I'm really looking forward to coming back here to do some work. They have plenty of space if you want a table, a small cozy nook, or a comfy chair. There are also several charging spots near each. The drinks were DELICIOUS! I particularly loved the White Truffle Tiramisu coffee. The coffee base is strong and the topper was sweet and salty, which is exactly how I like it. I've been coming to Em Coffee in EG frequently since it opened, and it's become one of my go-to spots. I usually get the banana toffee latte, and it's always good: sweet, smooth, and a little different from the usual. I enjoy their coffee a lot because it is Vietnamese Coffee. I've also been getting the royal pink lychee tea, which is super refreshing. Especially during that random heat wave last month, it was my go-to drink. Stopped by this coffee spot and picked up a couple of pastries definitely worth it. The bread was soft, fresh, and had that perfect lightly sweet, buttery flavor. The highlight though was the pandan style muffin topped with toasted coconut super fragrant, not overly sweet, and really unique compared to your typical bakery options. First, the owner is really nice. I've been in about 5 times now and he recognizes me and always says hi. The place is spotless and has great seating with lots of plugs. Now to the coffee. The pandan coconut latte with almond milk is really good. Sweet, but not too sweet...strong but not too strong ( and I'm a Peets person). Really good. The salted bread is good. The ham and cheese croissant minus the ham (I'm a vegetarian) was good, not great. Overall, better seating and friendlier treatment than any other EG independent coffee place. read more

I was a bit saddened when I saw The Alley (the former drink business) was gone, but it's nice to have a new coffee/drink place in the area. I'm cutting back a bit on my caffeine intake, so l've yet to try to the coffee, but l've had matcha drinks and an ube drink from Em. Most recently I've tried one drink from their seasonal series, the Matcha Cream Ube Milk. I got it half sweet, which was fine for me. I think I may have liked it slightly sweeter, but they only offer 100%, 50% or 0 sweetness. I could taste both individual flavors and thought it was an overall good drink. The matcha drinks I've had from here previously, the Matcha Einspanner and Strawberry Matcha have been good as well. I wasn't expecting the cream on the einspanner to be so thick, but it was a nice compliment to the flavor of the matcha, especially because I had opted to order my drinks without added sugar. After having their drinks with both no sugar and 50% sugar, I would say definitely keep it at 50% or 100%. Service was fast and friendly. So I first came across this coffee shop for a Yelp Experience & it truly was love at first penny.(Yelp Experience Inside Joke).I hadn't had a lot of experience with Vietnamese coffee or matcha but to say I'm a huge fan of both now is a massive understatement. Funny thing-I live in the Natomas area-so this coffee shop is not close to me,but I've been here 4x since my initial visit. When I took my 23 year old daughter to the shop,she told me that the matcha there was one of the highest quality matcha she has ever had. I spoke to the owner on one of my visits and he told me his process of procuring his awesome matcha.He informed me he actually flies out to Kyoto and goes out to the farms and hand selects the highest quality matcha available and brings em back to his 2 locations,here in Elk Grove and the other in San Diego. I feel like you can really taste the quality in the matcha drinks they serve there. Some of my favorite drinks I've had during my visits. -Banana Toffee Latte-This is my go-to non matcha drink-it's a delicate balance of the strength of the Vietnamese coffee cut with the sweetness of the banana chips and the toffee chips and the frothiness of the oat milk-it's a great drink. -White Truffle Tiramisu Cream-This is such a beautiful treat of a coffee drink-very sweet-it's topped with a biscoff cookie and I like to crumble it and have the added cookie flavor to every drink. -Banana Matcha-This is my favorite Matcha drink that they have here, I was blown away by the perfect dollop of creamy banana pudding that mixed in so nicely with the matcha, creating a perfectly balanced drink. Pro-tip: taste your drink before leaving to make sure if you want it sweeter, that you add condensed milk or sugar syrup that's available at the counter before you head out. Wife wanted Vietnamese coffee so we finally had a reason to get to EM coffee. The coffee comes out not overly sweet, they have a condensed milk squeeze bottle and sugar water squeeze bottle at the straw and napkin table. My wife did not let me put some in before