For starters... I ate at Elote 4 times in 11 days because it is just that good! The braised beef-- delicious. The pulled pork--delicious. The Veggie tacos-GREAT healthy option! I would put their chipotle sauce on just about ANYTHING because it is so good! (and I HAVE asked for a couple small containers of that sauce to-go!) The staff is charming, very smiley and friendly. And the prices cannot be beat. Honestly, just about every entree on the menu is $6.99. If you visit this far north area in Fort Worth it is worth a stop, especially since it is conveniently located in the Kroger shopping center. Eat, then shop! Lastly-- not related to the food or atmosphere, but the character of the owner, Justin--- he is so nice and caring that he helped me by looking at my car AND getting it started after the Auto Zone employee determined I was just going to need a tow truck! Further noteworthy is that he insisted on helping me at the same time that he was experiencing a little issue at the restaurant that was going to have him open a little later than he was supposed to. We eat dinner here about once every other week....pretty good, usually get the trio sampler and nacho mama...I would give a 6.5 out of ten....breakast, we have had twice, both times breakfast burrito for me, huevoes ranchero for my wife.....the potatoes tasted old like re-heated from previous evening or something....skip the breakfast-go somewhere that specializes in breakfast. Try the dinner, it's pretty good-but there are better mexican places out there....one thing I like maybe the most is that they have Shannon beer on tap! read more

I was so please to discover this place. The food is delicious and fresh. I am hooked on their salad, with their avocado caesar dressing! Several vegetarian and gluten free options. The only drawback for me is that it can be very loud when it is busy. Don't know if they can even help that, but it does bother me. Elote is delicious! Their margaritas are great, I love their shredded chicken and my husband really likes their nachos. The owners also own a wonderful Italian restaurant nearby, Oliva's, which is amazing. Elote is quick, fresh, and laid back but always good food! read more

This place is located within a small shopping center on the corner. We walked in wanting their "special" for families and a sampler. We made sure we asked about how we could split the 10 tacos. After asking for our meats, they said they could split it no problem. We also asked for a pitcher of margaritas. After sitting down at our table and getting our own seats, they tell us they packaged the meal to go... and that we didn't order the sampler. That's fine, we pay for the sampler afterwards. Then, they bring our tacos and our meats were wrong. Apparently they charge extra for the fajita meat... ok, then why would you not tell me that when ordering. Plus, that's fine, we would pay the extra fee. Instead they tell us that they can't do anything since we ate the other tacos. My daughter was playing with a napkin, and they complained about her "making a mess". I regret paying for the tip ahead of time. First of all, we ordered a pitcher of margarita, why would this be a to-go order... second, admit your mistake, and bring us the food we asked for. Third, it's not like we don't have any options around here... there are dozens of Mexican restaurants around here. We just want a good experience, but we get blamed for taking the order wrong. For those who wrote a bad review about Elote, You have bad taste and it is a guarantee that you do not know what class act service and food are. I have been to this establishment to eat twice and love the food and service! It is hip and has wonderfully priced food. Cynthia and Justin who own the place are great and have a large amount of restaurant experience. I enjoy seeing them as well as the atmosphere! The salsa is amazing and so are the refried beans! We have eaten there twice. The first time was very bad. I didn't know you could mess up a brisket taco but they did. There was no flavor!! The second time we had nachos which were ok and a burrito which was still just ok. I don't think I'll waste my time or money there again. read more

Breakfast was amazing!!! The black beans and homemade chorizo were out of this world. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful.

My wife and I were in town for a soccer tournament at the high school. We just happened to come across Elote while looking for breakfast. I could not have been more surprised at the wonderful meal that we had. My wife had the huevos rancheros were served in the traditional way of the eggs and ranchero sauce served on the tortilla. I had the migas which were also cooked perfectly. We were able to try the homemade chorizo (yes - made in the restaurant). Definitely some of the best chorizo i've ever had. The black beans are so smooth that they are almost pureed. Strongly recommend Elote and hope that we play here again next year. read more

The burritos here are absolutely amazing. You get about 3 times as much meat here as you would at Chipotle and the flavor of the meat is tastier. The staff is always nice and you don't have to wait long to get your food. read more

