Good food! Nice atmosphere and an area for kiddos! I'm hoping they get more traffic because lots of people don't seem to know they exist. Worth visiting! We will be back.

A great place to grab a quick breakfast or lunch! I was on a business trip and needed a place to get some work done. The restaurant was clean and staff was very friendly. I had the cinnamon roll french toast. It hit the spot. I love powder sugar on french toach! I was there for a little over an hour and never felt rushed. When I was leaving they were setting up a lunch buffet. There seemed to be a rush coming for that. If I was a local I'd definitely come back and try some of their lunch options!

Super friendly staff. It was easy to find parking and to get takeout. They were nice enough to give us utensils and napkins as well as hot sauces in a separate container. The reason for a lower rating was we asked for it to be spicy, it was still very bland. The salsa is not spicy and can be eaten by children. The giant cinnamon roll was so delicious I got it with cream cheese... And it tasted a lot better than I thought! Definitely recommend for a fun quick breakfast on a weekend

I was excited to go for my first time based on what I heard from people I follow on Instagram who raved about this place. Then when I checked in on Yelp upon arrival I was stoked about the free pastry I scored! For the free pastry I chose the classic Cinnamon Roll. They warmed it up for me and upon first taste I questioned if my mother herself was back there making these cinnamon rolls - it was heaven. I was disappointed about the burnt bacon layered under the good bacon of my BLT, especially when the pastry set my expectations so high. I may come back for their pastries, but unfortunately their lunch food did not do it for me.

Fed the entire team a yummy lunch!

Everyone was kind and the food was GREAT! So fresh! Thank you, my lavender latte was ammmmazing!

A deeper dive showed a good possibility of gluten free options, so I made the reservation. I was in town on a Monday, just after Hoopfest, but they were the kind of busy where a reservation should always be made I think. My table was ready and I sat in the bar at a high top table. I think I would choose "in the dining room" next time. My server was friendly and quick, as well as knowledgeable about gluten free options. There is even a separate menu that lays out the dishes that are already gf or could be made to be. Love this, always. I ordered the summer salad to start. It was amazing. Flavorful. Fresh. The mint wasn't overpowering, the watermelon was the perfect ripeness. It was so good. I would try to recreate it but it was done so well, and I know I couldn't hit that dressing in the same way. Get it while you can. For my main, I had ordered the scallops in my brain before I even arrived. The risotto was a little soupy, but the flavor was SO good. The corn came through and it went so well with the scallops. The tomatoes were quite over salted, but as long as I didn't eat them alone, it was alright. The scallops were perfectly cooked and I felt like the portion was appropriately sized for the dish, even though there were only 4. My server really made the experience enjoyable. The atmosphere was busy but the booths looked like they could be cozy. The prices were on the higher end. But for a special occasion, it was worth it. I really wished I'd had room for dessert. I will surely go back the next time I am in town.

First off, I was looking for an authentic Napoli style pizza. Like a fresh red sauce from crushed tomatoes and a beautiful chewy, pillowy, yet charred crust. The verdict: Wooden City is the winner! The crust is really really good! The sauce is a bright beautiful tomato sauce that looks like crushed tomatoes however, the sauce was lacking flavor:( I would give this pizza a 3 out of 5. The crust is a 4 1/2 star but the sauce lacking in flavor..brought it down to a 3. Cute place, very pleasant friendly staff..way friendlier vibe than Barrelhouse. The boys are easy on the eyes for younger girls on the hunt! Lmao Don't bother with the Margherita pizza at Barrelhouse. Thank God I only paid $12 for the Margherita Monday deal of half off! The crust was horrible! Dominos has better crust! Costco pizza's had a better crust! The sauce has flavor, very garlicky like fresh garlicky but more of a paste with a load of oregano in it. The cheese didn't have that fresh taste I was hoping for. However, they are known for their Detroit pizza's which I haven't tried but if it's the same sauce, I would pass. Not saying it's bad but it's just not MY cup of tea whether it's for a Detroit style or any pizza. Now you don't have to guess which place has a better Margherita pizza. I wouldn't even pay $12 at Barrelhouse for a marg. Would I come back, yes, if I were in my 20's.. lol but since I'm older and the food is more important to me...no...:/ But hey, maybe their other pizza's are better! I can see a salty pepperoni being good!

That's probably the highlight of the whole experience. I started with the Cheshire Cat mocktail, which was a bit oversweet for me. It was decent, but the portion felt small for the price. Salmon rillette ended up being the best dish! It was rich, savoury, and delicious when paired with pickled onions (the bread was slightly burnt - I hated it). Ended the meal with a vanilla gelato dessert - just okay, not too wow. The biggest issue right away was how long the food took. It felt like we were waiting forever, and by the time it finally came out, it definitely didn't feel worth it. We started with the pretzel, which honestly was nothing like a pretzel. It tasted more like glorified fried dough and didn't have that classic pretzel texture or flavor at all. For drinks, mine was way too strong and just didn't taste good. It wasn't balanced at all and ended up being hard to even enjoy. For my main, I ordered the Cascadia burger medium, but it came out clearly well done and overcooked. On top of that, the egg on it was severely undercooked.. some of the whites were still clear and slimy, which completely ruined it for me. I had also heard good things about the mac and cheese, so I gave it a try, but that was another disappointment. It was bland and runny, and even after adding salt and pepper, it still had no real flavor. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich, which wasn't terrible, but it was definitely on the dry side. They were also out of fries, so he had to get fruit instead, which was kind of disappointing. Overall, the food took way too long, the quality didn't match the price, and the experience just didn't live up to the hype at all. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

The atmosphere was really enjoyable -- the space has a great vibe, the drinks were well made, and overall it feels like somewhere that could become a favorite spot downtown. The food was decent as well, though not especially memorable. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the positives. From the moment we walked in, we felt more like an inconvenience than welcomed guests. The host greeted us while remaining seated at the bar and simply told us to "sit anywhere," which immediately set an odd tone. When I asked for paper menus, I was told they only use QR codes. Normally that wouldn't be a huge issue, but the menu was around 15 pages long with tiny font, making it frustrating to navigate on a phone. Once our food arrived, we essentially never saw our server again. No check-ins, no refill offers, no asking if we wanted another round of drinks -- nothing. Meanwhile, staff members were gathered at the bar loudly talking among themselves and openly complaining about being there, which was uncomfortable to listen to as customers trying to enjoy a night out. Eventually, we had to walk up to the front bar ourselves just to pay our bill. That was the most disappointing part because the restaurant truly has the foundation to be excellent. The ambiance and drinks are already there, but hospitality matters just as much as the food. A little attentiveness and genuine customer service would have completely changed the experience. We absolutely would have ordered more drinks and likely stayed longer if anyone had checked on us. Hopefully management takes service more seriously, because this place could be great with the right staff culture and attention to guests.
