Dinner at Wiley's Bistro is rich, savory comfort food done right, with generous portions, familiar favorites, and a menu worth lingering over. Excellent friendly service and cozy atmosphere. Wiley's Bistro 421 W Main Ave, Ste 104 Spokane What We Ordered: * Love Bun must order every single time. Spicy heat, crunchy bread, cheesy goodness... my favorite. * Prawns are exactly what you'd expect. * Smoked Mozzarella Baguette savory, garlicky, dip-happy bread vibes. * Beet Salad is a full 10/10. Fresh, balanced, and memorable. * Wedge Salad is classic and satisfying. * Ravioli Entrée no portobello; subbed with cheese ravioli, and it worked beautifully. Creamy, peppery, parmesan goodness. * Braised Short Ribs fork-tender, rich, drenched in a delicious wine gravy. * Mud Pie coffee ice cream vibes with Aztec fudge, cookie crumble, chocolate, and whipped cream. Kid-friendly note: No official kids menu, but they're happy to whip up a grilled cheese, hamburger, or quesadilla if needed.

4.5 Stars Delicious, unique, gourmet dishes in a cozy, classy environment. Honestly, I was drawn in by the Beef Wellington ($45+$25 on the menu). It was perfectly cooked and everything I could have hoped for it to be. A+++ from Gordon Ramsey. The chicken mushroom ravioli ($32) was also marvelous - and came in a creamy dreamy sauce. We split this between three people. The entrees all air on the salty, fatty, heavy, flavorful, rich side. Presentation of everything is beautiful. Staff are wonderful.

Romantic, quaint bistro in the heart of downtown. Delicious cocktails and hearty offerings, this is a definite place to try! Service was fantastic! - Wiley's Old fashioned served in a bowl of ice makes this a drink to remember. I typically prefer Woodford, but this is made with Makers. I loved how cold this drink was and it was delicious! - Their dirty martini was equally delicious and ice cold. It was very dirty and blue cheese stuffed olives were a plus. - the love bun was to die for- definitely a treat l, filled with ooey gooey cheese and a solid spice from the jalapeño. - the ravioli was delicious- hearty, filling and flavorful, served with a generous portion of chicken on top. - prawn phad thai was a gamble and not your typical fast order noodle dish. This flavorful dish was beautifully presented with ample prawns. It was extra saucy and a on the sweet side, which I didn't expect for phad thai but was glad I tried . I'm not sure I'd call it phad thai and that's probably the disconnect. It's more of a veggie and prawn noodle dish with a small Asian flair, definitely not a glamorous name , haha! Dessert The crème brûlée is the dessert winner - the citrus flair was light and refreshing. The mud pie was just ok. Lots of ice cream on a cookie crust but not sure I'd call it mud pie.

Excellent service from Ellie today! She is efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. I asked for a recommendation on the appetizer, I had two dishes I was considering. I landed on the mozzarella and it did not disappoint! Dan was at the bar and the restaurant got busy, with Ellie leading the charge of taking care of the whole place. I can't say enough about how flawlessly professional and efficient she is! Wiley's is lucky to have her. There's music in the background, not overwhelming. Quiet enough that it does not interfere with conversation. Food, service and vibe are all great. I'm really grateful I found this place on my work trip today !

UPDATE: The restaurant called me yesterday. The manager was very kind, apologized for the experience, and wanted to make it right. My intention with the review was only to share my experience, not to make them feel like they owed me anything. So, for them to reach out and call me was really going above and beyond. I will definitely give them another shot. Our past experiences were genuinely so great and we really loved their food. Maybe it was just an off night. Thanks again to the restaurant for reaching out. It was very kind.

