We went here on our last night in town, in the middle of the holiday weekend. Two of us shared a burger and I was a little upset that we were charged to share a burger until I found out that we would each receive a side to go along with our half burger. We had to wait a little while to have our order taken, but we were well taken care of. Our beverages remained filled and the food was pretty good. My complaint was that the burger on my half was burned; not a little bit, but quite a bit around the edges. The fries were phenomenal and our other dinner partner had a chicken quesadilla, which was really good! We would most likely go back if in town again, but I think I might try something other than a burger. read more

My husband and I spend the week of July 10 in Joseph along with 4 other couples. We made it into Embers on 3 different occasions. The food was excellent; the beer cold, but most of all we enjoyed the staff. We were waited on by Melissa on our first visit and what a nice girl we found her to be. What an asset to your business she must be (and no, I don't know her and am not related to her! :) ). We were also served by a young man who was equally helpful. Sorry I did not get his name. We will certainly stop in again on our next visit to Joseph. read more

But their specials caught my eye. They go far beyond their menu so be sure to check them out. After two hard days hiking in the Wallowas, I wanted to eat something healthy so I had their Spinach Salad with grilled chicken. It was perfect and the fresh berries in it were amazing! I was also surprised to see this place also serves craft cocktails. I didn't have it but they had a special that was very creative and looked quite tasty. The greatest surprise was the live music. I was here on a Thursday night and it seems like a few places in town start music on those nights after a quiet week. Two bands played. They were both awesome. A few folks started swing dancing. I stayed until closing. So fun! And service was super friendly, especially towards an obvious outsider that I was that night. I hope to return to Joseph someday soon and will definitely return here!
