Still Five Stars! I'm actually writing this on Thanksgiving as we are still very Thankful for businesses like this. While Manley is no longer on board, Matt found and hired Brent. Brent is the "Real McCoy" when it comes to service writers. He's very knowledgeable about all aspects of vehicle maintenance. I mentioned in my last review, how happy the customers are, I now notice how happy the crew is too. I'm sure I can't give Brent all the credit, but it seems morale is up which is great especially since the pandemic seems to keep holding many of us back. Took my ford crown vic lx 2011 to this shop because it was recommended by most folks in the "Nextdoor" app (close to my house). I was not disappointed. The car had a squeak everytime I drove it or it would go on a bump, etc. The shop took it and found out it needed replacement of some bushing arms. They did not pressured me to anything, gave me the estimate, and gave me plenty of time to decide. I had that squeak for a while and it was driving me crazy so when I drove it without the sound. I could not believe it. No doubt my first experience with these guys at the Flower Hill Mchecanic was phenomenal. So disorganized, can't even make an appointment for drop off. I called on Monday, he said they're booked up, can't take till Thursday & to call first before bringing in. When I called on Thursday, he didn't even know what I was calling for or talking about. Had to explain everything about car problem all over again. Then he says he can't take till Monday, still booked up & makes excuses, tells me to wait another 4 days to bring car in. He should have just said he can't do it anytime soon in the 1st place. Instead, he wastes a customer's time, with no consideration at all! I could have got it fixed somewhere else by now & will certainly be doing that. I will not be calling them again, apparently he has enough business & can't handle anymore! Also, wasting several days of my time is not appreciated!! Update: in reply to your response, I NEVER said my vehicle had been sitting for a long time!! In fact I told him TWICE what it needed. I don't know where he got such a ridiculous idea unless just saying that as an excuse. My vehicle has tags & is insured. Why would anyone pay insurance for a vehicle to sit for a 'long' time? Also, if it wasn't being driven, how would I know what was needed?? There was never any mention of 'issues'! I prefer to find another mechanic after this. read more

Absolutely one of the best auto repair shops in the area! They have kept my old vehicles running in good condition: a 23 year old 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ, and a 16 year old 2007 Chevy Tahoe. They really can do it all. They ran a frame swap on my Tahoe (expensive, but cheaper than replacing the vehicle used--even the same model year--which would just provide a new batch of problems to address), and have been able to weld and repair skid plate mounts on the Jeep (which hold the transmission and fuel tank in place). Very few shops still offer that level of repair. Their mechanics still diagnose problems rather than replace parts and hope. Brent has been a great service writer in the front office, as was Manley before him. They and their team understand budgets and need-to-have repairs and service vs nice-to-have repairs. While I still use a quick-lube place for oil changes (because I'd rather wait than drop off and pick up) these guys get the rest of my business, including the rarer (but getting more frequent) work on my spouse's PHEV--a 2018 Honda Clarity. read more

There's nothing bad I can say about this shop! Hands down, it has been the best experience I've had at an automotive shop in a very long time. I am prepping my vehicle for a cross-country trip and wanted to go somewhere other than Ford knowing that dealership's tend to charge you 30% more than what other places will charge, along with not having good experiences with Ford. I've had cars taken in to many shops across the country and I've never had this level of professionalism and professional knowledge. They're honest and straight to the point with what's wrong with the vehicle and they give you different options with fixing said issues. There were times where I couldn't pick up my car due to me working after hours, no problem, they found a way to help me out that was super convenient for me. At work and can't stop by the shop to pay for their work on your car, no problem with that either, they've got other ways for you to pay for the maintenance whether you can stop by during business hours or not. You definitely get a family feeling when you take your vehicle here and they're going to treat you right. Brent at the front desk, is super friendly and is adament about making sure you know what the situation is on your vehicle. 5 stars all around highly recommend. My husband and I are those people who have always been having their cars serviced at the dealer since we bought them. My husband was told he needed a very extensive bit of work done to his Infinity G20 so he thought he should get a second opinion. Enter Flower Hill Automotive. They not only recommended fewer things needed to be done, but also performed them at a fraction of the price the dealer quoted. On my Prius, I had to have a battery tire sensor replaced last year. I did that at the dealer, who charged me $399. I just had one replaced at Flower Hill today and I kid you not, Brent charged me 1/3 of the price and noted the battery levels in the other two sensors that have not yet been replaced so I knew. He's not pushy about services but will tell you honestly what needs to be done now, what's optional, and what you can wait on. It's always easy to get in touch with him and he's very communicative about everything. Highly recommend; we're never going back to the dealer. read more