Wiley's was good. I can see why the reviews are so positive. The night I went, it was extremely slow. Only one other table was occupied. I had the love bun appetizer, which was a delight for someone who loves bread as much as I do. Admittedly, it was a lot to eat by myself, but I ate probably 7/8 of it. I then had a salmon dish with crabmeat and I think over a risotto base. It was delicious with one exception - the salmon was a little dry/tough, which was disappointing considering I was visiting the Pacific Northwest and (like most) consider salmon something of a signature food for that area. I expected much better. I've had far better *pieces of salmon* in plenty of other places. However, the was it was prepared was quite excellent, so I'm chalking it up to a slow night or even an off night, subtracting one star. Other than the quality of the fish, it was a fantastic meal. If I ever have the chance to return, I expect better.

As they say 'you can't go back home again'. Back in Spokane several years after my last visit and I had such a great experience at Wiley's I just knew I had to return. Made my reservation and checked out the menu online. Some new items appeared to have been added and my favorite from my first visit seems to have been retired. But still, I was looking forward to a return trip! The only problem was as I walked to where I remembered the restaurant was, it wasn't there! They had moved, to a much nicer space, with a high-end feel! How cool is that! Although my favorites from my previous visit were gone, they had a number of new options that were again delish and great on the palette. Terrific service, same as before, has not gone anywhere and in some cases, even better. So to sum up, Wiley's is a great choice in downtown Spokane for a finer dining experience (you can always hit Clinkerdagger for a more homestyle experience).

Dessert! Key lime tart, Pots de Crème, Mud Pie and Crème Brûlée.

The atmosphere was really nice and cozy. Music playing but not so loud you can't hear one another talking. The service was top notch. We hadn't been there before so our server explained everything and answered any questions. The food was amazing. I had the crab topped salmon and the risotto cake was a great addition to the meal. I've never had anything like that. The desserts were even better! We ordered one of every dessert and boy am I glad we did. Each one was fabulous with the key lime tart being our favorite with Creme Brûlée right there next to it. I've never had such a smooth crème brûlée in my life! This isn't the best picture of the desserts, but trust me, they were so good and we will be back for sure for dinner and dessert!

I came here twice while living in Spokane. Once for Valentine's Day and once for my graduation dinner. Service on Valentine's Day was AMAZING with the coursed meal. Service the second time around, not so much. Regardless, the food both times were delicious. I tried the salmon the first time and the top sirloin the second time. Definitely one of the better meals I've had when living in Spokane!

We decided to check out Wiley's bistro from all the great reviews and my yelpers did not disappoint!!! We had a wonderful dinner. I think they were skeptical of us with our 2 kids at a foodie fine dining place, but our kids have been with us everywhere. They know how to act and love good food! Our drinks were delicious! Our food was amazing. The kids loved their food! Fast forward two years from the last review I forgot to post... We ventured to Wiley's again. The address had changed so when we arrived the building looked different. We came in and decided we hadn't been here before. After dinner I went in to post about the great meal and saw my unposted Yelp review. When we were getting ready to leave, the gal told us they had moved, lol. Our server Jaime was wonderful. Very cheerful and helpful with the menu. They had a great drink menu. My husband loved the blackberry bramble and the mango Lima was delicious as well. The special was calamari with sauces and shishito pepper and capers, we nearly licked the plate. Best part is almost the whole menu is gluten free or can be. For dinner my husband had his first ever beef Wellington. It was cooked perfectly, med rare, and he ate every bite! I ordered the special gnocchi served with Parmesan crusted salmon. It was so good, unfortunately I stuffed myself with calamari and couldn't finish it. Thank goodness for to go containers. We ordered the crispy Brussel sprouts, they were yummy as well! The worst part was our meals were so good we had no room for dessert!

Located on Main Street in Downtown Spokane, Wiley's Downtown Bistro is the ideal place to enjoy a meal before a show at the First Interstate Center for the Arts. This restaurant has a nice wine list and local art on the walls, making it an inviting space. During my most recent visit, I sat in the bar area, so the bartender was also my server. He was a little busy taking on both roles, but still was friendly and attentive. To start I had a cup of the butternut squash soup, which was the daily soup during my visit. It was so good and sprinkled with roasted pepitas. For dinner I ordered the Cesar salad with grilled chicken. The salad was overly dressed, so maybe ask for dressing on the side or light dressing. The grilled chicken was perfectly cooked.

