Note: This rating would be lower but Hilton support came through for our group and made the situation right. It took about one month to resolve everything, however. The Embassy Suites by Hilton Parsippany has serious heating/cooling problems and you need to be aware of that before booking here. Came here for an event and left with one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Embassy Suites by Hilton Parsippany is easy to access and has plenty of parking, but you do have to pay for parking. I want to say this before I go further, the hotel staff were not really the problem here, it's the whole property as the building and rooms are out of date. Check-in went badly, as while they did have my reservation, they could not check me in even with downloading the app. Corporate helpdesk even had problems when the employees called about my reservation. Basically, my reservation had to be deleted and remade, and this whole process from start to finish took around an hour, and it was frustrating. The interior of this hotel is iconic. The atrium is full of trees, plants, fountains, and stone walkways. It is very visually appealing, and I cannot stress that enough, with a large amount of natural light coming in from all the windows. This design caused one of the biggest problems of the weekend sadly, as the heating/cooling plant could not keep up with the high temperature's outside. The interior of this hotel was shockingly warm all weekend, and very much affected our event experience. On top of that, the pool was closed for renovations, so you couldn't even go for a swim to cool off. For the rooms, they were suites with a nice amount of square footage. The beds were comfortable, but the whole room looked like it had not been upgraded in roughly a decade based on the wear and tear and what TVs are provided. Room did come with a larger mini-fridge and microwave. Because of the oppressive heat outside, our rooms heating/cooling basically did not work all weekend, making it uncomfortable. The bathroom due to its design and shower curtain could easily flood the floor. Our mini-fridge was dirty on the inside with some sort of spill I cleaned up using disinfectant I brought along. One sink had major calcium deposit that I could not remove. It was also dark in the room unless you opened both the atrium facing and outside facing curtains. Our room was disappointing for the most part due to the heat. The complimentary breakfast was ok, with eggs, sausage, potatoes, various grains, pastries, coffee, juice, soda, and an omelet bar. Event space is somewhat limited depending on your needs, and you might have to be creative with setups. Overall, this hotel was massively disappointing and I cannot recommend staying here at the $150-$200 price point. The iconic look of the atrium is the only reason to stay here and you should otherwise avoid the Embassy Suites by Hilton Parsippany unless absolutely necessary. read more

This hotel is atrocious. We have been here previously, although many years ago, and were generally pleased with our experience. This is far from the case now. The entire facility is worn. Our room was passable, but the bathroom was disgusting. The the tub was corroded at the drain overflow, the drain itself was broken (not that I would ever have bathed in this tub) and the non-slip surface was completely worn away. The air conditioner was either ice cold or off. The pool area is disgusting and the hot tub is closed permanently. We will never, ever patronize any Embassy Suites again. What a terrible hotel. We got free drink vouchers and my wife is watching my sick kid upstairs so she asks me to bring her up a drink and the barman very rude says I'm not allowed two drinks. I show him the adults on my reservation he doesn't care. My room was- for $406/2 nights -absolutely filthy. I spilled a bottle of water in the bedroom carpet. I threw a bath towel down to soak it up and... the towel was FILTHY. All of the soap and other toiletries containers were empty. The run was grubby and not very clean. All things being equal? The place really need a refresh. The 5pm cocktail social was... sad. Small table with gummy bears, M&M's and chips and salsa. Wow. 1 free drink. Breakfast was.... Right about "Hampton" level. Made to order omelettes were the only shining star. This place is not a good place to stay. Yes it is very cheep and inexpensive but it is not a safe environment. Most of the bath tubs are rusty, the thermostat in most the rooms do not work, the rooms are either too cold or extremely hot. Half of the rooms smell like a Dog Kendals. Sometimes the rooms are not properly clean. The air vents are never changed and they blow out dirty air. The pool is nice but everything lease is really bad. I really wish I had the option for 3.5 stars. Let me tell you why. There is a lot to like about this hotel. A lot. The location is fantastic - near the highway and lots of restaurants. Close to offices and businesses nearby. For me, it is close to home and was a little staycation during the holiday season so the kiddos could play in the pool. The atrium is impressive with a lot of water features and lush greenery making you feel like you're in a special space. The rooms are large - bedroom and living room with a bathroom and small kitchen area. This is great for families and groups who need space. The kitchen area is convenient with a fridge and microwave. On the down side the rooms do look and feel a bit stale and could use a bit of a facelift. Fully functional and clean, but they definitely don't scream luxury. The indoor pool is a decent size and is great for kids. With that being said there were times where the pool was packed with kids. And without supervision they can go a bit wild. From Jumping and cannonballs to races the length of the pool. At times it was too crowded and was overwhelming for my 2 year old. They offered complimentary drinks with some snacks at the bar at 5pm along with a free breakfast in the morning. Both very nice. However the restaurant was closed so the only option for food at the hotel was a one page menu at the bar and frankly there are better options in the area (but you already knew that since you're on Yelp ;)). read more

