This was a small location near a park. I appreciated that they had outside seating as well. It was very convenient to grab some food near by and Happy Lemon as well. Not to mention that there was a nice view outside. The employee had orders out within 3 minutes from the time you pay. They also had a variety of drinks and not to mention that they would recommended different drinks if you are in a jam not knowing what you want.

I like going to Happy Lemon for its consistent quality. While Happy Lemon is known for their fruit milk teas with the cheese foam, this plant-based boy stuck with a classic milk tea with soy milk. The non-dairy milk option wasn't immediately clear but asking helped clear up this expectation. Drink was as expected - refreshing, not too sugary nor creamy, but just enough to scratch my boba itch. Location is at its peak here at SLU. I loved being surrounded by modern skyscrapers with a small park to relax in while sipping on boba. It felt like we were living far into the future.

Stopped by a lovely Saturday afternoon and it was packed! It took quite a while to get to the front of the line, especially as there were only two workers. But I got to the front of the line, and put in my order. I was mildly surprised to be told they were out of boba, but I tangented to another drink of ube with taro ball. My drink came out very quickly luckily, and it was well made and tasted delicious! Due to the rather nice weather at the time, there were more people consuming their drinks outside, and despite the rush, there were plenty of seats, though I opted to get my drink to go. Will be back!

    $6.75 Boba Milk Tea & $6.50 Original Bubble Waffle/Happy Lemon . Seattle 04/2025

This was the perfect after dinner run for drinks and dessert... the atmosphere was nice and chill and pleasantly surprised they had Chinese songs playing in the background. We ordered $6.75 Boba Milk Tea & $6.50 Taro Milk Tea & $6.50 Original Bubble Waffle and we were very impressed with how the bubble waffle came out especially! It was so perfect and shiny! Teas & waffles were tasty. We were also so surprised to find out Happy Lemon is also apparently in California too - funny how we discovered them here in Seattle and not back in SoCal. We'll definitely be checking them out again.

Upbeat grab and go bubble tea and bubble waffle cafe! Smelled delicious as they bake their bubble waffles in house. Service was quick. Ordered their new strawberry matcha and added boba! Priced decently for the size. Great little treat while walking around Bellevue Square.

I love Happy Lemon-- It's my favorite boba chain. I tried this location today and was disappointed because of two reasons. (1) They gave made my order in the wrong cup. Salt Crema drinks are supposed to have a different lid. And (2) They put some lychee jelly in my order. I do not like lychee jelly, and it tasted even worse mixed with the pudding. I ordered takeaway and did not start drinking until I was already far from the store, so I unfortunately couldn't tell the employees. This is why you never tip until after you're done eating/drinking anything! I still love Happy Lemon, but I will not come back to this location.

While enjoying an afternoon in SLU my foodie toddler spotted the Lemon and quickly requested a bubble waffle. I really like this location there are a lot seating options, the customer service was great, and orders were made to order in a timely manner. When in SLU definitely treat yourself to Happy Lemon!

Came here during a Kpop Cup Sleeve event and the line was long but that was expected. Cool experience, but I'm going to review Happy Lemon itself. I've had Happy Lemon from other parts of the country, and they're all about the same as the one in University Village. Service is quick, and drinks are always just average/mediocre. Nothing special about the drinks and I usually only get the fruit teas from here. The fruit teas are the only good things though, as the last times I have gotten milk teas from this place it just wasn't all that great. If you're in the area, Happy Lemon isn't a bad choice. But there are much better boba spots in University District to go to.

I recently had a really good experience at the UVillage happy lemon which made me crave their drinks and stop by this location, but honestly I was slightly underwhelmed. My drink was pretty solid (roasted milk tea) but the egg waffle was a little soft/soggy and the service was pretty mediocre. Still the location is convenient so I would stop by again for a drink.

This is my go to place for some milk tea and boba. I am obsessed with their salted foams. My go to is the milk tea with tiramisu foam. If I could just order a glass full of foam and no tea, I totally would. The taro tea with lychee jelly is another great drink. The ambience is casual with tons of lighting. This place is always crowded but they do get your orders out really fast. They have limited dine in space but most customers end up just taking their orders to go. They also let you customize your drinks in terms of the amount of sugar and ice you would want which I think is great, especially because the teas are usually super sweet.

SLU Happy Lemon is one of their better locations in my opinion. I loved when they had a Strawberry Green Milk Tea with Crystal Boba and Crema. It was advertised as "the drink you can eat." Not sure if they still offer it because I haven't visited in a while. A little pricier than the average but that's due to the toppings. If you were to separate everything, you'd pay more so you do save a few cents. Everything also blends together pretty well to create a creamy tea with a strong green tea flavor as well as introduce unique textures from the crema and cookie crumbles alongside the chewy crystal boba. Mango Matcha is also a great classic if you're just looking for a drink without toppings and happen to like mango. The mango is strong and the matcha is present but not overwhelming.

I was so disappointed in happy lemon! The place looked promising and I walked in before checking other reviews. The staff is super nice and they are relatively quick, despite the long lines. But my drink was underwhelming. The boba was good, so maybe next time around I need to order something else. However the milk tea itself seemed watered down and not tasty. so disappointing!

