Tried this place one time and never would again. Honestly to me for the food the price wasn't that great at all. I'm a big fan of Mexican food and this place doesn't even amount to others that give more for the same price. My wife had a soup here and it was very salty. I had one taco which was kinda small to me which wasn't even great. In this area seems like Mexican food are plenty so I would cross this place off my list to visit again. I too don't understand all the positive reviews of this place. Recently moved to the area and saw this place while going to Krogers. I figured I would bring the wife to try it out. I ordered enchiladas with the white sauce and my wife ordered a tortilla soup. The soup tasted like it came out of a can. Rice a Roni makes a better mexican style rice and the beans also tasted like they came out of a can. The sauce was tasty and the enchiladas were ok. We ordered a margarita which was good but expensive for the size. The staff was friendly but it seemed that there were too many hanging around shooting the breeze with each other but hey, I'm not paying them. This place is no better than Taco Bell. read more

We eat Elote often - probably take out and delivery mostly. Whole family (adult children) loves it so is our go to for impromptu dinners. Always good and if something isn't right they fix it. I don't write many reviews. I had dinner last night at Elote', and it was amazing. This was actually the 2nd weekend in a row. The best guacamole in town, hands down. I found the food very good as well as the service. We've had the chicken, beef tacos, burritos, chips/quac, salsa and found all very good. Didn't mind we had to pick up our food. WoW! My family went to Elote tonight for dinner for the first time and it was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Right off the bat, as we entered we were greeted by the owner, who also with his wife owns Oliva across the street that is a FABULOUS Italian restaurant!!!! He asked us if we had been there before and had any questions. I had the menu I printed in my hand, but the menu in the restaurant had a few more things on it. There were 4 of us, and everything we had was delicious!!! I had a frozen margarita, Hubby had on the rocks. Both were great. We ordered the chips and guac which was YUMMY and there were LOTS and LOTS of chips in the basket... Not sure what the other lady was complaining about when she said there werent enough chips! Hubby also ordered the black bean dip which also came with another basket FULL of chips, and the bean dip was just as YUMMY! I had to order the Elote since that is what they are named, and even though it wasn't bad, it was probably the ONLY thing I could do without next time! Very different and interesting, but I am a plain and simple butter and salt on my corn on the cob kind of girl. I ordered the taco plate with grilled shrimp on a corn tortilla and a ground beef taco on a hard shell. Both were good, but THE SHRIMP TACO WAS TO DIE FOR!!! The lime and Cilantro rice was also a nice surprise! Hubby had the vegetable taco and fish taco and said both were awesome. DD had chicken soft tacos and DS had beef tacos, and they both gave it a thumbs UP! If I had to give a suggestion, there are only 2... They should serve salsa with anything that comes with chips! They had bottle hot sauce and its just not the same and it was HOT! Also, I think the margarita glasses need to be a bit bigger, like 1 1/2-2 sizes larger. But that's just my 2 cents! What can I say, I love a good margarita!!! The service was friendly and the girl at the window knew what we ordered so she brought it to us! Normally they will call your number and she hands it to you or helps you to your table! There was another young lady who also went around seeing if anyone needed another drink, and hubby got a 2nd margarita since they were so good! You can keep an open tab there too! Overpriced. Service was ok and staff was friendly. Food had no flavor and was marginal at best. It's the only sort of Mexican restaurant in the area so no competition. Your better off going to a fast food place like Taco Bell. You'll get better value and better tasting food. This was better than I expected. It reminds me of Fuzzy Taco with a better seating arrangement. The Mahi Mahi fish tacos were great and my wife loved the Chicken Enchiladas. We tried Elote the first week they were open and I would have given half a star. Tried again about a year ago and was still underwhelmed. Gave it one more shot (we live about half a mile from the restaurant) and I'm glad we did! Fantastic brisket burrito and tacos. Great sides and fairly priced. The queso was very standard but tasty. Only real complaint is the abundance of Bay leaves in the beans. But picking around landmines is a small annoyance to get actually home made beans! We will be back again for sure! read more