For a Christmas gift, we decided to take the kids to NYC and American Dream Mall. I booked a Hilton brand hotel based upon past experience and brand knowledge. I thought I knew what I was signing up for. Boy was I wrong!! Upon checking in, I was told by the front desk attendant that there was an extra $300 incidental charge added on to the full room charge. When I asked what that was for he told me it was for if we used things in the room. When I asked him to elaborate on what that meant, he could not clarify. I was not sure if this meant a minibar, or anything of the sort, but I would soon discover that the room was far from that elaborate. He did also add that right off the bat $45 would go towards the parking fee of $15 per night. Was very surprised that a hotel was charging for parking. When parking here is overly plenty full. Additionally, I had to be at the front desk for several issues Over the course of that first night, and I heard him tell several different people several different prices for parking. One person was told it was a six dollar charge, one person was told it was a one dollar charge, so I'm not sure how I was saddled with the $15 charge for parking. In the course of those several visits to the front desk, there was one attendant working the front. His name was Jason, and he was by himself. He was doing the best he could with a long line of people. While he was checking us in he was visibly agitated and trying to rush through our transaction. Perhaps this is why he could not explain what the $300 charge was for, because he was too busy trying to get through our transaction to get to the next person. While I was waiting patiently to be helped with one of our many issues, I noticed that somebody popped their head out from the back, looked at the large line of people and popped her head back into the back. When it was my turn to be helped by him, I asked him who that person was, and why they weren't helping him man the desk. He told me that was the manager. When I asked for their name, he reluctantly gave it to me, and it was Aparna Ravi. Once we got to the room, it was a standard suite, double beds, and a couch with a table, a TV in both room areas for the most part the set up was very nice! Upon closer inspection, the room was absolutely filthy. Please see pictures for a better idea. I am not picky when it comes to hotel rooms. As long as the surfaces are clean for the most part, I come prepared with disinfecting wipes and disinfecting spray, and I take care of that stuff myself. I usually check for bedbugs, and that is what I'm mostly concerned with, when we pulled out the couch bed to check where my son would be sleeping, we found a dirty Band-Aid and a pile of crumbs. Then we started noticing the switch plate covers were disgusting with fingerprints. The chairs were covered with a layer of grime there were smears of what look like chocolate or poop all over the walls, and there were dings all over the doors. When I called Jason, he was able to send somebody up to vacuum, but as we spent a few more minutes in the room, it was quickly apparent that it was unsatisfactory, and unable to be stated without being cleaned further. Our disinfecting wipes were not quite doing the trick. Jason was able to transfer us to another room that the head of housekeeping had taken another look at and so up we went to the fourth floor. When we got to the next room, the level of clean was not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, however it was tolerable with some Lysol spray, and some vigorous wiping with Clorox wipes. We did notice quite quickly that the shower was leaking both into the bathroom and onto the other side into the bedroom. I did not want to call Jason again because I had already been on the phone with him several times by that point, so I figured I would just get back to him the next day with that but the floor was quite wet after showers. Also, if you look in the pictures, there is a device above the door that is still undetermined what is. When I asked a member of housekeeping what it was, he told me it was an air freshener. The smell of the room would quickly determine if that was an untruth. A Google image search would tell me that this could possibly be some sort of electronic transmitter, possibly a doorbell, possibly something for temperature control, hopefully not a camera but can we really be sure? We also noticed that our phone was not working. To their merit, they did some send somebody up to try and fix it. However, this was not repairable so we are in a room that cannot connect to the front desk in anyway, short of us going down from the fourth floor to the front desk and hopefully there won't be any emergencies while we are staying here. read more

