Stumbled upon this healthy causal spot while walking around the area. I thought it was too good to be true, they had a large banner outside the cafe and had everything listed that I love... "vegan, gluten free, açaí bowls, fresh juices... I thought it was too good to be true and told myself not to get excited might taste like crap and be overpriced since it's so close to the boardwalk. Well this local gem stirred me wrong and I was very happy about the items I ordered. Got the grilled chicken tacos on corn tortillas and a fun banana ginger smoothie. The prices are very affordable especially for fresh clean food. Arrived at 4pm just to be told that they were closing in 10 minutes and that they only had a few items available as he had already turned off all the machines awhile ago. My health tree cafe was absolutely delicious! The greens for the base of the salad were fresh and not wilted at all. There was enough feta cheese on the salad to last the whole time I was eating it, which I feel is very rare for a salad at this type of restaurant. In addition, the chicken and cucumbers were fresh and very delicious as well! I also got the tropical smoothie and it was okay. I got the shrimp tacos and these were incredible! They were flavorful and filling! I would definitely get these again. I also had the southwest chicken bowl, which was okay, but not filling enough for $13. I was hungry a couple hours later. Also got the Super Fruity smoothie and it is delicious - nice and sweet with no added sugar! The tropical açaí bowl was also very delicious, but the portion size is so small. What a GREAT alternative to the choices at the Ocean Center. The cafe is convenient to the water park, arena, and anything on the main strip. The choices are fresh, tasty, and filling. I only needed a smoothie and a boba tea, but the girls we were with scarfed up their açaí bowls with joy. The only down for me was that my Thai Tea Boba didn't taste quite like an actual Thai Tea. I enjoyed my taro boba tea. However, they got three stars because the wait was unbelievable. It took 30 min for me to get my drink, not sure why I waited, but I did. The guy who took my order was friendly and recommended the taro flavor. He had just made one and let me try it before I ordered mine. Make sure you ask for your side choice when ordering. We went here today and ordered the breakfast sandwich that includes a side of fruit or potatoes. We only received the breakfast sandwich and when we asked for our side item the rude lady informed us that we didn't ask for it so she didn't include it. She said most people don't ask for the side and they don't give it. I showed her the menu that shows that a side is included. She still argued that if we don't ask for a side they don't give it. She ended up giving us the side item but in our mind this is completely bad business. I feel sorry for all other customers that didn't get their included side item. Dropped in during our dance competition at the Ocean Center and ordered some Boba Tea. The first time around, we went during early afternoon, and there were quite a few people. The AC also seemed to be malfunctioning as it was extremely hot. After hearing from one of the patrons that they had already been waiting about 30 minutes for their wrap, we decided to leave and try at another time. Returning later in the afternoon, we had a better experience as it was then pretty empty, and we ordered and received our drinks within a few minutes. The service was friendly and the AC seemed to be working again. The Boba Tea was pretty well made and on the less sweeter side (which we liked). We ordered Taro. At 9:00 am on a weekday we were the only ones there so I cannot speak to how busy it is during prime hours but if you're a fan of tasty sandwiches on the healthier side, I'd come here. The person taking our order was cranky and unfriendly but he made some great sandwiches. The place itself is colorful, clean, and does have both indoor and outdoor seating.
