Super small road side stop in Ellijay GA. We stayed at a cabin near by and drove past this location. Its definitely old school, they have a few tables on the inside of the establishment, but its basically a trailer with some covered seating. Dont expect anything fancy here! Everything is served in to-go containers, but the service was super friendly and the food came out very quick. Biscuits and gravy were so good!! As local as it gets! Basically a trailer with covered "indoor" seating, friendly service, and simple, good food. The Chuckwagon is a country-fried steak patty on a bun (like a fancy hamburger), and a cheeseburger is always a good bet. read more

We are not from the area and we're looking for a good and easy lunch to pop into. After pulling up we weren't quite sure on what to expect based on first impressions. I will say the food was very good and exceeded our expectations. We ordered cheeseburgers and they tasted like they were homemade. Very juice and big in size. My daughter had the blt (not pictured) and the bread was perfectly toasted and evenly proportioned with the blt. Everyone was very nice and the food came out relatively quickly. From our short time there, there were several patrons. You can tell this is a local favorite. I'd come back again. read more

There is sit down seating but the food is targeted to carry and go. A bustling walk in area as well as a nonstop drive tells a new comer this is some good stuff. And it was! Great place for a quick or on the go breakfast at an AMAZING price. The sit down ambience is to be desired but the food is what counts! Outstanding little hole in the wall. I love their biscuits, sausage, and bacon. I had a tomato biscuit last week - it was one of the top five biscuits I have ever eaten. East Side Grill. Great folks, Great food. Unpretentious roadside place with a drive through or limited seating inside or picnic tables outside. I had biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon and scrambled egg. Such a treat! Everything tasted fresh and homemade. Lady serving at the window made fresh gravy for me and it was mmm good. Hubs had a bacon cheeseburger which he said was excellent. If you want Denny's, this isn't your place. If you want good fresh down home cooking and nice people, go to East Side Grill. read more

A must stop!! Biscuits and and gravy were on point. They did not have pancakes on the menu but they were more than accommodating and made some for my kids. Super convenient since they have a drive thru. Very friendly staff! And they gave us a complimentary cinnamon roll. To die for for! Please stop and support this local eatery. The food is always cooked to order and hot and fresh. There are daily specials and all the food is good! And very cheap to boot. They are now open til 7pm so definitely go for a hot breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you don't want to go in they have a drive thru. Be patient while they cook for you. It will be hot and fresh! Best breakfast in Ellijay, Ga to have. Regardless of how you're coming you want to make this a pit stop along your way.

Blink and you'll miss the tiny all white little house that houses the east side grill. BUT DON'T! Their chicken fried steak and gravy is perfection. No one makes curly fries anymore but they do and it's perfectly seasoned. The milkshakes are super yummy - made the old fashioned way. Everything is cooked to order so it's about a 10 minute wait for the food even if you're the only one there. But it's sooo worth it. Cash only though. They have a drive through and picnic tables shaded by a tree outside for you to eat in if you don't want to go inside. read more

Ordered a sausage egg and cheese biscuit, biscuit was black on bottom and sausage was very thin and also burnt. I was the only person there so there was no rush, they could have made a better one for me instead of passing off the junk to paying customers. Disappointing breakfast. This is more of a drive-thru than a sit down restaurant. They have 3 tables and everything is served in take-out containers with plastic cutlery, complete with sullen waitress. No link sausage, no home fries and only fake butter. We're visiting Ellijay for a few days and have been trying multiple different places every day for every meal. We had lunch here yesterday and both got cheeseburgers all the way. I cannot stress enough about how good they were! Fresh veggies and bread, patty wasn't greasy, very quick. We came back today for breakfast on the way to Dahlonega and y'all I can't even begin to tell you how you haven't lived till you've had their biscuits and gravy. The philly steak egg and cheese was just as good and super ooey gooey cheesy. We're southern people who love their sweet tea sweet and the tea was perfect (for us). I would recommend these lovely ladies over and over every day of the week. read more