The PROS: huge king suite with fridge & microwave , bed was comfortable, my 5th floor weekend stay was very quiet, AC worked great, free breakfast with made to order omelettes & cold brew coffee in their machine, nightly reception with one free drink, free parking, price better than other hotels that didn't offer suites, digital key so I bypassed check in & my room was ready early at 1pm! CONS: older hotel, furniture in rooms could use a spruce up due to dings, cracks, missing pieces, $200 hold for a 2 night stay is excessive, elevator dirty, smells like weed outside entrance at night & wifi kicks you off A LOT. But all in all for the price & room size I'd give 3.5 stars if I could. My stay was totally fine. read more

Avoid this hotel. I was charged $779.67 for a 2-night stay at Embassy Suites Parsippany, NJ. Room 258 was filthy and unprepared. After requesting a change, Room 257 was worse -- stained, broken furniture and unbearable noise. We left after 3.5 hours, but were still charged $390.19, including $165 for 11 nights of parking, even though we never stayed overnight. Staff refused a refund and gave a blank receipt. I'll cut them a break on the fact this was a rare heat wave in June, the politeness/professional staff and a decent breakfast. That's where the good parts end. Attended a convention here over the weekend and I expected a few hiccups as its a newer one...The venue however...Wow. Fine from the outside, plenty of parking, check in for us was easy (friend of mine had a horrible exp.) Room was dated but it had a locking bathroom door, mini fridge and microwave. Looked like other appliances were there at some point but they've been removed and a quick remodel to cover up the blank spaces under the sink were done. AC in the room couldn't keep up with the heat 95 F and up, despite keeping all shades shut and no lights on. This was a common problem though out the entire hotel. ACs going up and down, fountains were running adding to the humidity, and only 1 out of 2 elevators working on the north and south side. Don't bother taking the emergency stairs, they only lead to an outdoor emergency exit that triggers an alarm. Worst of all pool was closed due to renovations, so the only way to really get any relief from the heat was to take a cold shower and sit in the dark hotel room, or leave the hotel and go off site. Multiple con goers reported having heat exhaustion. I got a text asking how our stay was, reported our AC was out (as they ALLL went down at one point Saturday) but someone named Nissha texted back "No, all ACs are working, they just cannot keep up with the heat." I've stayed at older hotels in Baltimore in August (peak heat season) and they're able to run efficiently so I'm not sure what the real issue was. Kudos to the staff for trying their best to run spare box fans around and keeping the water pitchers full best they could. Whole place could use a remodel, AC/HVAC first, pool, rooms. I did like the 90s mall feel with the fountains and lazy river stream. But I was thankful to get to my car and blast the AC on the way home. Also watch that $100 incidental charge PER NIGHT. Seems excessive for the quality...Maybe max at $50. read more

There is no option to give 0 stars, this is what this hotel deserves, we made reservations for just 1 night, we arrived at 5pm (2 hours after the check in time) were told that our room was not ready and to give them 30 minutes and they will call us, 1 hour and 18 minutes later and no call, we went back to the hotel expecting an apology and our key ready instead we were told that our room still was not ready, after my husband complained we were given the keys to room 230 along with a "enjoy our complimentary drink" which ended at 6:30pm and that was exactly the time we were actually given the keys. The room we were given is a disgrace to the Hilton Brand, I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Sarcastically enough we receive a welcoming text from who I assume was the Manager, Nisha. We let her know how unhappy we were and send her the pictures I posted here and we got no response at all!! The name on the front of this place should read Motel 8 and not Embassy Suites! Uggh! This is a hotel brand where you expect to find a well maintained, relatively up to date hotel and a better than average breakfast. This place failed on both those scores. The place stunk of decay. We had to request a second room when our first one had some brown ooze flowing out from under the fridge, not to mention an air conditioner that could not keep the room comfortable, lipstick on a wall (or blood - we didn't stick around to investigate). (Need I also mention lampshade bent out of alignment and blown light bulbs that no one thought to replace? The new room wasn't much better, with a bathroom full of moldy grout and mineral encrusted chrome fixtures. My wife is a stickler for room cleanliness and found dirt and hair throughout the room and bathroom. The common areas were smelly and carpeting showed its age. For breakfast, some of the fruit was noticeably spoiled. And, to cap it all off, they charge $15 a day to park at a suburban location where virtually everyone needs a car. This is what they are talking about when they refer to "junk fees." They just want to pad their profits by advertising a room rate that seems low only because it doesn't include the parking charge that virtually everyone has to pay. The fact that Hilton allows this fraudulent practice means I will be looking to go elsewhere from now on. read more

