Cute little cafe to stop by. Parking: free street parking Menu: keep changing except regular matcha latte, regular coffee. For example: banana latte or ube latte are seasonal. Service: friendly, decent speed A lot of people working in small space: 4-5 The spot is tiny so only have a few seatings, it is more of pick up and go than hanging out in extended period of time. Matcha drink is good quality and not overly watered down. They also sell accessories and knit knat ornaments next to the cashier.

I personally really like this place! My friend has a vendetta against the coffee because it is made using a home espresso machine, and tastes bitter to her. I'm somewhat picky around about coffee and I actually don't mind it at all - perhaps it's the sweet flavors that mask, but I really like their espresso drinks. I've tried the fruity pebbles and the banana cream iced lattes and I would definitely come back!! Their Matcha is just okay. It looks like they pre-mix it in a pitcher and it definitely tasted watery. Definitely not the worst matcha I've had by any means, but if you've had good Matcha, then maybe this is a place to only try once (or just skip)! It's very small inside, just some bench seating. Parking is not great, it's street parking, but I've always found a spot about a block away (like a one minute walk).

Best matcha I've had in Sacramento. First time I went, the ice machine was broken but it was still so good! They have rotating matcha and coffee flavors.

I'm not sure what took us so long, but we finally made it in to Sun House Cafe. Parking was a bit of a struggle, but well worth it!!!! We didn't have to look at the menu, we went for the Banana Latte and Banana Matcha. The Banana Latte was delicious. The banana Cream on top is the BEST I've ever had! And love the toffee pieces and banana slice on top! Perfect touch! My daughter's Banana Matcha was just as good. The perfect amount of banana. AMAZING! Would love to try the Churro series next but kinda stuck on the banana. Maybe I'll go double fisted next time. 10/10

Great spot for lattes and matcha! I tried the iced chai latte with banana foam (recommended by my daughter) and it was so good! I tried a sip of my daughter's matcha and it was delicious as well - not too sweet with the right amount of bitterness. Will definitely be back.

Two baristas working, which feels like the max for the space. The barista was friendly and soft-spoken. I ordered the iced Churro Latte and Banana Crème Latte. Loved the Churro, well balanced and not overly sweet. My co-worker enjoyed the Banana Crème as well. Both drinks were very aesthetic and I'd come back to try other flavors. Street parking only, park on the street where you can't turn right, you'll have to go around the block. The area has homeless folks, but mornings are quieter. Sun House Cafe is very small with limited seating meant more for waiting than hanging out. 3 stars mainly due to the location and small interior.

I got a Banana matcha and a lemon bar matcha. They were both pretty milky not really tasting matcha or other flavors. It's almost like the matcha could have been stronger and I wish the cream on top was flavorful enough to carry the drink. The banana was more of a hint than the star of the show. The lemony cream top was not as sweet or lemony as it needed to be to really call it a lemon bar matcha. $19 w/ oatmilk and tip

I got the banana cream latte and it was so good! I'm not big on coffee but absolutely loved this. The toffee pieces were a great bonus!

Lemon Cake Matcha was soooooo good! I've been dreaming about it every day since I had. The cookie crumble on top is the perfect touch! Small cafe but they get you your drinks quick!

Ive only been to sun house 3 times-i say only because theyre so good i would come a little too often if they were closer to me ;) my fiance and I have had their banana matcha and hojicha before and both were delicious and great tea quality. On our recent visit, their lines have def gotten more eased up since last time when they were still new-this time we tried their blueberry matcha and the seasonal butter scotch latte. Both were so amazing, but a huge stand out was the latte for being strong and having such a delightful housemate syrup and cream top-sometimes im cautious to get espresso from places more known for their matcha ,but this place nailed it. Service was fast and friendly, vibes were great. Although theres not much seating inside, its a cute little place to hang out, and if you're a matcha snob, this is def the place to go

The drinks here are amazing! I've heard of Sun House Cafe by word-of-mouth and wanted to see what the crazy was about. One time here and they got me SOLD! They are located in Midtown in a busy area. Parking can be a pain due to all the construction and compact area, but luckily we were able to find street parking. Not much of a line when we came and the staff were super nice. Menu was larger than I thought! They have their house lattes, tea, matcha, non-caffeinated, and a seasonal menu. I got the Banana Cream Hojicha and wow was it delicious! The banana cream was made on point and has dried bananas as well. Great banana flavor that complimented the Hojicha tea, which can be nutty. Their matcha drinks are also very good and had great flavor. We also opted to purchase their banana pudding ($7) and it was delicious! They had a few other unique pastries too that I will try next time.

