I stopped by this Wednesday and was absolutely thrilled with my experience! The Greek Salad was amazing, and the Greek Chicken was just as delicious. I love the ambiance at Elsa's Kitchen--it's warm, welcoming, and a great place to enjoy a meal. I noticed they had a lot of to-go orders, which says a lot about how popular they are. Gabriela is incredibly kind and makes sure every guest is well taken care of. The cook clearly takes pride in his food, and it shows in every dish. I'm a sure I am a frequent flyer of else's and traditionally always love their food. As of late, I've been somewhat disappointed. As an example, I ordered a egg burrito with hashbrowns and sausage to my disappointment. The sausage was burnt to a crisp. Small shop in a little strip mall. Around 6 tables to dine in. The gyros special came with awesome fries and a soda. The gyros had plenty of meat with fresh tomatoes and onions. Tzatziki sauce came on the side and was delicious. Try it you'll like it. read more

I stay door dashing the Greek chicken salad to work at least once a week. It always hits the spot. It's yummy and nutritious. Some days it's extra good. Tried to pull up one time and I was super confused on whether it was open or not? But it keeps getting delivered so the door dash drivers find it. read more

This little neighborhood hole-in-the-wall eatery is great! We did take out in the middle of the day on a Tuesday and while it was not crowded, there was a steady stream of people coming in for takeout. We got a great deal on a half pound burger, fries and a soda. It was loaded with deliciousness on a great tasting bun, & I opted to add melted cheese and that went well with the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. The fries were nice and hot and crispy & enough to share! My hubby got the pastrami burger and he said it was delicious! We'll be back! read more

Just had a great meal delivered via DoorDash. I ordered the kabob combo - beef and chicken. The beef was super tender. Generous portion. Loved the flavor of the tzatziki. Really enjoyed it. Definitely the best DoorDash I've had. Travelled well! Probably even more delicious in person. Will absolutely be ordering from them again. read more

People... this spot has the BEST Gyro sandwich/pita I have EVER had! GREAT FLAVOR and they give you lots of meat! They delivered my food nice n hot, the onion rings are nicely salted as well. The Greek w chicken salad is also very nice! This is my go to spot from now on! read more

Had a craving for a gyro sandwich, and believe it or not, I was cruising down El Cajon Blvd., when I saw a sign that said Greek and American Food. No kidding, I was flying off the seats of my pants. when I made a quick right and stopped here. When all the the dust had settled, I ordered a the gyro combo with fries and a drink for $6.45 The gyro sandwich tasted great and as you can see it came well stacked with gyro meat. This is a great place to eat Greek if you live/work close by! Friendly Staff, Clean & Always FRESH!! Been eating here since 2002... never disappointed! One time we had a large order and they forgot a small side of fried zucchini and fixed the problem by giving us a large zucchini next time we came in:) The Greek Salad is delicious if your going the healthy route otherwise try the Gyro or Gyro Plate... Elsa's kitchen is a nice little find! They have a very good Gyro sandwich and the frenchfries are super yummy and delicious. I could eat their frenchfries all day!!! The falafel and spanikopita ( I probably misspelled that ) are just ok. I've also tried the gyro salad which was pretty good. Overall really decent food and portions for the money. I wish they offered garlic sauce as an alternative to the tziki sauce thus the 4 out of 5 stars. read more

Gross. What they consider a gyro plate is actually a pile of meat and minute rice with some reheated pita bread from Walmart. How can this place have 4 stars?? The only reason I gave it two stars is because the Postmates delivery was fast. Which doesn't even really have to do with the restaurant. read more

I went to Elsa's Kitchen to pick up this really good dish which is the Gyros kebab combo. It came with naan ,really good seasoned rice and a side of Greek salad. Elsa's kitchen has always been a really good place to eat and they are very reasonable with the prices. The staff is very nice and they make really good quality food. The rice was perfectly season and moist. You could literally just eat it alone but I ate mine with the naan. The chicken kebab was cooked to perfection and had a bit of onion on the kebab which added a nice flavor and texture they put a lot of Gyro meat so I got so full just off of the gyro alone. It seems like endless pieces of meat were under each other and there was no end. It also came with the Yogurt sauce which I kind of put on everything, that sauce is amazing. The salad was really good and the dressing which I believe was Italian dressing was really good, also the lettuce was fresh ,all the vegetables were fresh and the feta cheese was really good the only thing I wish they had was pitted olives, because if you are not paying attention you can actually break a tooth by eating the olives but a good rule of thumb is to look at the olives first before you eat it that way you know if it's pitted or not but all in all it was a great dinner. read more

We decided to try Elsa's kitchen after we had seen it next to a Thai place! It did not disappoint! I got my Kids the burger and fries and the small fries are huge! The burgers are pretty big & delicious too!! I got the Philly cheese steak and I couldn't finish the other half! I love when there are left overs to munch one later on when watching a movie! You know how you don't realize how much you miss something until it's gone? That is exactly what I'm feeling after I moved away from the area and my beloved Elsa's Kitchen! I have a job that holds pretty unpredictable hours, so making food at home was a struggle. I could always rely on them for a hot and delicious meal. My go-to would be the gyro sandwich or patty melt sandwich, both of which leave me satisfied in my belly! I would highly recommend supporting this small business, especially during the pandemic. I may have already reviewed this place but I just love it so much. I got the half Greek chicken with fries instead of rice and two tzatziki sauce (to dip the fries) and I am in heaven. The chicken is tender, delicious and flavorful. Their Tzatz sauce has the right amount of garlic. Are used to go to this place all the time when I lived closer I wish I lived close still. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of supervision. Many parents were outside while the kids ran wild inside, and the few adults who were present did not seem interested in correcting the behavior or intervening at all. I understand that servers and bartenders are not babysitters, and I don't expect them to parent other people's children. However, at some point management should have stepped in. This wasn't normal kid behavior or a little extra noise--it was genuine chaos that was impacting other paying customers trying to enjoy their evening. Our tequila expert, Bruce was very efficient and so nice. He helped us with our order. fair warning... don't get the elote, because if you do, it's game over! Our main was the mustard greens and the salmon special. The salmon was prepared perfectly and delicate, the salad super flavorful. Where can you go for dinner have a bottle of wine and keep the bill near $100. I've added it to the circle of trust and will be back next week.

For AYCE, it comes with fries or tater tots, a sauce, 10 wings, and some carrots and celery for your first order. After that, you get 5 wings per refill. The wings were a good size though the skin wasn't really crispy or anything. I tried buffalo, lemon pepper, and flaming honey mustard. Buffalo and lemon pepper are my go to flavors but I didn't really enjoy any of the flavors I tried. There were an overwhelming amount of flavors so it was a bit hard to choose on the spot with AYCE but now I wish I tried some different ones. Our waitress was pretty nice and checked in on us a good amount. Overall, I felt like the food was just okay, and for the value made it less good. My rating is a bit higher because of the service. I might come back to try some other flavors since this is such an iconic San Diego chain.