Was in town for 2 nights for work. Coworker chose this hotel because it wasn't too far from where we needed to be. Even though it's close to thenhighway, you can hardly hear any traffic noise which is great. The room was clean, the bed comfortable. It was nice that there's a fridge in the room. However, I would not recommend putting anything that needs to be in a freezer in that fridge unless it's just for a few minutes. I bought some ice pops and my coworker bought ice cream. By the time we each respectively went to eat these items, they had turned to soup. Due to Covid, the gym was not available. In addition, breakfast is sealed items to avoid contamination which is nice. They also have an evening event where you can come down and get a drink and mingle with other guests or go back to your room. We ended up not participating due to exhaustion but it's a nice gesture. I asked the lady who was at the front desk if she knew of any vegan spots in the area. All she did was Google and mention a few places which I had already done...was hoping for some local insights of good spots to eat. Not a big deal but would be nice to have. read more

I had a terrible experience with this hotel. I booked it because based on their picture, including the picture posted on yelp, it shows that there is a pool and a hot tub. However, I came to find out there was not a hot tub and because I missed the cancellation window by three hours, they would not refund my money. I informed the hotel that I would not be making the trip and staying there. I was going to find a hotel that had a pool and they refused to refund my money. The manager Amaya Never had enough common courtesy to even get back to me. I tried calling the hotel numerous times no one ever answers their phone. They ask you to text message them in which I did and they just never respond. I emailed the manager she did not respond. I asked who was higher than her and I got no response very unprofessional false advertising and I think they are nothing but thieves. read more

Stayed here overnight on Thanksgiving. There are pluses and minuses to the hotel. I'm basically echoing what others have said but.. Pros- the free hot breakfast stands out as a huge advantage over other hotels. The lady making eggs was very warm and pleasant and efficient even with a huge holiday crowd! Most of the other buffet food stuffs were good enough. Avoid the danish though- terrible lol. Plenty of beverages and coffee. Also the location is very good, close to highways, restaurants, etc. Quiet spacious rooms. Pretty atrium. Comfortable king bed. Cons Basically everything else. So biggest problem was we were greeted at the front desk by a lady who has no idea what hospitality is, how to check someone on, or even communicate. After she told us we had to pay FIFTEEN DOLLARS PER DAY to park I was like what??!! Like on what planet do you have to pay to park in a suburban area? The hotel has hundreds of parking spaces. I have only ever paid to park at a hotel in a city like DC or Baltimore. This is literally outrageous and I plan to contact Hilton directly about it. I was never informed in my reservation about a parking fee. So back to the front desk- apparently the lady was done checking us in and was doing other things at the desk. After 15 minutes waiting to check in and then "checking I ", another five minutes pass, and I was like um so are we done? She's like yea. Like WTF? if we are checked in, a normal person who works in hospitality would say, ok enjoy your stay! Or have a great night, or indicate in some way we were done with our conversation. And that way we can get on with our stay. Honestly baffling. Next issue is the room, and lack of upgrades. The hotel is old, the microwave smelled and the only reason I needed it was to sterilize Baby bottles which in hindsight I may have been better off just cleaning them myself without sterilization. I expected better from a Hilton property. I gave 3 stars because we slept well, decent bed and I liked the breakfast: but the place needs some serious upgrades, clarity on the parking ??? I stayed here the night of November 8 and booked the trip on Priceline.com. I would not have used Priceline if I had known that doing that would not entitle me to get Hilton Honors points. After I checked in, Tiara, the friendly professional front desk clerk, informed me that the hotel does not award Hilton Honors points if the reservation has been made with a third part vendor. Now I know that room rates are likely cheaper if made on the Hilton website, which lists rates competing with those of third party vendors. TIara handed me the room keys with two complimentary drink vouchers: one for me and my guest. I had a margarita, which was surprisingly strong and tasty. The restaurant where I was served is called The Bistecca, located downstairs from the hotel lobby. My guest did not want anything to drink, but unfortunately the server would not allow me to use the other voucher for a second drink. Our room was on a top floor. It had two TVs: one in the bedroom; the other, in the lounge. The lounge had a microwave and refrigerator. Tiara sent me a surprise text and asked me how I liked the room. I responded that the heater was blowing lukewarm air. It was fixed within one half hour on the coldest night so far this Fall. Because of the excellent customer service Tiara provided me, I would definitely recommend that she get some recognition. However, what I did not like about Embassy Suites is it's less-than-mediocre breakfast. I have attached photos of the uncooked, soupy oatmeal that came with only one topping: cinnamon. Where were the raisins and dried cranberries? The eggs and sausage were gross, and there was no bacon despite the sign in the restaurant that there was bacon available. I have travelled cross-country and overseas, and never have I had a subpar hotel breakfast like this. Guests ought to eat breakfast elsewhere or bring frozen breakfast and microwave it. Overall, this hotel is satisfactory. It was not worth the $142 that I paid for the room. I would not stay here again. read more

