Everything about Emerson Fine Jewelry is top-notch, high-quality, and professional. Their shop is beautiful inside. As are the employees who'll, if necessary, assist you in making your decision. I needed assistance. Boy, did I ever need assistance. LoL. I was looking for a birthday gift for my girlfriend. When it comes to buying jewelry, I'm an amateur. I tend to gravitate towards what I like, and not necessarily toward what my girlfriend would like. Because of this, I sought help from one of the Emerson professionals. She was more than happy to assist. I mentioned to her that I only had two criteria. To remember that this was a birthday present, and to steer clear of rings! She immediately knew where I stood on the subject and guided me to a display case of necklaces. At that point, I knew that I was in good hands. I was shown a couple of stunning pieces that sparkled and shimmered as they caught the light. They were very beautiful. But a diamond still in the case was winking at me. It caught my eye. I tell you what, those jewelers sure know how to showcase their product. Perfect lighting. My assistant retrieved the necklace and held it up to her neck. It's glimmering drew me in, and I was sold then and there. It was at that time that I voiced my only concern. I told both of the young ladies in the shop that I've bought diamond necklaces for my girl before. Maybe she's had enough of diamond necklaces. They both laughed. Almost in unison, they said, " No woman gets enough of diamonds." They're probably right. My gift was put in a nice box, beautifully wrapped, and placed in a nice carrying bag. I'm not worried if she'll like it or not. I was told that I could return it if needed. That won't be necessary. I have five beautiful daughters who also have necks. Quick Tip: One of the young ladies at Emerson told me that if indeed my girlfriend has other diamond necklaces, she can "layer" them. Fantastic, I thought. I'll tell her that's what I want to see. Her "layered" in diamonds, with me, the bling on her sling. She'll be the envy of all her friends. Both of them. Just kidding. She boasts more friends than I can count. I came across Emerson Fine Jewelry while searching for an establishment that can assist with watch battery replacement. They were so kind and accommodating - I drove from Moreno Valley to Redlands. They charge $10 per battery. Other places told me their prices depended on the type of watch I have. I replaced batteries on 2 Michael Kors watches and one Michelle watch. I am happy to take my business anywhere that is no BS and super kind. I have other watches I'll need to take back in the near future, and by the way, their jewelry selection is STUNNING! I should have updated my reviews long ago. Emerson's is a real downtown treasure. Many years ago, I tried out Emerson (then Emerson & Farrar) for the first time. I felt a little bit out of place (maybe I felt under dressed?). But they did great, honest work, always ahead of time they promised, and reasonably/fairly priced. So I have kept coming back. They have since refurbished several cherished family heirlooms for me. They've resized my wedding set years back, and just today they have cleaned, polished, and re-rhodium plated the set. They look amazing and brand new! They haven't looked so nice in over a decade. I had forgotten what they were supposed to look like. My husband has bought me pearls here, and we've come back since for matching earrings and bracelet. Which Paul Emerson ll custom designed to match. It's always a great experience. Since Mr. Emerson ll has retired (I just learned this!) I have seen Mr. Paul Emerson lll and several other lovely associates. I continue to receive the same kind and pleasant service to which I am accustomed. Maybe even better than before- though I always loved speaking with the senior Mr. Emerson ll. I wholeheartedly recommend you shop here, or bring them your cherished items for repair etc. I hope Mr. Emerson ll is enjoying a lovely retirement and that his children continue to remain here in Redlands. My wife and I had a terrible experience with a family friend buying a ring, it took a long time. We walked by Emerson and Farrar and met Paul, who was analyzing the ring and noticed a lot of defects in the ring. When we got it resized, evidently our friend squished the ring into an oval, the diamond was not centered, and it was also tilted. My wife didn't really want to wear it as well, since the diamond perpetually got loose. He did his homework and went to multiple other local places, but ultimately decided that Paul was the man for the job. And I'm glad he did! With my fiancé's busy work schedule, Paul was gracious enough to spend time outside of business hours to accommodate him. We were engaged while vacationing in Japan and being a person who isn't used to wearing rings, I did a little wear and tear to the ring before we even got back. Lucky, my fiancé informed me that Emerson&Farrar have a policy where I can bring my ring in every 6 months to get it checked and if I so happen to lose a small side diamond they will replace it. So we get back and the first thing we did after recovering from the travel was go down to the store to get my ring repaired. We were let into the store and were welcomed by smiling faces. I let them know I was missing a side stone and they took it right to the back and started working on it. We even came in 15 mins prior to closing (I blame the jet lag) and they didn't seem to mind at all. Fast forward a couple weeks and I decide that I want to change some things about the ring. I let Paul know how I was feeling and he was so understanding. He said to me, "we are here to make you happy". He told me to just let him know what I want and he will gladly do it. I am so grateful that my fiancé picked such a great company to work with. Their pieces in store are also very unique and one of a kind. My fiance and I went to E&F for a custom fit wedding band for my emerald cut diamond engagement ring. Paul caught our vision for special engraving on the band and was even able to have it done in 2 weeks so we could have it in time for our wedding!! The day before our wedding we picked up the wedding band and this is when the real customer service became apparent! My Matron of Honor and a best friend were with us and were lamenting how dull their rings looked in comparison to all the other pretty rings in the store. Out of the blue the staff offered to clean their rings in celebration of the upcoming nuptials. My friends were tickled to have their rings cleaned. After some time passed, their rings were brought out all clean AND E&F had straightened a bent prong AND re-rhodiumed the rings while they were at it. All of this happened right there in the shop while we waited. What a wonderful surprise to everyone involved. It made my day to have 2 of my best friends surprised in this way. They both stated the stores they usually take their rings to would have to send them out for several weeks to get done what E&F completed in about 10 minutes.