Milk tea with tiramisu rock salt crema and boba

Happy Lemon is known for their salt (cheese) crema and recall my first visit to this place was back in the Bay Area with solid impressions. I was intrigued they have a tiramisu rock salt crema so I decided to try this drink, with boba of course. It ended up close to $8 which is a bit too pricey but this is really close to where I live and it is mostly convenient, and it was great this drink maintained the structure of foam on top and drink on bottom when I got it at home. Tiramisu foam has a nice strong coffee flavor with a mix of sweetness and saltiness. Boba texture is also pretty decent and about similar to my first visit of Happy Lemon. I got the drink half sweet no ice but it was still way too sweet, so keep that in mind when deciding what sweetness level to get. It adequately satisfied my craving fix without having to burden my friend to walk all the way to Capitol Hill to try actually new boba places that are on my bookmarks.

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #118…read more Located across from Westlake Center, this is a full fledged Xing Fu Tang, complete with a bubbling black sugar boba wok and their signature fortune sticks. I especially love the menu towards the rear of the store that depicts all the drinks and whether they contain dairy or tea. Walking in on a Thursday evening right before dinner, it was surprisingly crowded inside. All the seats were taken and there was a small line waiting to order at the kiosk. Luckily the staff is efficient, and I had my drink within a couple of minutes. Taiwan Boba Milk Tea, Large, 25% Sweet, Less Ice ($8.29) - Xing Fu Tang really focuses on two things: black sugar and milk. That focus is evident in this drink, where there's a strong mineral essence from the sugar, and somehow a really strong milkiness (despite being dairy free). The tea? It's an afterthought, with only some flat malty notes to complement the rich and sugary drink. With that being said, the drink is flavorful enough that I don't mind the lack of tea quality at all. Now the sweetness level could use some adjustment - the milk tea by itself is probably good at 25% but with so much of the boba marinade added, it goes up quickly. I might even order 0% next time. In terms of ice, they have less ice as default which I would consider similar to full ice at other boba shops. At least it seems that way since they used large cubed ice in their drinks rather than more typical chipped ice. This drink comes with boba. The boba is clearly homemade, being almost the same texture throughout, and is somewhat lumpy and cuboid in shape rather than perfect spheres. It marinates in the black sugar for a long time, rendering them superbly sweet and sticky. Unfortunately they are there for perhaps too long - at least when I visited, they were near the bottom of the wok. This means the boba is entirely too soft, with a single bite slicing through the sides of the pearl without too much resistance. They also tend to clump up, forming larger conglomerates that get stuck in the boba straw. While there's still somewhat of a bounce, it's noticeably less than perfection. Milk Tea Rating: 4/5 Boba Rating: 3/5 I visited again a couple of weeks later for the Oolong Milk Tea, to see if they could eek a little more tea flavor out of another kind of leaf: Heaven Roast Oolong Boba Milk Tea, Large, 50% Sweet, Less Ice ($8.29) - This tea is a bit more flavorful than the regular milk tea, with a somewhat vegetal and earthy essence that kind of reminds me of Tieguanyin. There's even a slight drying astringency. I forgot to review my notes and ordered this at 50% sweet, which is way, way too sweet for my tastes. I'm definitely going to go with 0% if I visit again. The boba is the same slightly mushy texture as the last visit. At least they are consistent between visits? Milk Tea Rating: 3/5 Boba Rating: 3/5 So overall: the tea that Xing Fu Tang serves is alright, muddled but better quality than a lot of other boba shops. The boba unfortunately is mushy, which I honestly can't say I've seen all that often. I do have to give them props for making their boba in house given how rare it is. Bathrooms - Single unisex room

Because it was hot and sweaty, a big sea of people were waiting both outside and inside this place, and I saw only about 5 or so staff members making all the drinks. There's only two tables and two benches to sit at on the right-hand side of the place; otherwise, the rest of the space is behind the counter where all the drinks are made and the strong aromatic aroma of tea fills the interior. From my visit here, I think you can only place orders either through their lone kiosk to the left-hand side of the entrance near a corner, or by scanning the QR code at the front of the entrance and following prompts on your phone. Staff was too busy making drinks to take orders at the front counter when I was inside. Either way, you have to use the HeyTea app to scan a QR code (on the receipt you get after placing your order) if you want to see an estimate on when your drink(s) will be ready. By the time I signed up for an account and downloaded the app using the slow 5G, my estimated time was 25 minutes; however, the wait for my triple supreme matcha latte (with extra matcha, less sugar and all other things in their recommended settings) ended up being more than 45 minutes as I walked around the perimeter and waited inside and outside this location as well. It was really chaotic trying to get my drink once it was ready; people were cutting in front of me and others to show staff their receipt and pick up their orders even though I was in front of the line. Taste wise though, the matcha is a strong ceremonial blend with grassy tones that actually caught me by surprise. That's because they have a matcha cheese cloud which I thought would have dulled the matcha taste but it didn't! There's also matcha mochi and what tasted like matcha jelly on the bottom which further strengthened the earthy tones. Probably because it was really hot as of this writing, the ice melted much fasted than usual so that's out of this place's control and therefor doesn't detract from my experience itself. Wait here was really long for just one drink but I'm thankful there's something you can use to see when your drinks are ready - in this case, their HeyTea app. I would probably only come back if I was around the area, though wait times for drinks might deter me from doing so altogether.