The food was really good. I had the beet salad with Salmon cooked medium rare. It was cooked perfectly m the atmosphere was very comfortable and the decor was very cute. The establishment was clean. The service was very good and our server was very attentive. Nice place I would eat here again if ever back on Spokane.

Vegan and gluten free chocolate mousse
    Kim K.

As I was walking around the downtown area of Spokane on a sleepy and dreary Monday evening, Wiley's was just the place I needed to find! Inside there is a large amount of tables and a few seats at the bar. I got a table right at the window to look out on the street and loved the twinkle light vibes! My server was very helpful and able to get me exactly what I wanted. I am not a huge fan of spicy so appreciated the warning that the blackened shrimp were spicy and the waiter was able to have the chef hold off on the seasoning so I could still enjoy the dish I wanted. The chocolate mousse was well balanced and flavorful and I love that it was vegan and gluten free. The shrimp were fresh and well prepared and I loved the sweet chili sauce that they came with. Look forward to my next trip to Spokane to visit!

You could easily (and maybe have...) walk past it and not even know. I found my way in and was faced with a dark room and a wonderfully lit display of liquors. They infuse many of their own and offer flights of infused whiskeys. The drink menu has options that feature many different spirits. I chose a gin and citrus drink that was a wonderful blend of bitter and refreshing. I made myself sip it slowly, but it was tasty enough that I could have thrown it back. The bar tender was friendly and attentive, as well as knowledgeable. The room seemed to be recovering from the recent Hoopfest...there were coolers and some things in the back of the space. There were also a LOT of bottles on the counter behind the bar. I don't know if it is always like this, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely go back for the drink and to show it off to friends.

The atmosphere was really enjoyable -- the space has a great vibe, the drinks were well made, and overall it feels like somewhere that could become a favorite spot downtown. The food was decent as well, though not especially memorable. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the positives. From the moment we walked in, we felt more like an inconvenience than welcomed guests. The host greeted us while remaining seated at the bar and simply told us to "sit anywhere," which immediately set an odd tone. When I asked for paper menus, I was told they only use QR codes. Normally that wouldn't be a huge issue, but the menu was around 15 pages long with tiny font, making it frustrating to navigate on a phone. Once our food arrived, we essentially never saw our server again. No check-ins, no refill offers, no asking if we wanted another round of drinks -- nothing. Meanwhile, staff members were gathered at the bar loudly talking among themselves and openly complaining about being there, which was uncomfortable to listen to as customers trying to enjoy a night out. Eventually, we had to walk up to the front bar ourselves just to pay our bill. That was the most disappointing part because the restaurant truly has the foundation to be excellent. The ambiance and drinks are already there, but hospitality matters just as much as the food. A little attentiveness and genuine customer service would have completely changed the experience. We absolutely would have ordered more drinks and likely stayed longer if anyone had checked on us. Hopefully management takes service more seriously, because this place could be great with the right staff culture and attention to guests.

Most recently, on a Friday evening around 7 PM, my party was seated near the end of the bar by the restroom area. A server approached me in a confrontational manner and told me to move my chair because it was blocking the walkway. I immediately complied and moved it where he directed. Despite that, he repeatedly pushed and squeezed past the chair in an aggressive way several times afterward and then returned to confront me about it again. The interaction felt hostile, unnecessary, and unprofessional. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. On a previous visit, a female server was rude and controlling toward our table, and on another occasion when we were unhappy with a menu item, the response was essentially, "You ordered it, you pay for it," with no attempt to address the concern professionally. The atmosphere is great, which is why we've continued to come back. However, after several visits involving rude and confrontational interactions with staff, it feels more like an ongoing culture issue than a one-time bad experience. I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect basic courtesy and respect. Hopefully management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve the customer experience.