we left, and I sadly found out that it's not extremely sweet by default which is probably a good thing for most people. Very modern hip hang out spot with plenty of bright lighting. Drinks were fairly priced and came out quickly Wife got the banana toffee latte and I got the pandan coconut latte. We came here around 9:30 on a Saturday morning. There were not many people and only 1 person in line. Don't know what was going on but it took a long time for the customer in front of me to finalize her order. But the cashier was being very patient and friendly while assisting the customer. There is only 1 cashier and no ordering kiosk. This was our second time here. The first time, we tried their regular salted bread. The second time, we got the super coconut coffee blast, pandan coconut latter and pandan coconut roll. Salted bread: it was too dense. The flavor was just ok. Super coconut coffee blast: it was creamy from the ice cream. Overall, tasted good but nothing to rave about. Pandan coconut latte: too much cream and not enough coffee. Too much ice so equals less drink. Pandan coconut roll: pretty good. A bit crispy on the outer, inside was a bit fluffy. Felt like it needed more sweetness like condense milk which is offer in their self serve station. The restroom was huge but there was a puddle of water right under the soap dispenser. Also if you need paper towels to dry your hands, they are located next to the door and away from the sink. Because of this, you can see trails of water on the ground. Overall, this is a nice looking coffee shop. The pastries are quite pricey though. There are no prices listed for them on their display case. We were on a coffee tour in Elk Grove (coming from So Cal) and we wanted to get something with matcha. We got the pandan matcha, coconut latte, and a hazelnut latte. The hazelnut was good, but it wasn't the best hazelnut I've ever had. It was on the much stronger side. We recently tried this new spot in Elk Grove, and overall, it was a great experience. The drinks were flavorful and well-made. One thing to note is that when ordering online, the "half ice" option is taken very literally--the cup is filled only halfway with the drink and contains no ice. While I was initially disappointed, the menu does clearly explain this during the ordering process. I ordered the Matcha drink with Matcha ice cream, and the flavor was excellent. The ice cream melted quite quickly, possibly due to the warm weather, but it would have been helpful to know that beforehand. My mom ordered the Banana Coffee and said it was delicious, well-balanced, and not overly sweet. The coffee here is not as strong as what you might find at some other Vietnamese coffee shops, but it was still very enjoyable. I recently came to this adorable coffee shop with some friends and I am so glad to have tried a new (to me) spot. The inside of this shop is beautiful, it's simple and bright, there is a decent amount of table and bar seating, and a very large menu with amazing drinks. My friends and I tried the Tiramisu matcha, Egg brûlée cream coffee, Banana toffee coffee, White truffle tiramisu cream coffee, and a Coconut pastry. The workers were very busy with lots of orders but the service was great. They were nice and helpful, and our drinks came out quickly. The drinks tasted high quality, were strong, looked beautiful, and had great flavors. I loved my white truffle latte and my friend's tiramisu matcha. I drank mine so quickly the ice didn't have a chance to melt. I definitely want to come back and try the other flavors. The price is average/slightly above average from other cafes, but I think this is because of the quality and uniqueness of the drinks. I love the The Em Experience Flight Tasting Set. You can choose any drinks from the menu. For those sensitive to caffeine, you get to try coffee without committing to the full cup (two of their flight cups are their one cup). I would recommend sharing with a friend - it's more than you think. And the coffee/caffeine is STRONG, but you keep on drinking because it's sweet and good (just be careful if you are caffeine sensitive). I tried their salt bread...when I was in Korea in Feb 2026, I ate salt bread everyday. I was charged $5 for 1 bread which tasted good and it bright me back to Korea. However, the salt bread does not have any special ingredient, and the only difference is the name. IMO it was a very expensive piece of bread. I don't think I will get this again from this place. TLDR - it's mid Em has taken over the spot of unsuccessful coffee/tea/boba shops that have been here before. I'm hoping they stay and be successful at this location. It was busy when we got here but the line to order moved quickly and the drinks were coming