I have not been to a new salon or have had anyone but my friend/stylist touch my hair in 30 years! Due to medical reasons my girl is out of commission for a while and since I haven't had my hair cut in over 2 months I was desperate. I live 2 minutes from Elysian Salon and checked them out on Yelp. Saw all the raving reviews about Steph G and took a chance. Im a 62 year old woman with very short and VERY fine hair. Im not the pickiest when it comes to a haircut because it seriously grows back so fast and to be honest I have no upcoming events so i figured what the hell? I hate being the "new girl" ANYWHERE! especially at a salon. Nowadays they're all young stylists with young clients who ALL have long, beautiful hair. so yeah i was a little hesitant and worried they'd think "oh God, here comes an old lady" Steph was SO cool and chill!! we started out a little quiet but once we started talking about our dogs and mutual love of all things goth....all my worries were gone! I loved loved my hair. I am not great a reviews but i loved my outcome. I had a horrible experience and was left with dry damage orangish low lights. I was tired of them and was hesitate to come (it is pricey) but i thought it would be worth it. I booked my appointment with Ale, and i was there on time. Upon arrival i was greeted and taken to my seat where i told her what i wanted (dark hair again). She said that she knew exactly what to do and i trusted her. Throughout the process she was super friendly and we were able to connect. When she showed me the results i was in LOVE! She gave my hair LIFE! Stephanie!!! You are to die for! I can't thank you enough for not only fitting me in last minute, but, taking the entire night to transform my hair. I came in after another hair stylist did a horrific job at not only installing my extensions but also educating me on how to take care of my hair. I appreciated Stephanie's honesty and immense amount of knowledge she has! She does not beat around the bush and wants to have you be happy on your his journey. My best friend recommended me to Stephanie and honestly I can't thank her and Stephanie enough. This was my first time doing extensions so I had no knowledge about anything. Stephanie took the time to teach me the techniques to wash my hair and how to take care of it to prevent damage. She educated me on all of the products I needed to use and said "this is like your skincare routine but for your hair" that phrase just stuck with me. I appreciated so much.
