I brought my necklace in that I had bought in Greece for just a simple link repair. What I received back was the eye of the necklace completely destroyed as well as the link now somehow shorter??? More issues than when I brought it in. On top of that they tried to pass it off on me the first time and I refused to take it until it was fixed. So on the second day (after receiving no call to pick it up...) they present me with it still destroyed and somehow worse. They asked if they could keep it again and I said no way in hell. These guys are great. I was originally going to go somewhere else with more reviews. I stopped by here on the way to farmers market from the post office. I had a bracelet that was made with very thin silver. It snapped while going into a rather tight pants pocket. These guys fixed it beautifully, and the price was right. They let me use a screwdriver to tighten my watch links. I then noticed that something was inside the watch shaking. The day I picked up my bracelet I asked about fixing the watch. I had a locket that would no longer close. I came in on a Monday afternoon with two other customers in the shop. I waited less than 2 minutes after walking in before being seen. Juan (the owner I'm assuming) was attentive when I described how it wasn't closing. He went into the back of his shop and within minutes the locket was fixed. Hate writing this review.. I've been coming here for years for smaller jobs. Recently discovered a loose stone in my ring and brought it here for them to fix. I got back a ring that looked different than when I went in... when I got the ring back I tried to explain that they had changed the design and they denied it. Today I went in with a photo of what the ring used to look like compared to how it is now and despite having photographic evidence of the change they still argued with me.. I was not there to argue but rather to have my ring changed back to how it used to look. The guy said he would "chop off the extra gold" but that it would be less sturdy.. which did not seem like the right attitude. They made it lopsided and crooked. My ring was pretty sturdy for the 7 years that I've had it and their approach was all wrong. Realizing they were not willing to even be open to their mistake I just asked for my ring back. I didn't want it to be messed up further. At that point the guys asked me how much I paid for their service, I said $60 and he quickly just gave me money stating that his service is guaranteed. So, yeah I got my money back but now I have a ring that i have to take elsewhere. I hope they can fix their attitude.. the worst encounter I've ever had with them. read more

My Dad went to get his chain fixed because it was broken in the middle of the chain. On the locket it said 14 k gold and said Italy on the back. Meaning it was made in Italy with fine workmanship. When my dad went to pick it up it looked fix where it was broken and he was on his way to catch his bus. When he got back home he realized the locket was switched out. It no longer said Italy. It was not his original locket. The jeweler replaced it with a dummy locket. My Dad never went to confront the jeweler because he felt it they would deny it and he cannot prove it. I'd be very careful going to this jeweler and that they don't switch out your stuff. I don't typically do negative reviews but I don't want this happening to good people either. Hopefully this jeweler stops taking advantage of people. read more

I had a pile of watches that needed new batteries and one with a broken strap. The person who helped me was really helpful and friendly. In ten minutes, the batteries were all replaced. The watch strap was for a swatch that takes a particular band; he said he could cut one to fit, but it would be better if I ordered one that worked and brought it in for him to replace. I appreciated his honesty and came home and ordered a band. The batteries were the lowest price I have paid for batteries, and all of the watches work perfectly now. read more

I had several pieces of jewelry that were long overdue for repair. We're talking over 30 years. I went to Elmer's to see if they could do the repairs and after they reviewed each piece, they were willing to do so for a very affordable price. I was a bit reluctant to leave my jewelry because I wasn't given a receipt. My jewelry had more sentimental value than anything so I was quite apprehensive. They said it would be ready the next day. When I came to pick up my jewelry, not only were they repaired perfectly, but they also cleaned them to perfection! The gold was polished as clean as the first day I got them! What was even more amazing, was one piece wasn't quite ready, but I was allowed to take the other four pieces he fixed without having to pay him. He said I could pay when I picked up the last piece. How awesome is that? You can't get anymore honest or trustworthy. And here I was worried that I didn't get a receipt?! I ended up bringing in two more pieces of jewelry he fixed within 10 minutes! STAY AWAY!! If you value anything about your jewelry and expect a level of integrity, stay as far away from this place as possible. I just want to say that my first experience with Elmer's was that this place was great. We took my engagement ring and had it sized down; they called within 30 minutes and charged us $20. It was a perfect fit and wonderful experience. Sadly, I made a huge mistake by returning to repair some items I'd been holding onto for a while that needed attention. I took two stretch bracelets to be restrung - one had snapped and the other was so stretched out it no longer stayed on my wrist. I also had some green peridot stones which had fallen out of their earring holders years before that I wanted to have set in white gold. I dropped my jewelry off, but unfortunately it wasn't ready before my husband and I were set to relocate, so I had my mom pick it up for me. When I finally reunited with my items, I was shocked at what I found. The two stretch bracelets barely fit, and the earrings were set into white gold backings that would only fit a baby. Both of the bracelets hold sentimental value as they were gifts from relatives and cannot be replaced. To my surprise my rhinestone bracelet barely went over my wrist, though it once fit beautifully. I also noticed something odd. The bracelet which consisted of an "XOXO" rhinestone sequence now appeared to have two x's touching. I couldn't believe that a jeweler would return jewelry with missing pieces so I chalked it up to a faulty memory. But now, 2 years later I finally found this bracelet in a different color and I confirmed two things: the bracelet comes with 18 pieces, not 17, and the XOXO sequence continues without 2 of the same letter touching itself. I bet someone that one of those 'O's would make a pretty pendant on its own, huh? I don't have many regrets in life but taking my jewelry to Elmer's for repair that fateful day was a decision I will likely regret for the rest of my life. I can't look at these pieces without remembering what happened. I can't even wear them !!! My mom was kind enough to take my earrings to her jeweler, Jack in the Eagle Rock Plaza and no thanks to Elmers, I absolutely adore my peridot white gold earrings. I read Lori's post below and it sounds like they stole her father's Italian locket. Who the f does that?! Unless you wanna pawn your wedding rings because it looks like they have a ton of those, turn around before you enter this establishment. And honestly they probably screw people there too giving them some fake @$$ ring in exchange for cash money. Biggest mistake of my life coming here !! Don't make the same mistake !! Run !! read more