I love the chips and quest and the burrito is great no matter what you put on it. My favorite part of my trip to elote was the humor of the name of the children's quesadilla (which is great by the way!) I love how it's called kids-a-dilla. We'd heard about this new Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood and decided to check it out ... We were impressed at the cleanliness and the friendly staff as we looked through the menu to pick our lunch. The person who took our order was super helpful and patient as we asked several questions about our selections. I had a chicken burrito which cilantro rice and beans on the inside. It was a large portion! The flavor was very good and it was served hot to our table. My wife had the taco plate which she thought was really good. We also had queso and chips, too and the queso was robust in flavor and wasn't the runny kind. The chips were fresh and crisp. They had a nice selection of kids' plate choices, too, for our three-year-old.. It really made us feel special when the manager came by our table to check on us and brought us some salsa which I had forgotten to get at the counter. She didn't just to the drive by 'is everything OK?' and walk off. She actually took the time to listen to our comments and make note of what we said. For a restaurant that is just a month old and has had to work out kinks on the fly, they seem to have their act together and the food was really, really good for the price. We went here for the first time on Super Bowl Sunday. I was shocked it wasn't full because the food was wonderful, portions were big and they are definitely set up to comfortably watch sports. We ordered the Pequeno (small) size of the Nacho Mama. It was huge and loaded with goodness. If we knew it was that big we would not have order so much for our main course, or even a main course. I ate too many of the jalapenos, but it was so good. They also have a great beer selection with lots of good choices on tap. What Texan can resist Shiner on tap? I had a special that came with a taco, enchilada and taquitoes, or rolled tacos. Some people test a Mexican restaurant by their bean and cheese burritos. I test by the cheese enchiladas. This one was very flavorful and generous with the cheese. The pork taco was delicious too, lots of filling. The only average item were the taquitoes. Not bad, just average to me. The beans and rice were also flavorful and fresh. We went later in the evening when they might have been sitting around for hours in many restaurants. If they had been here, they didn't taste like it. We will definitely be back, much more to try on the menu. read more

My husband and I started coming here since it opened. In the past, we have been a huge fan of their taco solos and the elote especial. Some people think they're a little overpriced, but the ingredients seem pretty high quality and they're not overly greasy, so I think they're priced pretty well for what you get. Unfortunately, in the past few months, it seems as though some things have started to fall off a bit. The last two times we had the elote especial, the corn was undercooked and a little flavorless. They also seemed to have changed their queso, and I'm not digging the new version. I don't mind them charging for chips and salsa. It's delicious and why should they give it away for free? I've also started getting their brunch on the weekends and their huevos rancheros are AMAZING!! They're coffee is WAAAAY overpriced though. $2 for a cup of coffee?!?! That's ridiculous. Overall, the food seems pretty healthy as far as Mexican food goes and I don't mind paying a wee bit more to have tacos that aren't drowning in grease. Four months ago I would have given them 5 stars, but the overpriced coffee, new queso and recent foulups with the elote specials just won't permit that today. Also, most of their staff seems to be teenagers and some of them don't seem to really understand good customer service when the owner/manager isn't around. It's not always, but sometimes I have to repeat my simple order a few times because they can't handle a full description all at once. It's like they can't process my order if I answer the questions they normally ask before they ask them. It throws them off sometimes. I've also stood at the counter staring at two of them while they finished a personal conversation instead of pausing to say hello to me and take my order. Sometimes it also seems like they have too many people there. I'm not really sure how they're system is supposed to work. In some ways, it seems a lot like Fuzzy's Tacos. You order your food at the register and then your number is called and you can either go and pick up your food from the kitchen window or sometimes the teenagers bring it to you. It's not consistent and doesn't really make sense. Sometimes the teenagers come around and ask if you need a refill or something, but you can also just go get it yourself. I also don't know if I'm supposed to tip somebody. I know my review probably doesn't sound too great, but as far as restaurants go, this place is really good. I'm just a little worried that it is starting to head downhill which really bums me out because I was super excited about them when they first opened. read more
