Trees Atlanta after planting 26 beautiful trees in this neighborhood.

I went here the Saturday just after Christmas with a large group of tree huggers planting trees close to L5P. We arrived right at opening time and surely caught this place off guard. We took over an entire room and the waitress made a very generous exception to the no separate checks rule. Each order went to a separate page to make it full proof for food orders except it didn't. When the food started dripping out of the kitchen, some of the orders were wrong and it took a while to get the food to the right person. Again, we hit them hard and early so waiting almost an hour for food was a small price to pay. I ordered the Miga with chorizo and it was pretty good. Everyone else seemed happy with their food. With so many great Mexican places in town (especially Nuevo Laredo) I wouldn't make a special trip here for food but the next time we try to enhance L5 with free trees, Elmyr will be on my list.

Came around 10:45pm on a Friday night. Small crowd with loud fun music. Tons of seating space if you don't want to be part of the tiny party. It felt like being in a 80's misfit vibe movie. Food was more like 3/5. Not great Mexican food but will get the job done if you are a little drunk, hung over, or about to drink lol I personally would only come back if I can't find food at 11pm but this place would be 5/5 stars for someone else lol Loved the Halloween decorations. Tons of street parking outside.

My friends and I decided to check out Elmyr the last time we were in L5P for a Friday night dinner! L5P is pretty easy to find residential street parking, but we also realized later there's also parking behind the building! Seating is "seat yourself" and it was busy, but we were able to find a table quickly, which on a Friday night is HUGE! Much appreciated. Service is a little slow and the restaurant is a little divey, but honestly it fits the vibes of L5P and for a casual Friday night dinner with friends, it's kind of the perfect place. We ordered a couple of house margs and those absolutely get you your money's worth! We also ordered a triple drip combo (salsa, queso, guac) and chips and they were pretty average. The salsa was watery, the queso tasted like ballpark nachos, but the guac was pretty solid. Entrees, we ordered chilaquiles, shrimp quesadilla, and the pad thai burrito. The chilaquiles were missing tortillas or tortilla chips on the bottom, the shrimp quesadilla was simple but solid, and the pad thai burrito was surprisingly delicious, really interesting concept and flavors! Overall, not the best Mexican food I've had, but really reasonable prices, great drinks, and great vibes. Not a bad pick if you're in L5P!

We decided to finally come here after it being in our list for so long. There is some parking behind the building but we street parked which was easy enough. When you walk in, it is seat yourself so we found a table quickly. Service was slow but not terrible. We ordered some drinks and the chips for the table. The guac was the most amazing part of the trio! Delicious! The salsa was slightly watery and the queso was a little kid but overall just fine! For my main, I got the shrimp quesadilla which was giant and juicy! Was the food the most amazing thing on the planet? No but to me it gets a 4 because everything was well priced for some decent Mexican food and was fine! I've had better but I've also had better at ridiculous price points. Good for what it offers and not crazy expensive! And the margarita was strong so you definitely get your money worth there!

My friend and I dropped by here for lunch after exploring L5P. We didn't realize the Tex-Mex restaurant is more of a dive bar. Space is tight, but I loved the vibe! The atmosphere was so much fun, and service was quick. I ordered the Fajita Burrito and it was delicious. I'm glad we discovered this place. I'll be back!

July 2023 THIS IS A DIVE BAR ! Came here for a snack and drink after work in the Kirkwood area. Service: 5/5 The bartender/server was helpful and worked the entire room with ease. Prices: 10/10 We enjoyed several drinks with the food and our tab was still quite affordable. Prices are super. Ambiance: 4/5 I was a bit taken back by the smell and look up this place upon entry. I'll admit that I almost left, but my colleague convinced me to stay. I'm so happy that she did. Taste/Textures: 5/5 The food was absolutely delicious. I had the fajita burrito, it was cooked perfectly, and had the right amount of fillings and cheese sauce. I added broccoli as well inside of the burrito. The food was absolutely delicious. Value: 5/5 Bottom Line : 5/5 I highly recommend this bar, the crowd was definitely rocker type, and there was no music really playing so the air was full of conversations; including ours . Interestingly enough, a lot of people showed each other their tattoos, which was quite entertaining as well. Julio 2023 ¡ESTE ES UN BAR DE BUCEO!