It's time for our annual trip to Spokane for my wife's immersion and if you follow my reviews at…read moreall, you know that my job on vacation is to coordinate the food. This evening we decided we would go to Sorella. A gorgeous photo of their focaccia brought us in. Since finishing chemo and radiation for my breast cancer, food has been an interesting experience for me, so when I want something, I go for it immediately. I will note, if you're interested in trying Sorella, BOOK A TABLE! We were able to snag seats at the bar, but even on a Tuesday, this place is in demand, and after enjoying our meal, I can see why. When we walked in, we were stunned. Beyond the natural light flooding into the roo,m there were gorgeous deep teal walls with a gallery wall and gold accents. The bar was adorned with gorgeous counter tops that had low lights, and a mix of velvety chairs gave it a soft luxe feel. The aroma of the food was lightly sprinkled throughout, and the décor were simply stunning. It would be a great place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, date night or just a casual moment with friends. A full menu is available at the bar and the staff was incredibly attentive - more details on our experience are below, after the food review. Now let's talk about what we ordered. We got the Focaccia (of course), Arancini, Dante's meatballs, the Cesare, the Limone and a Pasta Speciale. Focaccia - 10/10 I love when food tastes as good as it looks. The focaccia melted in my mouth and carried so much flavor on its own. The whipped brown butter was such an excellent addition and truly a masterpiece to add to it. I could have easily ordered two more (and I should have). Arancini - My rating 7/10, My wife's rating 9/10 The presentation was beautiful on this dish. My rating centers around my taste buds not aligning with the flavor profile, and not really knowing what to expect. I find myself preferring a stronger, almost cheesy flavor now, and this was a bit more subtle. My wife, however, fully enjoyed them and loved the flavor they carried even without the sauce. Dante's Meatballs 10/10 Spectacular, give me 12! These were so delicious, the meat was so flavorful and the sauce, WHEW the sauce was delicious. Yes, we did dip the focaccia in the sauce. Cesare - 10/10 I love a good salad, and Caesar is my favorite. At other restaurants, I find myself wanting more dressing or more flavor ,and I often feel like pieces of the salad are missed when preparing. This salad was dressed from end to end. We squeezed the lemon on top, and it sealed the deal. Every bite was fresh and had a slight crunch and crisp that was exactly what we were looking for. Limone - 10/10 When we looked at the menu, my wife glanced over and immediately knew what I was ordering, and after my first bite, I was so glad that I did. The execution of this dish was perfect. The noodles were thick and almost creamy alongside the butter, and there was the perfect balance with the parmigiana reggiano. When I order it again (because we will be back), I will definitely add prawns. Pasta Speciale - 8/10 I meant to snap a photo of the menu, but this was on the special menu. There were prawns, mornay, garlic, arugula and a few other things that I am forgetting. The prawns were incredibly fresh, as were the noodles, and the flavors blended very nicely in this dish. Lemonade - 10/10 The lemonade was delicious! I don't know that I've mentioned this on any of my reviews before, but I love lemonade and order it with every meal outside of breakfast. This lemonade was the perfect balance of tart and sweet. Limoncello - 10/10 We shared two of the housemade limoncello shots to go as we were checking out, and I wish I had recorded our reaction. The execution of the flavor was perfect, and it definitely packed a punch! Our server/bartender was Mary Katherine, and beyond being the sweetest, she was also incredibly knowledgable of the menu. As luck would have it, we ended up sitting next to the owner's family and got to chat with her amazing Mother throughout the night (who was kind enough to let her try some of her delicious lasagna) and ended up meeting the owner. Lauren, the owner, took a pause to talk to us, and it was so evident that she is truly such a brilliant and sweet soul. She radiates, and who she is as a person aligns exactly with how Sorella feels: ethereal. Overall, we had an amazing experience, from the ambiance to the service, the conversation at the bar, and the delicious food. We cannot wait to try Fratello's, the sandwich shop also owned by Lauren, this week.
