisfied because there always seems to be a distinct border line between where the color started and my real hair color. But Jane stylist had a great technique to ensure my hair looked natural and the color was seamless. Also my hair was not as damaged as I anticipated. In between washes she had her assistant lather on hair treatment cream for twenty minutes and I thought it was awesome that she offered that service. Over all, it took me a couple of hours to get this shade but it was worth every minute. There was another lady getting hair color by a different colorist and we finished around the same time and I could tell Jane had a better technique and my hair looked like it was less damaged then the person next to me. It's been about two weeks since visiting the salon and my hair still looks great and the color is not faded yet. I will definitely visit her to get my hair cut and colored again! Lewis literally saved my boyfriend's hair! My partner has a severe receding hairline and came into the salon a few months ago with very long hair. I've been telling him for six years to get his hair cut, and he finally had the courage to try a short cut. He wasn't sure with the severity of his hair loss if he'd even be able to keep any of it, but Lewis has magic hands and gave him a seriously attractive cut! I will SING praises about this Lewis for as long as I can because not only did he give my partner an amazing haircut, he also gave him back his confidence, too. Jane did an excellent job cutting my hair. It came out exactly as I wanted and my hair feels much cleaner than it did before. They wash your hair before and after ensuring you come out without any messy hair. They also provide a gown for the hair service, which was nice. She was very friendly and skilled throughout the perming and cutting process. She never forced me to do any additional stuff like other designers. She just did what I asked for perfectly. Her prices are pretty amazing. My visits are usually $130 for straightforward color (single-tint) - short hair. I think prices for longer hair will cost more. I suggest going off-hours rather than on busy weekends or too close to holidays. It gets super busy and her #1 assistant (Leo) used to run around supporting several of their stylists (so you may end up waiting between processing, wash, etc.) - I took my sister there before Christmas for highlights & that was the one-time the results were not 5-star.
