A few shops offered hardwiring installation, but that seemed expensive and unnecessary for my setup. I simply wanted someone to install a dash cam I had purchased on Amazon. Using Yelp's search feature, I looked for local shops and came across Emily's Tinting Stereo, which happened to be very close to home. I called the day before to confirm their hours, and the gentleman on the phone told me to come in at 9 a.m. when they opened. I arrived 10 minutes early, and to my surprise, the shop was already open--always a good sign when a business is ready ahead of schedule. I was greeted by a friendly old-school rocker-type guy who was eager to help. I showed him the dash cam and he gave both it and my vehicle a quick inspection. He confirmed he could install it properly. We agreed on a fair price, and he quoted an estimated time of one to two hours to ensure everything was installed smoothly. I walked home--about a 30-minute walk--and by the time I arrived, the rocker dude called to let me know the job was already done, which was a pleasant surprise. My wife gave me a ride back, and I picked up the car. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the installation and the speed of service. However, I do have a couple of points of constructive feedback: 1. Payment: When I went to pay with a card, the agreed-upon price increased by about $10. While not a dealbreaker, it would've been nice to know that ahead of time. 2. Yelp Discount: I asked about the 10% Yelp discount advertised on their page, but was told it couldn't be honored because the boss wasn't on-site. Again, not a big issue for me, but future customers should be aware the discount might not always be available. 3. Interior Care: My vehicle has a high-gloss center console that scratches easily. When I got it back, I noticed some scuffs where parts had been placed during the install. I understand this kind of thing can happen, especially with poorly designed interiors, but I'd recommend a bit more care in the future to avoid avoidable damage. That said, I still had a good experience. The job was done quickly, pricing was fair, and the dash cam works perfectly. I'd rate the speaker replacement a 3/5 due to the scratches and marks left on the speaker panels after the service. Also the screw cap cover was popped out got loose and eventually fell out and I wasn't told about this but I managed to put it back in place. I'm not fully sure if these damages looked like this already, so please correct me if I'm wrong. I take good care of my car, so I was a bit concerned when I noticed them. The audio sounds great now and the old raspy noise is gone, which I appreciate. I also didn't like that the old replaced parts were left in my car instead of being thrown away. I would give it 10 stars if I could!... Let me start by saying I found them through Yelp. No recommendations other than the other reviews. Javier picked up the phone the first time I called, quoted me on installing a new screen radio I bought on Amazon for my old 98 Rav4 (I wanted Apple Car Play), and the very next day I stopped by and I was in and out in less than an hour... The price was super reasonable and what they quoted me was what they charged me (which speaks volumes because being a female, car shops etc tend to claim the work took longer for whatever reason to try charging me more). The labor was impeccable and they even helped me set up my phone with the bluetooth and showed me how to use the radio. I picked up a subwoofer off of OfferUp on a Sunday afternoon, and Emely's was the only place open to install it. I was a little skeptical because of all the 5 star reviews, but I called and went in anyways. Not only did they take me in an hour before closing, the service was impeccable and everyone was genuinely helpful and wanted the best for me. The long haired mechanic installed my subwoofer perfectly and explained any questions I had in the mean time, in simple and easy to understand terms. I got my scion frs done there and they flawlessly put on kits and wired my electronics and put on my Tints in minutes.