This was a well wrapped burrito that got torn into and enjoyed throughly (as you can see). Still going!

Wednesday night dinner with some friends and enjoyed the bartenders Sam and Louis hospitality. Very opening, genuinely nice, and respectful gentlemen. The timing of the food and drinks when placed were very appropriate of about 5-10 mins if faster. Very detailed and well delivered. If you love spicy like myself, try the hot sauces in a bottle. Definitely enjoyed my time and atmosphere! Highly recommend. Everyone who even delivered the food to the bar was amazing and attentive with respect.

The atmosphere is fun and I'm sure it's a great place for some drinks. The food left a lot to be desired though. The food was terribly bland and unexciting. I had nachos which you'd think would be impossible to screw up but they were about as exciting as Tostitos with some cheese melted over them. Im giving 3 stars because staff was wonderful and it was a cool little spot to hangout.

Ordered 10 wings: half buffalo-lemon pepper/half lemon pepper, 5 wings in Korean-buffalo with a side of chili cheese fries, and 2 Coors Banquets (cuz we're classy like that. Food came out probably 15 min after and I was ready to dig in. These wings were pretty hyped and with anything popular, I'm always worried I'm going to be disappointed. But OMG these wings are worthy of their hype. The flavor of their sauces is incredible and they hit that desired balance of crispy and juicy. The meat falls off the bone. Tell you what, I'll definitely be back. I've also heard great things about their karaoke nights so that's going on my list as well

The wings were all well seasoned, and even the dry rub wings didn't taste dry. It tasted tender and juicy and I've never experienced that before with dry rub wings. We ordered the lemon pepper buffalo wings, buffalo wings, and Korean bbq buffalo wings and a side of fries. Our favorite was the buffalo wings. It had the right balance of juiciness and flavor. I wouldn't recommend the Korean bbq wings since it didn't have enough tangyness to it and didn't stand out. The French fries are a must order. The fries were so crunchy, and they were still crunchy even towards the end when we were almost finished eating. We arrived 30 minutes before they opened on a Friday and there were already people waiting in the lot which was crazy! It started raining while we were waiting in line and the line got even longer. If you're planning to try The Local, I would recommend coming on a regular weekday or come earlier if you're coming on the weekend because the line is crazy. There is some seating inside and outside the bar. We got there early enough to swipe a table. There were people standing and waiting for a table while waiting for their orders. Service was excellent! Tables are first come first serve. Plenty of parking in the back parking lot. I wouldn't wait in the rain for this but it was definitely worth a try!

The bartender named Jack was sweet and entertaining considering it was a slow night. He flirted a lot with my friend and it was a silly moment. We went back to enjoy a night out again before heading home the next day and Jack was there again. Because my friend had had such a good time chatting with him before she flirted back a little bit and was just enjoying the night. We ordered food and drinks and things were going well. Throughout the night Jack and my friend would sneak off and talk and make out while he was on the clock. None of this mattered to me because who cares, it's a bar, we're young and just having a bit of fun. However after we left the bar he texted my friend that it was "messed up" we only tipped 15% on our $193 bill claiming he "took care of so much" for us. I'm not even sure what that means because again - our bill for that night was almost $200. The food was amazing - I need the salsa recipe STAT - but overall the bartender ended up being kind of a jerk that seemed like he was just doing all this to get laid. Earlier this week (mind you it's July) I went back to give this place a second chance and the bartender mentioned before - JACK - was asked by one of my friends if we could get green tea shots and he felt it appropriate to confront me about this review. I apologized if my math was wrong because he claimed i only tipped 13% & not 15% was constantly saying "20% is standard" (not true but whatever) and then when i said he claimed to take care of so much HE claimed the bill should've been $250 and then said "but i understand your white entitlement lets you think you can do whatever" (idk i blacked out with rage after "white entitlement") MIND YOU you i'm half chinese not that it matters, jack - cause i know you're reading this - & i of course got heated because HES ALSO WHITE so clearly HIS white entitlement lets him think he can be hateful to patrons for reviews regardless of wether or not they try to take ownership of their faults. Needless to say the staff here is awful and I will NEVER come back to this bar so enjoy that win, Jack.