I have no other words for this hotel except horrendous. Never have I ever stayed at such a disgraceful hotel. The front desk assigned me a room that had been broken into my the neighbors and destroyed. (See images) I asked for a new assigned room and the neighbors on both sides of me were partying all night. There was hair all over the shower/tub so clearly wasn't properly sanitized. There were also dead mosquitos on the "clean towels." (Also see images Not to include there was a fire alarm pulled at 6am and everyone had to be evacuated. I am a flight attendant and this cut into my crucial rest period. But the rooms were dated and only cleaned ok. Walls and corners worn. Colors drab. Furniture old. But bed good and new. Not a smart tv but 2 tvs in room. Breakfast. We stayed here from Friday, June 21st to Sunday June 23rd as part of a wedding party. Check In on a Friday evening (around 4pm) was kind of slow as they only had two people working the front desk. But once it was our turn, check in was quick and the gentleman that helped us was friendly and explained a few things to us about our stay and gave us wristbands for the pool. They require a credit card upon check-in (as usual) and will hold $50 per night that you stay to cover any incidentals. Our room on the third floor was clean, spacious and comfortable. You walk in to a living room with a couch, chair, TV, and a spacious desk area (couch and chair were pretty dated). The hallway has a counter with a sink, mini fridge, ice bucket, drinking glasses (as well as paper cups), coffee maker and microwave. They provide one bottle of water, but if you drink it you pay $5. The bedroom is separate and has a door you can close for privacy. Bedroom has a sink, TV, bed (duh), two night stands with outlets near each one, full length mirror and plenty of closet space. The window opens if you want fresh air. The bathroom was a nice size, had a large countertop with a hairdryer underneath and Neutrogena products were provided (lotion, conditioner, shampoo). They have a little snack shop near the check-in desk where a 20 oz bottle of soda will cost you $2--similar prices to a convenience store. I'm not sure about prices of snacks as we didn't get anything to eat. A hot breakfast is complimentary and was decent. It is served from 7 am to 10 am. They have an omelet station with fresh veggies, meats and cheese, which is also where they hide the bacon (you have to ask for it). This was pretty good. There is a lot of seating but it also fills up pretty quickly depending on what time you get there. We arrived around 9 am and found seating for 2 but it started getting really busy shortly thereafter. They also have outdoor seating for breakfast if you choose. There are a lot of shops and places to eat nearby. I highly recommend The Great Wazu sandwich shop that is in the plaza across the street! To sum it up, we would stay again -- our room was clean, staff was friendly and we didn't have any issues. read more

