We also enjoyed pretzels and a large yummy Caesar salad. The taphouse was initially busy and loud when we first arrived but quieted down and emptied out after the rush. We stayed for a while and enjoyed our time. The manager is very friendly and accommodating. Manito Tap House is a local haunt yet still very welcoming to folks who might not live on the South Hill. Located on Grand, this is your place if you're looking for a great selection of craft beers. If you're not sure what you want, the bartenders and servers are happy to provide samples too. Most of the beers are from the pacific northwest with many from the local region. During my most recent visit I had a pineapple cider. If you choose to sit in the bar area there are TVs that show sports. There is also a patio for when the weather is nice. For food, I've had burgers here that were good. I recently tried the báhi mí lettuce wraps. The flavors were excellent. My only critique is that I wish the pork was chopped up more. It would have made it easier to eat. Although, it was a pretty presentation and it paired well with the cider I ordered too. If you plan to arrive here by bicycle, there are bike racks out front. Fun, food and friends! What more can you want? Can I just say that Chelsea, the amazing server we had was so professional and helpful we really enjoyed our experience, we truly just wanted to stay the entire time and continue ordering drinks! Had the shrimp tacos with the cheddar bacon soup and split with my friend, she had fries instead. It was the perfect amount of food and delicious! This Friday was fine for service but it was super noisy in the modern industrial setting . They should have been cooked longer to give them a crispy crust and salt then once cooked. They did come with a dipping sauce that was pretty good. My date and I found a nice table secluded in the back away from people. It was easy to talk. We both ordered the jalapeno bacon cheddar soup which was delicious. Our server however seemed like she had a chip on her shoulder and wasn't excited to wait on our table. Update time! What a great food place!! I absolutely love the curry wrap! Perfect amount of crunch from the cabbage and fabulous combination of flavors! Chicken was cubed and very good too. Nice patio, and if it's full, you can sit at a table by the open big doors and still feel quite safe. Service was awesome! So many choices for beer too. First time at this place, We got served by a short stout male. Rude and ignorant. Argued like a bully with us over our orders instead of admitting he got our orders wrong. . Ruined our meal and get together. We gave it another try a few months later, this time accompanied by my 18 mth old baby. The same rude arsewipe served us. Got his panties in a twist over a disposable plastic cup that my child was still sipping water from when we were heading to the exit. He came running and shouting " can we have our cup back too!" !! Firstly: I didn't realise the business would go bankrupt over a child disposable cup. Which he did take from my child! Sevondly: What tf did he mean by "too"?? I am British, an IT Consultant, property developer and a graduate of Cambridge University with a better command of the English language than an average moron like him. The use of that word implies there was something else that he wanted back. Perhaps I should have invited him to search my baby stroller for any paper napkins" or " fine silver cutlery " that we may have knicked so we can sell them for our next meal!!! It was clear he just wanted to embarrass us in front of the other customers there. My partner wrote to complain about this incident and didn't get any response from management. Whatever new management is running the place needs to hire servers who dont have Neanderthal social skills and also to educate their staff that not all coloured people are from Mexico or illegal immigrants or need to steal !! They blew their 2nd chance..lost us as patrons for life. And we'll make sure that we share our experiences here with everyone and every social media. Went in because of all the rave reviews but was less than impressed. My daughter ordered a burger with the bacon jam on the side. It came to the table with the jam spread all over the top and the fries were not fresh. I had the southern grand dip and wanted without onions. It was served with onions. It's always nice to hang out here. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. They always have a great beer selection that is well rounded from rich porters to blonde ales. They also have ciders, hefes, and lagers. You can always sample something you have your eye on as well. Great food menu. My husband and I stopped in for an afternoon beer and snack. Spokane Restaurant Week. This restaurant/bar is hidden away on the South Hill. It has a pretty spectacular local beer menu. I started with the Palouse lentil soup. It contained andouille sausage, peppers and onions. The restaurant describes it as hearty and they are not mistaken. A great start to the meal. For the main course I ordered the lamb burger on a brioche bun with tzatziki sauce, rocket lettuce and tomatoes. I wish they had asked me how I wanted my burger cooked because I would have requested medium-well. They served the burger medium-rare. I think it would have tasted better if it had been cooked a little longer. It was still quite tasty. For dessert I had the piña colada cheesecake. This was sinfully delightful and a great way to close out the meal. I had a Cold Smoke Kettlehouse pint to wash down my meal. A very good choice. Definitely a cool vibe in this local bar. read more

Good local restaurant in South Hill - don't be deceived by its location in a strip mall. The food is excellent (portions are large, FYI) and they have an endless list of local brews. They offer indoor and patio seating; both are clean, tables cleared and wiped down promptly. They don't seem to have a huge staff, but the guys who were there were hustling and did a great job. Kudos to them for being personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. We've been there twice and our original server recognized us right away. Recommend for lunch or a cold beer. read more

It seemed understaffed because our server was helping out at the far corner of the restaurant while also serving the entire bar. Nice selection of beers. My Grand Burger was what I would call rare (not cooked in the middle). The waiter did not ask how I would like my burger cooked. The front metal framed door slammed every time the door was used for guests coming or going. Just a little irritating! The ambiance is okay. Low lighting levels (which I usually prefer, made it difficult to read the menu (also menus are printed on yellow/ orange tone which made it just a little difficult to read. The beers on tap were plentiful, but were printed on a home printer and were well used to the point some of the beer choices were difficult to read (the paper with beer descriptions was rolled at the top of the page and the printing faded - should have been pulled and thrown away and replaced with a fresh copy). Might try one more time (without guests with me). Maybe it was just an off night for the bar (Sat night - 4/1/23). read more

Service was quick, sweet potato fries were delicious! However, I did not enjoy the tacos. They have rotating tacos, and the current tacos included pork belly- I was very excited as I really enjoy pork belly, but the tacos were mid as hell. They had NO flavor (I really had to think about it to taste the flavor). My friends ordered the tap house burger, which we all enjoyed! Mixed bag. The good: hamburger patty itself was awesome. Well-seasoned and cooked to spec. Fries were hot and crisp. Good selection on the kid's menu and prices there aren't ridiculous at about $8/each The bad: the dining room is LOUD. There are a lot of diners jammed in a small space and all the polished concrete and hard surfaces just amplify the sound. Literally had to lean into the person sitting next to me to talk with them and there wasn't even music playing, it was simply the sound of people talking in the dining room. Not a relaxing place to have a conversation. Service was pretty dialed in and borderline hostile. What do you want? You? You? Ok. Ticket time for dinner was about 20 minutes. The ugly: some pretty serious food quality issues. #1: The bun for my burger was stale and crumbled apart in dry flakes. #2: Pickles were bread and butter pickles. I don't think this was intentional because they are nasty and totally unexpected on a burger. I'm guessing they ran out of dill. #3: Crunchy onions on the burger tasted like they'd been sitting out all night. Cold, chewy, and stale. So I basically just ate the fries and burger patty. The other folks seemed to enjoy their meals but everyone agreed it was too loud to talk to anyone but the person right next to you, and you had to shout at the person just across the table. read more