Elote is my go to place for margaritas, peach is my favorite. Recently I had friends cancel on me for a small birthday party in my home. In a pinch I needed food. I called Elote on Friday at 5, placed a catering order and 24 hours they delivered big time! I ordered a taco bar with all the fixins, they provided 4 types of salsa, Guac, rice and beans, peppers, shredded chicken and shredded beef and much more. We love Elote and eat there at least once a week. It does have a similar set up as Fuzzy's as other's have said, but that's where the similarities end. I was a die-hard Fuzzy's fan before Elote, but this place is so much better! My kids love this place - neither of them would even eat the food we ordered at Fuzzy's the last time we went, but they'll clean their plates at Elote every time! The food is always fresh and tastes great. They even make their refried beans in house! Yum! Don't forget to use their Elote salt on the tables. It is absolutely fabulous! This place is also more authentic than most Mexican restaurants in the area, so you will not get the processed cheese sauce on your nachos, etc. that you get at some of the other places. This is not a bad thing at all :) Love that you can also hang out and watch a game while you eat. They have the TVs where you can see them from just about any table and that's definitely something the guys in my family love! The service has always been wonderful without much wait for your order. Management is great and the owner is usually there, too. You will always leave knowing that they care about you as a customer, which goes a long way for me. read more

We eat at Elote at least once a week. We love it. I usually have the chicken enchiladas and have had the Ranchero sauce and the Mole sauce, but have tried many other items. My daughter loves the rice and bean and cheese plate. We tried the breakfast this weekend and loved it even more! My husband and I both had Migas, which was delicious. We haven't had anything there yet that wasn't good! I also like that the owner walks around and talks to you to make sure everything is ok. read more

The owners were so nice to work with, their staff were friendly and accommodating, the food was beautifully plated and delicious, and they went above and beyond to make sure all our guests had everything they needed. Went here for lunch for the first time yesterday. It was not a good experience. I ordered at the counter two carnitas tacos on hard shells because they do not make their own tortillas. When the tacos came the meat was barbacoa. The meat was very dry even with the sauce. Another woman apparently also got the wrong meat but I did not want to risk sending it back. On a positive note the charro beans were supervisingly good. They did not look like usual charro beans but they were very tasty. read more

Came for a lunch date with the girlfriend. You order as you walk in and then have a seat with a number and they bring you your food..... supposedly. Or at least that's the perception given to me by staff delivering food to everyone else. But after the third call of our number I just went up and got it. It's a shame really, I was tempted to give four stars for this review but it was just that missed opportunity that prevents it. We both got the pork tacos and they were good. I got mine with the pineapple salsa and it gave a pretty solid flavor profile between the sweet of the pineapple and savory of the spices. I really enjoyed the tacos so it's a shame. The knockout of the meal though was the borracho beans, all around great showing. Truly delicious. We also ordered the Elote Especial which can be on or off the cob. We got ours off to make it easier to share. It was good but I've had better. Decent spot with good food, just missing on a few cylinders to raise it to the next level though. read more

I have to wonder what people are thinking when they take a nice restaurant idea and make it so unpleasant, This restaurant amazes me with the number of bad choices. First impressions are important we know and right off, the menu looked like and elementary school class made it and printed it on a home computer printer. Next was a board announcing what they didn't have and it was a big part of the menu. They told us that we would have to pick up our own food at the window, but a woman met us half way there and just put a plate in our hands. It was only part of the order and we didn't know what to do then. To get utensils you have to go get them and they are so cheap that I was literally unable to use them to eat with. For only a few more cents they could have gotten good quality plastic ware. The napkins are also the cheapest possible. Unfortunately this place has followed the recent trend of making everything hard surfaced and so the noise level was high. As for the food: I probably won't go back. My burrito was supposed to have chicken and I only found a little bit in one end. It really was just a rice burrito and not favorful at all. Very bland. For this price anywhere in town i could get a really tasty dish much better. Also, they cut the burrito in half and stacked the ends . What are they thinking? The item now gets cold and you no longer have the option of picking it up, Other items were tasteless and ordinary. The prices are for better quality than you get and the serving practice is bizarre. read more