My family and I traveled to NJ for a funeral. We checked into the ES via mobile. Upon arriving our room was not ready. The hotel looked like it was once very beautiful but is super outdated. Sadly after waiting 4 hours we were able to go in our room. Once we entered our room we notice our room not cleaned and the bed had a lot of yellow/ brown stains on it. I was blown away by the uncleanliness and unsanitary condition of our room. We asked for another room however it took them a few more hours to move us again. We tried to find other hotels but sadly everything nearby was booked. Super disappointed with this location and will never visit again. read more

NEVER. AGAIN. Restaurant wasnt open till late, only 1 server. Why bother being open? They offer 1 drink on the house but the selection is abysmal. They refused to comp my mothers room when the handicapped bench broke with her on it. She injured herself and they cant even be bothered to give a free dinner at their hella overpriced restaurant??! People were alloud to loiter in the front and smoke weed, and the hotel reeked of it on every floor. Though children may be the responsibility of their parents, there were children running around unsupervised the entire weekend. Staff should have told their parents to reign their animal children in. The breakfast was ok but not much seating. And I dont appreciate dirty laundry or garbage bags in the hall. I understand that the cleaning staff is just doing their job, but its a bad look for a dated looking hotel anyways. NEVER. AGAIN. read more

This hotel host a company called Beacon , Who markets themselves as a wholesale travel company. To put it gently they are unethical and a bait and switch company. When confronted they say they do not know their product and shocked by the policy in place. I was promised a refund it's going on 2 months now. I have reached out to the general manager of Embassy Suites and also have been ignored, to explain the business practices going on . Bottom line is Embassy Suites is perfectly ok hosting an outside company who is a con and just collecting the rent they pay to use their conference room. Anyone reading this please do not respond to anything from Beacon. also I would think twice about staying at a hotel who lets this happen to just collect a rental of their conference room read more

Rare trip for me up to this region of the country but always happy to stay in an embassy suites when directed by the company to do so. Nice large hotel with huge atrium similar to many others, check in was fast and efficient and rooms were clean and roomy with your full suite and separate bedroom.Beds were comfortable and again in the bathroom and room are spotless making my night here very comfortable. The breakfast area was huge with omelette station and all the breakfast items you need and included in the price of the room. Relatively easy to find and it was a short trip from the Newark airport so good for me and what I expect out of Hilton. Highly recommend!! read more

I recently had a super disappointing stay here. While the lobby and fountains present the illusion of an upscale establishment, the rooms are outdated with ripped sofa cushions and broken outlets and fridge knobs. Cleanliness left much to be desired; the attached photos were taken within 5 minutes of my arrival so housekeeping is clearly not the best at this establishment. We found empty ice machines on floors 2-4 until we finally gave up looking. Also, there were little kids running all over the place - it literally sounded like a mini stampede from them running up and down the hallways. I understand this is a family friendly hotel, but I didn't know I was signing up for an overnight stay at Chuckie Cheese with wild children running everywhere unattended. However, the nail in the coffin for us was what went down after dark.The room next door to us was clearly a group having a frat type party with all kinds of loud noises going into the late night. From 12:30 am to 3:00 am I called the front desk three times to complain of the rager going on next door, but I was repeatedly told that they couldn't do much to stop the group next door from causing havoc in the middle of the night. Instead, they offered to move us to another room which I declined due to the fact that we didn't want to lug all of our belongings to another room at 3 AM -we just wanted to sleep. We spoke to the manager, Stephen, the next morning who was unable (unwilling?) to refund us because we paid via Orbitz. He did offer us a complementary future stay, and had our only issue been with the noise we may have accepted. Sadly, due the overall hotel conditions, the mediocre quality of the breakfast buffet, and the clientele the hotel seems to attract, we declined. I actually had my Sweet 16 here 15 years ago, and it was such a big deal to be having my party at the Embassy because it was the best hotel in the area. Clearly, a lot has changed since then and it seems like what was once a solid hotel has gone downhill. read more

The hotel needs to be renovated. Everything is very old and worn. The woman in the kitchen cooking the omelets was also very rude.
