I've been going to Emerald City Smoothie for a number of years. First time trying Queen Anne location tonight. I asked for a Slim and Fit with Marionberry, which I always get at ECS. Got charged extra for the Marionberry even though sign says choose a flavor. I mentioned this and lady said extra 75cents for Marionberry. Other locations don't charge extra unless you add extra on top of base flavor. For slim and fit there is no base flavor. Anyhow, after is was made, it didn't taste very good. Seemed thin in flavor and more watered down. I'm going to the Aurora or Shoreline location next time. read more

I went in for the first time and was greeted right away. Moriel was adorable, she chatted me up about the nice weather and gave me super speedy service. I had a coupon for a free size upgrade, so I got a medium instead of a small. I was surprised to see it was still $5.75 for a "16oz" and asked if it was correct. It was and she apologized for not mentioning that it was only $.25 to go from 16 to 24 ounces, oh well, nbd. She was serving me up when she said "oh, no, it looks like I made too much" and dumped it all in a large cup. That was really nice of her :) I will defiantly come back again. read more

Literally worst açaí bowl I've ever had. Insanely over priced. They don't even cut up the bananas. I highly recommend to not go here

I love Emerald City smoothie....normally. I go to the one in Shoreline all the time and never have had a problem. Today I was excited to see one is near where I work so a co-worker and I went. First thing when we get to the line to order the gal behind the counter looks extremely angry, even apologized for her "angry face." Then we place out order which totaled about $13, I gave a gentleman a $20, he took it and put it in the register and immediately walked away. I had to wait a moment and then ask for my change. Finally I have my smoothie the same smoothie I order everytime and Im excicted because I know how delicious it is going to be....no not delicious at all. It had absolutely no flavor and it basically was blended watered down ice. Not impressed. Sadly will not be going back to this location. read more

The smoothies are all right, but for $7, you would think they would use actual fruit, and not just syrup. Also, if you make your business market to people with "Look how healthy we are", maybe using syrup was a bad choice. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that using real ingredients. Or, if you really need a comparable "smoothie", you can get the same thing at any coffee shop in Seattle for half the price. read more

The guy at the register wasn't very smiley or talkative, it was as if he was "put off" if you asked a question. I ordered the Lean Out, chocolate with a banana , you could add peanut butter, I asked if they use the powdered peanut butter that they sold at the counter? (It was lower in calories and sugar.) He said, "nope just regular peanut butter." I asked what does that mean, like Jiffy Peanut Butter? He said, "yep!" Well that made up my mind to not add that in. Cost was $6.30, I didn't even taste the banana, I think he forgot it. I did taste the powdery protein. I told him I really didn't like the shake, he just shook his head like oh well. I seem to always get a better deal than I hoped for here! They give a discount for Seattle Gym members, parking is easy, many options of smoothies, baristas are helpful and friendly. Today I even received about twice as much as I ordered because he made too much! read more

Avoid at ALL costs. This is my first negative review but I think it is my responsibility. I have had a terrible experience with the manager of this Emerald City Location. I was given a punch card at the Queen Anne location by the owner before they rolled out their points card. When I went to use it a couple months later at the same location where I received the card the manager/owner started interrogating me as if the punch card wasn't legit. He practically yelled at me then proceeded to accuse me of lying because they "have never offered punch cards at this location" which is a lie because that is the only Emerald City I go to... Additionally, if you think this is healthy, think again. This same man rinses the blenders then dips them in BLEACH and doesn't rinse again, leaving a bleach puddle at the bottom of the blender. If this isn't concerning, I don't know what is. I have also heard from many friends that he requires employees to put their tips in the register if the till is off which is VERY illegal. Please, do not support businesses who do not care about the community. He is only concerned with profit. read more

I'm a big fan of the ECS, but after two visits to this place I won't be going back. Both times I went in it was understaffed. One employee working while the other was on break or came by later. Place wasn't clean. Trash overflowing. The employee was more interested in talking with a friend hanging out there than helping the customers. Both times it was young kids working that obviously had no customer service or interest in doing their job and not supervised. They eventually made the smoothie, which was not very good. It wasn't consistent with other ECS. Hopefully these guys eventually get the message that they are pretty terrible and get employees that are willing to actually work. ECS should really hold their stores to a higher standard, especially since stores like this give the whole company a bad name. read more