out fast as well. Inside layout hasn't really changed and can become kind of loud and crowded. We got the pandan coconut latte and the strawberry matcha. The pandan didn't really have the flavor of pandan or coconut and just tasted like bitter coffee where the coffee bean were hit with too hot of a water temp. I was really disappointed in the drink because are there so many places here in Elk Grove that offer something similar that tastes a lot better so I hoped this could be even better. The strawberry matcha tasted a bit watered down as well. The drinks, besides the cold brew, start at $7.25 for a one size 16oz drink so it's a bit steep for us. Recently paid Em Coffee house a visit and I left with hopes that they'll be here to stay! Em translates to many things in Vietnamese. It can either mean younger sibling, or a pet name used typically by a woman to address her significant other. Cute, right? Em is conveniently located across the street from the target shopping center and has chipotle, Jamba Juice, and dollar tree for neighbors. We came around mid afternoon and noticed how busy it was. That is always a good sign! I ordered the pandan matcha and fell in love after my first sip. They did this drink right! It had the perfect amount of matcha and pandan. I will definitely be back! Is it even a new week if a new coffee shop hasn't opened. Less than a week into Em Coffee Houses grand opening in Elk Grove and they are proving to be a new, local hotspot! Former Girl Scout here and their logo immediately reminded me of it Snagged from their website, "In Vietnamese, Em is a term of affection, akin to "sweetheart" or "darling," and EM Coffee House is our love letter to Vietnamese coffee culture." I loved the vibe of the Em in EG, even if it's hidden in the corner of one of the many random shopping plazas in the city. Parking was ample, so that's a bonus too! I ordered the CocoUbe, Viet Phin Milk Coffee with Ube Cream Top with Coconut Flakes...and a surprise Biscoff cookie topper! I asked for this to be made with soy, but this drink isn't one that bodes well to do this. They said there was minimal condensed milk in the coffee, so I tempted (lactose intolerant Gods) fate... It was strong. But I did order half sweet, so that could have been my fault. I liked it, but I would have preferred 75% sweet if that is an option. Since I prefer soy milk, their menu is limiting for me. But I'd love to try more drinks! The more local coffee spots in Elk Grove, the better! read more

Went on soft opening day on the 8th. We got there just before 8am and already there was a huge line. We waited for almost 2 hours till we were finally able to place our order. We ordered the egg brûlée coffee and banana toffee latte. We both enjoyed the banana toffee latte (rating: 4/5) the most and would recommend it! Love the bits of toffee in it. The egg brûlée coffee (rating: 3.5/5) was topped with a biscoff cookie, which we both thought would have been better if it was crushed over top and the egg cream was a bit too thick for my liking. I prefer to sip directly from the cup and it was difficult to do. We saw they had salt bread so had to order one. We got the matcha salt bread, which was soft on the inside and best warmed up. read more

New trendy viet coffee latte spot to replace The Alley. Been eyeing this for months. I'm a big fan of the Viet coffee latte trends recently - I've tried a good amount of them from the Bay to here. Having one in such a convenient location is great. It's a pretty busy plaza so sometime parking can be difficult. We went on a Saturday - saw the line from the door and instantly decide to order online and then went shopping for groceries. I went in after waiting for my order and the line did died down so it wasn't too bad of a wait. However since I don't see my drink in the pick up counter I tried to get the attention of someone but it took a good 2-3 person to acknowledge me. I get that they have a lot of order fulfillment but if someone is trying to flag your attention maybe say hi. Otherwise the final person that did see me was nice and they kept the order online in the fridge so it was fresh. I like that they also have a lot of bakery and yogurt options as well. Down to the drink. Now these are what I would consider kinda pricey but maybe the economy changed and I'm poor but for 2 drinks it was $18 sometime. The matcha itself we got no sweet per my partner request so he finish it in like 4 gulp. My egg brulee was pretty strong. I like that it was not very sweet but the white truffle cream was pretty interesting. It even come with a biscotti cookie. Overall I will likely come back to this spot. Since I still gotta try the pandan coffee and maybe pick up a yogurt next time. read more