I've been taking my cars and trucks to Flower Hill for years and continue to have great experiences with them. Matt, the owner, and his team of professionals do a great job in several ways. They are great at diagnosing the problem, they fix it right the first time, and they don't overcharge for their work. Recently, though - they exceeded all expectations showing what kind of people they are. A group of neighbors pitched in to buy a disabled neighbor a used conversion van and I asked if Matt could help with the safety inspection. Matt inspected the van for free, identified the problems and gave us a huge discount on the work - essentially absorbing a lot of the costs as his way to also contribute to this family who he didn't even know. I absolutely love this mechanic. I have taken my car in a few times because it felt like it was driving really hard. A lot of mechanics would try to find something wrong just to charge you for something. Matt drive my car around for a little bit. He could feel what I was talking about but after checking the car out he decided that my car just feels like it drives this way normally. He couldn't find anything wrong. Sure enough, since I am writing this review YEARS after this happened, I have never had an issue with the car. I have only had to do normal maintenance to it. Once I was told by a quick lube place that my transmission fluid was really dark and needed to be flushed. I will never get a service like that from a place that does super quick oil changes so I took my car to Flower Hill Automotive to have them check it out. Once again, they told me it was fine and the quick lube place was just trying to get some money out of me. I am taking my car to them tomorrow because my check engine light came on this morning. I am confident they will find the issue and not charge me an arm and a leg to fix it. They have also been very accommodating of my schedule in the past. Overall, great guys! I almost didn't want to write this review so they don't get any more busy than they already are so I can get in quicker, haha! But, they never have any issues fitting me in and they deserve the amazing review. Great people and great mechanics! read more

Hooray for Flower Hill Automotive! They are my heroes. I have had an ongoing electrical issue for ~6 years during which the local dealership service centers have not correctly diagnosed. After paying them thousands of dollars for many alternators and batteries, I was fed up and went looking for a new shop. Enter in Matt and Manly. They are the first to actually diagnose the real problem rather than bandaid the situation. They have been very professional, effective and well worth the fair amount charged. Took my Ford Explorer in cause it died on me. The guys at Flower Hill were Awesome treated me great and took care of me right away. Ended up having to get a new battery and a new starter. Took it in at 4pm on Monday got a call at 5:30pm of the problem and they had me on my way by noon very next day. labor and parts was $435.00 very fair price for what I needed and the time was short so No Complaints about this place. Can I give more than 5 stars?!?! :-) Seriously, if i could I would. Matt, Manley and the crew are simply AWESOME! My wife and I have taken 5 of our cars there over the years and have always been VERY happy with the service they provide. We have older cars that need regular maintenance so we will typically go there 5-6 times a year on average. We trust them implicitly with our cars and the services they recommend. As indicated, we have older cars that always have a few things that could be done to them and they are always very upfront and honest about which things are real concerns (safety issues for example) and which are things that can wait. When you have older cars and are on a budget these things are very very important. Not only is the service great, but the guys in the shop are very nice. I know they get busy like all businesses but they always take the time to make us feel like they value our business and that we are important to them. As the other poster said, "honest and fair" I would also add trustworthy. These are all great ways to sum them up and are all vital qualities of an A+++ auto-repair shop. read more