Came on a Wed before thanksgiving! It was relatively empty around 1pm. I've been wanting to try for a while now. I love seasonal menus and wanted to try the peppermint. the cafe itself is really cute and street parking wasn't bad at all. It's nice that you are able to see them prep the drinks. Peppermint Matcha- flavoring wasn't anything special, cream top seemed a bit flat and bland taste, only peppermint was the topping. a bit disappointed. Banana cream top hojicha- better!! but flavor wasn't completely there either. Had better. Overall, maybe i came on an odd day? Maybe one day I will try again.

the ambiance of this cafe is so cute, but it's super small which i guess you can expect for a cafe in downtown. there's not a lot of seating & the line gets long fast on weekends. they don't accept cash so make sure you have your card ready. the space was super stuffy & i don't think the air was working or they just didn't have it on so it felt humid in there. their bathroom space is clean but they didn't have toilet paper or any seat covers either. aside from those few downsides, we got the banana matcha & banana latte which was both reallyyy good. i'd definitely come back again!

I'm thinking to myself, sooo if you KNOW you're of something that's popular and on the menu, maybe you should put a sign somewhere stating that it's currently NOT AVAILABLE. Then I had to call back home to let my siblings know that the initial drink they wanted was not available, so they can choose something else and again the guy taking the order wad annoyed. My siblings decided upon the Mangonada with brown sugar boba and the iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha. Unfortunately, brown sugar boba was not available was all out for the day according to the cashier.. but no sign stating that they were sold out. I had to call my siblings again to let them know and ask if they wanted crystal boba as a replacement. To keep the order going while I was calling them, I asked for a mochi waffle and the guy threw his hands up annoyed and was like do you not want the boba for drink? I told the cashier I'll have the crystal boba instead of the brown sugar since it's currently unavailable, and the guy goes with an attitude... soo do you want the crystal boba? I said yess...yes I do. The Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha was alrightt. It is definitely not all that it is hyped up to be. The drink IMO was just a basic iced matcha with chocolate drizzle on the side of the cup and the pistachio foam that barely tasted like pistachio.

They have a parking lot but it's shared with other businesses and always seems to be full, however there's a good amount of street parking and I found a spot closeby no problem. When I walked in it was a lot bigger than I expected and they had a good amount of seating. There wasn't a line when I arrived, but that quickly changed after I placed my order and I feel like there was a steady stream of customers the whole time I was there. I was welcomed in and when I let them know it was my first time they recommended some items for me. I'm not a matcha fan, so I was more interested in trying their coffee. I ordered their date orange latte ($7), the twice hojicha ($7.50), and their simple avocado toast ($9). I had heard hojicha is a less grassy, more earthy/toasty version of matcha so I was excited to give it a try and see if I liked it more than matcha. Good news! Hojicha, at least the twice hojicha from Offbeat was delicious. I enjoyed the taste of tea and the aftertaste that matcha usually has for me wasn't there. I would 100% order this again. The date orange latte (iced) was also delicious and the flavors were perfect for our warm weather. The simple avocado toast had a thick piece of fresh baked bread with a generous layer of avocado on top. I don't frequently order avocado toast but it paired well with the drinks and is a great meal to start the day. I can see why this is a favorite for so many people and now that I've finally been in, I'll be back for more!

I had never even heard of Temple Coffee Roasters until today…read more I asked ChatGPT where thoughtful, interesting, community-minded people in Sacramento tend to gather -- basically, where one might recruit good humans instead of just collect business cards -- and this was top of the list. Temple is one of those places where the espresso tastes like someone with a chemistry degree and a poet's soul got together and decided the rest of us deserved better mornings. The baristas manage to be both calm and alarmingly competent. You ask one tiny question about beans and suddenly you're getting a TED Talk from a caffeinated forest monk. And the people here actually talk to each other. Not in the fake networking-event way where everyone's secretly scanning for status. More like artists, students, organizers, remote workers, philosophers, exhausted grad students, startup people, and neighborhood regulars all accidentally sharing the same living room. Clean space. Serious coffee. Zero snob energy. Headquarters of the Revolution. Special mention to Sam, who was managing Temple Coffee Roasters when I walked in. You can tell immediately when someone genuinely enjoys helping people, and Sam absolutely does. She told me she loves adjusting drinks to fit exactly what people want instead of treating coffee like some untouchable sacred formula -- stronger, softer, sweeter, whatever makes the person in front of her happy. And she said something deeper still: helping people feel good is actually pretty easy... although sometimes it's hard. That kind of sums service up. Sam has that rare combination of warmth, competence, patience, and calm that quietly changes your mood. All of a sudden you feel like being kinda kinder. The coffee was excellent, but people like Sam are the reason places become part of a city's soul instead of just another café.