As my readers likely know by now, I have stomach problems from time to time. Sometimes it gets so bad that I literally can not eat /anything/. Except a smoothie. When these times hit - water hurts, gatorade hurts, juice hurts, food hurts. I can't eat or drink. So..... this place is a real life saver!I love this place because anything that saves my tummy, while tasting great AND filling me up just brings me tears of happiness. I've yet to try any of their other smoothies yet - I always just get a Mango Berry with added Bee Sure so I can get the nutritional content I've been missing for a while. The staff are always super friendly and I've even been to other locations where the Mango Berry isn't on their menu - but they went ahead and made it for me anyways. It's great to have an Emerald City Smoothie in my neighborhood. I was sure these were only located in the suburbs but the Queen Anne location is perfect for me. I love the lean body chocolate and the smoothie barista made it perfectly. Delicious! And great customer service from the staff. Also a great outdoor seating area to chill for a few minutes. read more

I've been going to ECS for almost a year and haven't had a bad experience. Smoothies are always good and staff is talkative and friendly. Only complaint would be the music, can be a little loud or obnoxious but otherwise a minuscule complaint. Keep it up read more

I was fortunate enough to stop here during my recent visit to Seattle. I'm from the midwest where a smoothie store usually means excess sugar and unhealthy calories. That stereotype ended when I stepped foot in this store. I tried their signature smoothie, the Emerald w/ Peanut Butter and it was one of the best smoothies I've ever had! Aside from being a peanut butter-aholic, it was packed with healthy fats and proteins and was low-carb which is something I always look for in any beverage. Anyway, if you're in this part of town, DEFINITELY check this place out! read more

The staff there is amazing. the smoothies are amazing, the delicious peant passion with a creatine booster was delicious! I will be back. I loved that the retail floor was spread out and not over crowded with merchandise as well as the plethora of smoothie options to choose from. My prayers have been answered! I have traveled for 13 hours strait, and have had the worst day. Exhausted, and in the worst mood, I just needed some vitamins/ energy to handle the business I'vi traveled so far to complete. The last thing I needed was someone to screw up my order, and I would be ready to snap! I admit, I was ready to vent on the first person that got in my way. With a pre intuition that something would go wrong, I entered smooth store. I was immediately caught off guard when I opened the door, and received a very cheerful welcome. I still was in defense mode knowing that something was going to go wrong. At that point, suddenly another man walked out from around the corner, and apparently noticed the stress in my persona. He then welcomed me again, himself and made the mistake of asking how my day was going. I told him that he didn't even want me to start. There was something about this guy, that I as much as I anticipated being angry, I couldn't. He continued to ask me if I have been to this location before, and if I had a particular item that I preferred. Being that this was my first time in town, I explained how tired I was and the nutrition pickup in was craving. After trying to describe the flavors I preferred, he told me that he knew exactly what i needed, and asked if I trusted his judgment. With the super kind and knowledgeable, and not to mention, professional manner in which presented himself, he personally made my smoothy. He then assured me that if I did not think it was the best smoothy I have ever tasted, he would pay for it personally. Still kinda skeptical, I tried the smoothie he made for me. O my God! It actually was the best smoothy I have ever experienced! I think he saw it in my face, because he immediately smiled, with a sense of self achievement, as if he actually was happy to satisfy me. It's pretty obvious that I not only payed for my smoothy, I offered a generous tip. Not until that point did he reveal that he actually owned the place and told me that the immediate change in my demeanor was more satisfying than any tip I could give. Hands down, this experience completely shocked me! I would almost consider taking the trip again, just for the experience. I do not normally take the time to right a review, unless someone really pisses me off, but this guys shop is amazing, and I think people should know this. Not only was the smoothy great, the the personal attention these guys gave is an experience in itself! I would give it 20 stars if the option was available! Kudos!
