No. My family had been going to Emerald City for decades. Loved Wilber, loved the dogs, loved the service. Wilber retired and now this shop SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS! I brought my Miata in for new rear breaks, and a couple of other minor fixes, after a full week they returned it (with an exorbitant bill) and the breaks did not work. By the time I had driven home from the shop MY NEW BREAKS WERE TOTALLY NON FUNCTIONAL and all the break fluid had come gushing out one of the rear calipers. After I returned it and asked them to fix the mistakes they obviously made the first time, they kept it for a second entire week and then, THEY CHARGED ME A SECOND TIME TO FIX THEIR WORK! Also they do not return phone calls, or call you when they say they will, they are totally disorganized, and the customer service is generally terrible. TLDR: It takes them forever to do bad work, and they charge you a second time to fix their own mistakes. Go somewhere (anywhere) else read more

I have been using Emerald City Automotive for over 20 years, and multiple vehicles. I have always received quality work. The ownership changed last year, and the new owners have made some changes. I recently took my 15 year old Saturn van in because it seemed like the transmission was shot. They took a look and we decided we would try to fix the car. They worked hard and kept me well informed. They were able to fix the problems for a reasonable cost. I hope to continue bringing my car in for maintenance for a few more years. Thanks for working with me to help keep my van running. Love Kenny and Wilbur! I go in every time knowing I'll get an honest, well done car inspection or repair. They tell you straight what's going on, but dont try to squeeze every dime out of you. Last time I went in for my oil, they told me my axel was lightly leaking. But instead of trying to convince me I needed to do the repair right away, they said I could wait a few months and put money aside. They arent afraid to tell you that you can wait and I respect that. I have had 3 repairs done and all 3 times my car was secure. My big recommendation is dont try to get a repair estimate on the phone. They wont give it to you. They want to look at the issue themselves, and can you really blame them? read more

Extremely easy to make an appointment online, very quick service and they did what I needed done. Needed to get a leak fixed in my tire and they didn't even charge me for it saying I will be back for something more "meaningful". Only criticism which is minor is the condition of the waiting room. Took my bimmer to Emerald City Automotive to install a new after-market radiator, thermostat, and water pump. After a couple of days I picked the car up. No issues, quick turn-around, they did good work. Fast forward several months, winter driving and slid off road and hit pole at low speed and damaged newly installed radiator and air conditioning condenser unit. Body damage was minimal as pole bent and went under car and only damages radiator and condenser. Ordered a new radiator and took car back to Emerald City for installation. They ordered the A/C condenser and installed a second time. Installation took a couple of days longer than expected which was fine by me. When they called back I couldn't pick car up, but I paid by phone and picked up five days later, after business hours at night. When I got the car home I noticed a nasty door ding on passenger side door which I know was not there when I dropped car off. I called Emerald City to tell them about it, and spoke with Wilbur, the shop manager. First he denied the door ding happened while at shop, then he said his shop is not responsible for any damage that occurs during his possession. Wrong! the shop IS responsible for any damage that occurs while it is in their possession. A couple of weeks later I noticed the car was starting to overheat slightly. Pulled over and checked fluids and noticed coolant was low. Decided to take to another shop to get it checked out. New shop determined the source of the leak was the thermostat housing gasket. Paid additional fees to correct issue and was back on the road. Several months later summer rolled around and AC was not cooling. Called Emerald City to report the problem and they contacted manufacturer and replaced the unit free of charge. Emerald City Automotive is a good shop but they dropped the ball on the small details -- the new radiator should have been installed with a new thermostat housing gasket. Ken was the mechanic who worked on my car. Wilbur is the shop manager, both are nice guys but Wilbur is not diligent about calling customers to update them on the status of their vehicles. To his credit he sees this as his weakness. I could work with that, but unfortunately the incident with the door ding didn't sit well with me and I will probably not be going back. read more

Beware, this is NOT Wilbur and Kenny's shop anymore. The new owners will scam you out of as much as they can. New owners worked on my car and told me it would be thousands to fix, turns out they installed two damaged spark plugs which was causing the misfires and engine light warnings. As soon as they were replaced by a different shop the engine is totally fine. read more

Sometimes I am hesitant to share my good finds as they may be flooded with new business and not as available when I need their services but I'll share anyway. This hidden gem in the airpark is as good as it gets. I won't bring my cars anywhere else because once you find a mechanic you can trust with a vehicle you drive every day, it's a huge relief. Wilbur is the low key and honest. He has told me on more than one occasion that a past car I was driving (until it would no longer run) was not worth it to fix. And Kenny has done the recommended repairs when it was warranted with no complaints from us. Even my skeptical spouse who, in his youth, grew up doing many repairs himself on his cars said he will no longer buy a used car unless he has them inspect it. They are trusted mechanics who have earned it based on many years of service on my vehicles. And when I recognized their OZ theme, the first time I went there, it just proved to be a good fit. read more

I've been taking my cars to Kenny and Wilbur for the past 30 years! I forgo service from dealerships unless it is recall or warranty work. I've never been disappointed. And now that they are in their new location, it's pleasant to wait for them to complete routine oil changes and tire rotations. I recently had an odd noise that I couldn't figure out, took it to Kenny, After one drive around the block, he put it up on the lift, found what was casuing it ( a broken piece of the mud flap), said he would order a replacement for the next time I came in...and no charge for this! read more
