I was introduced to the classes at Full Circle by a friend who has taken classes there for years…read more Although, I have only taken one class so far I must admit I did enjoy the poses with the assistance of props, blocks, straps and rope pulleys to facilitate ease of posing for extended periods. I am not in great shape and I'm rather stiff so I was concerned as to whether I was going to be able to hang threw to the end of the class - let alone enjoy getting these old bones in and out of poses I had not tried in decades. I took the Friday night, Restorative Practice class (6:00 - 7:30 PM) with instructor and owner, Aman, and his two friendly canines, Charlie and Fred, were there for additional backup ;) That being said if you don't enjoy being around dogs - this isn't the place for you since Charlie and Fred come with the territory at Full Circle. The class instruction was very good. I enjoyed Aman's pleasant demeanor and the slow pace of the class. Aman kept careful watch on me, as I was the only new student, while maintaining his awareness of all of the other class participants. It was challenging for me not only because I was so stiff but because I am overweight - so Aman made sure to instruct me using suitable props to accommodate my particular needs. I think Charlie and Fred must have been working on the book keeping because I never got any feedback from them ;) You're supposed to quiet your mind, relax and breath while allowing your body to experience each pose, however, it was very tough not to laugh out loud (at myself!) as I caught glimpses of me in the mirror looking like a Stinkbug. You see, during the * "Child's pose" (bah-LAHS-anna) (bala = child) my pouched belly (very similar in size and shape to a "Star-bellied Sneetch") was preventing me from getting my bum downward into the correct position. All in all I did well and left feeling both relaxed and energized. And though the class was relaxing my body felt as though I had gone to the gym and had an extensive circuit training and the next day I felt a bit of tenderness (in a good way!) Full Circle Yoga Institute has several instructors you can read their bios on their website. I recommend you get there at least 15 min early if it's your first time so you can register and put your personal things away...Yoga mats and all necessary props provided at the studio. Don't eat for at least 2 hrs prior to class (unless your last meal was so tasty you just want to experience it one more time!) and limit your intake of fluid right before class as well. Wear relaxed clothing - you don't need anything fancy. Yoga mats and all necessary props provided at the studio. Currently, a Single Class costs $15 - it's a bit pricey, but you can purchase a group of classes and get the classes discounted. Parking is in front of the studio on El Cajon Blvd or on 39th Street Drop-ins are welcome. Each week one stretching/yoga session, and one physical training session. Aura and her colleagues know what they're doing, listen and watch, figure out what you need as an individual, and tailor the sessions to it. The center is wonderfully serene, open, airy and fresh. I appreciate mild verbal correction, but I don't appreciate being slapped on the knee without my consent and being told that my leg isn't straight enough. I also don't appreciate an instructor who acts aggrieved because I won't do headstands or stand on top of a chair and throw my body forward. I don't need an instructor pointing out who is doing "a good job" at a particular pose or making anyone hold a pose so everyone else can "come and look at her, she's doing it the right way". Yoga is not a competition, I don't need your coaching, thanks. I have one more prepaid class, which I will only return to Joann for, and then I'm done.

I took the embodied flow class and it was the perfect mix of relaxing and challenging at the same time. Since this studio is new, the instructors took the time to get to know me and it felt like a very intimate class. The instructor was attentive, kind, and provided many modifications. I did an evening class today with candlelight and a sound bath, and it was incredible, so relaxing and rejuvenating. The instructor, Rex, was sweet, knowledgeable, and made the experience even more special. I love how they offer low heat classes, which is perfect for hot days. Overall, such a warm, welcoming studio with a unique and memorable class experience.

The studio itself is beautiful --very spacious, calming, and thoughtfully designed. I loved the soft whites and the green accents from the plants and decor. It creates such a relaxing atmosphere. It's located in a small mom-and-pop plaza. There is some parking in the front, but you may need to find street parking nearby. There's also a CVS close by where you can park for about an hour, which works out well since the class is around 45-50 minutes. It was a smaller class which made it feel very personal. I'll definitely be back. P.S. I was so present and really enjoyed the atmosphere that I completely forgot to take photos lol!

She never mentioned that grip socks were mandatory--or that I could buy them--until two minutes after class started and I was starting on the equipment. She then gave me an ultimatum: pay $25 for socks on the spot or leave. I live nearby and easily could have grabbed my own pair had she told me when I walked in. To make matters worse, there is no mention of a mandatory sock policy on their website. Sara had plenty of time to inform me privately beforehand, but instead publicly embarrassed my friend and me in front of the entire class, and I still lost my class credits. Extremely unprofessional.

I've been taking the Form class on Sundays with Monica, and it's been such a great entry point into Reformer Pilates. Monica has a calming presence, is incredibly welcoming, and does a great job teaching at a beginner pace without making it feel slow or watered down. She's also been really helpful in accommodating an injury I'm working through, which makes a big difference. The studio is tucked upstairs in a quiet place in an otherwise busy building, which adds to the calm, personal vibe. It's always clean and peaceful, and I genuinely love Monica's playlists -- they're relaxing, not overpowering, and really support the mood of the class. Even when classes show as full, I've had luck getting in off the waitlist -- definitely worth adding yourself if you're trying to join. Can't wait to explore more classes, especially Flow!
