Located next to a gas station, this is a very no-frills breakfast spot. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The food was decent, but nothing memorable. If you're looking for a quaint breakfast place with charm or character, this probably isn't it. But if you're hungry and just want a quick, simple bite, it gets the job done. We drove a bit out of the way because of the high Yelp ratings, and as visitors to the Ellijay area it didn't quite live up to our expectations. read more

Such a cute place! It is connected to the Texaco gas station. We had the Trash Can Omelette, Cuban Breakfast Sandwich, and Tater Tots. Trash Can Omelette- huge serving. We found a nice little breakfast nook in Ellijay, Ga. this morning. It appears to be a local favorite, where everyone knows each other. Dawn ordered the Cuban breakfast sandwich with potato's and I opted for a waffle, scrambled eggs and bacon. Everything came out hot and well cooked (potatoes were a little peppery) for Dawn's taste. (I loved em) overall it was a great breakfast and the service was good. Prices comparable to the area! Now off to the expedition Bigfoot museum! If you happen to find yourself passing thru or staying in Blue Ridge go out of your way to find this wonderful little country corner kitchen. I had a very tasty sandwich with my family that was very filling and delicious. The pulled pork with the tangy mustard paired perfectly. These folks know their stuff. Had misgivings about reveiwing this place cuz I don't want it getting super popular like Mercier however, if you're looking for a kickass Cuban sandwich and down home atmosphere, this is the place. Also highly recommend their flan and banana cream cake. The staff is very friendly and service is prompt. First, I would like to say great service and good food. The only reason for 4 star instead of a five star is the limited hours and size and location of the restaurant. The restaurant is connected to a Texaco gas station which could detour some from visiting and its on the smaller size so it gets crowded; however, it stays packed so you know it has good food and service. I would definitely recommend the biscuits and gravy. Personally, I had to had salt and pepper for my personal taste, but that's a personal preference. My wife had the sample platter and enjoyed it and my sons enjoyed the waffles. Overall, the resultant is definitely worth a stop in visit. read more

This is a definition of "whole in the wall" type of restaurant attached to a gas station. No table service you order at the register and serve yourself drinks. We went for breakfast and walked out feeling a bit ill with breakfast sitting heavy on our stomachs. I got the meat omelette which was a good size but not very tasty. The meat all appeared over cooked as well as the omelette itself. They do not have hashbrowns so I got the tater tots which were a good size order and tasted fine. My husband and father in law got the French toast which is deep fried. They both did not enjoy and said it was overcooked and tasted burnt. read more

I didn't get a picture of our food, but know that everything was really good! My husband got the bologna biscuit and three little pig breakfast burrito. I had the French toast platter with bacon and scrambled egg with cheese. My only note is that the cheese could have been melted a little more. The French toast had the best crunch with the cinnamon and sugar coating but still wasn't too sweet even with the syrup. Eggs cooked to perfection. My husband loved his food and bragged about the soft, fluffy biscuit. It may be a small country diner next to a gas station, but it packs big flavor. This place is seriously such a hidden gem. I mean seriously who would've thought you could find amazing Latin food in a small town in the North Georgia mountains?! I definitely didn't, but I was pleasantly surprised! My family and I have been going to ellijay for years and have always heard of this place, but for some reason had never been. Once we got there, it was obvious we have been missing out because it absolutely full of locals. The menu was the biggest surprise though. Judging by the name and the fact it is on a country road with nothing else around, I assumed this would be a southern cooking restaurant. While it did have the usual southern staples, I was surprised to find many Cuban dishes on the menu as well and decided to try some for myself! I ordered the Cuban sandwich with plantains, and I'm not kidding when I say it was just as good as anything I had in Miami, and the plantains were perfectly cooked as well! The rest of my family stuck with southern dishes and ordered a fried chicken sandwich and a country fried steak sandwich which were both delicious as well! Long story short, despite the fact that this place doesn't look like much, if you ever find yourself in the Georgia mountains and craving a fantastic Cuban sandwich this is your spot! read more

Unexpected to get 5 stars because if you judged a book by its cover (the outside of this small establishment), you might not give it a chance. I am glad we checked Yelp reviews and decided to try something new and off the beaten path. Their menu is on the board only and it seems like it might be slightly smaller than the one they typically have but there is still good variety. My husband ordered the Cuban tacos and wow, did they look amazing. He really enjoyed them. I ordered the black bean burger wrap (on a spinach tortilla wrap). I would have preferred a whole wheat tortilla but I am picky so I am not going to fault them for that. I was not sure how large the wrap would be so I also ordered a side salad. The wrap would have been plenty just by itself. The side salad was a good size, too. I loved the flavors of the wrap. There was a sauce on it that was really good. My side salad was perfect to get some more healthy veggies in me. Overall, despite the size of this restaurant (limited eating area inside), we would still stop in again and get our lunch to go, if we had to. It was great food and the value was there.
